Were in Spain, France, Bulgaria, repeatedly in Turkey, Tunisia, so there is something to compare.
The hotel is great! The food is simply wonderful - the quality cannot be compared with Turkey (even with 5 *) - everything is fresh, there is fish, seafood, meat, and dietary dishes (at the same time, everything is fresh and no salads mixed from the previous meal). Our room, the Superior Sea Vew, was spacious, the sea view was amazing, the air conditioning worked flawlessly, clean, the room was cleaned and towels changed daily (just put them where they should be so that the maid understands that they need to be replaced and do not regret a little tip - 2 euro every other day is quite normal), the bar was regularly replenished with drinks.
The staff speaks English - learn a little, work a little yourself and there will be no problems.

A hotel for a quiet measured rest - complete relaxation, everything is unobtrusive, cultural and quite European. If you don’t want to swim in the wonderful clear sea and saturate yourself with mineral salts (the beach is really public and you need to pay daily for an umbrella and sun loungers - 2 euros for each item - well, dear, this is Europe and such order is everywhere! ), lie by the pool at the hotel and saturate yourself with alcoholic cocktails, which are in abundance - you just need to ask again the right way!
There is something to see - go to Heracleion, take a walk, shop - there are interesting places, eat in a tavern, listen to Greek music, soak up the local flavor! I recommend an excursion to Santorini - an island-volcano, in my opinion, the largest of the marine volcanoes, a great place!! ! and if you have money and want to somehow stand out, you can buy interesting jewelry there. Only one day is not enough there, of course - to run at a gallop and take pictures, but the impressions, nevertheless, remained...
And as for our Russian compatriots - indeed, they don’t like us very much, but we ourselves, gentlemen, are to blame for this !! ! If a young girl who has just arrived runs past calm Europeans in the evening through a bar in slates with a cigarette in her mouth and picks up 4 strong cocktails from the bartender in 2 hands, right there to the music in the same slates and with the same cigarette in her mouth almost in in a shabby nightgown he dances in front of everyone around his fellows, who are already fairly "plucked up" and shouting obscene words of friends - this, gentlemen, is incomprehensible to Europeans and will never be understood. And in a restaurant, you don’t need to force tables with dozens of plates of food that you won’t be able to eat later - there’s enough for everyone and you can walk around with one plate and collect whatever you want, at least ten times. Everything should be beautiful on the table - if you are together, then 2 glasses of wine and 2 plates, not 25! If such an order is not for you, then you are in Turkey !! ! There you can shift 5 tables and arrange group feasts with singing "Because of the island to the core... "
If you want to see the world - the island of Crete is what you need. Go boldly, you won't regret it. This is not Paris or Rome, but I assure you, no less interesting. And the Greeks are very friendly. Just smile at people, otherwise most Russians look frowningly at everyone, which scares them away.
