This small hotel is located in the fishing village of Benitses. 11 km from the center of Corfu. The hostess is Russian (and this fact, most likely, attracts a large number of Russian guests to the hotel). She owns 2 neighboring hotels Corfu Maris Hotel 3 * (aimed at a relaxing and romantic vacation) and Corfu Maris Bellos Hotel (more focused on families with children).
The hotel has a total of 44 rooms, all with sea views: double standards and family rooms for a family of 6-8 people (3 bedrooms, a kitchen with everything you need for cooking and 2 bathrooms (one with a shower, one with a bath); located in a separate building; each such family room occupies a floor). In the rooms: air conditioning, satellite TV with Russian channels (no Ukrainian TV), refrigerator, telephone, free wi-fi, free wired internet, shower, hairdryer, balcony / terrace.
Meal plan: breakfast or half board. Breakfast - buffet. When choosing a meal plan, be sure to take into account that Benitses is a fishing village, and there are a lot of taverns and cafes, and they always have fresh fish and seafood in abundance.
Beach: pebble. Umbrellas + sunbeds for free. Beach towels - on deposit.
Personal impression: I liked it. But I'm a fan of small cozy city hotels, from which it's "within a stone's throw" to all sorts of "gulyalov", so I can be biased : ).
Summary: still 4+ on a five-point scale. In my humble opinion, fans of a relaxing holiday will like it here (although what kind of company will gather - such a result will turn out: well, how lovers will drop into all 44 rooms to drink beer, cheer on football, knock domino "knuckles"... Or vice versa, a group of "Turgenev" girls, admirers of Juliet Benzoni and Stas Mikhailov : ). But the hotel is good.
So I recommend the hotel to everyone: great location, decent service, friendly staff and magnificent sea!
There is a bus stop right next to the hotel, we went on our own to walk in Kerkyra, a very beautiful city. The architecture is reminiscent of Italy, many Orthodox churches, walked along Spianada Square, settled the church of St. Spyridon and St. Theodora, the fortress of the city of Corfu.
In general, we were satisfied with the price-quality ratio in the hotel, we are very glad that we managed to relax in such a wonderful place as Corfu.
But if you like noisy entertainment, then this hotel is not for you: there are no animators or other mass entertainment.
We had breakfast at the hotel, and had lunch and dinner in neighboring restaurants, there are plenty of them, we have visited all of them, delicious cuisine is everywhere.
So, the holiday was a success!
Irritated only by the same Russian habit: in any part of the world in the morning before breakfast, take a deck chair (and there are a mountain of them on the shore near the hotel! ), throwing a towel on it and dragging it closer to the sea, under a pair of umbrellas, and until night it will lie on it, although the owners will appear to lie on it for 20-30 minutes. for the whole day. The administrators put up an announcement: "Please do not take a seat and do not take more than 1 umbrella for 2 sun loungers" Funny: "Please... " We even: "It is strictly forbidden... " - do not care!
My photos of the hotel "Corfu Maurice":
We rested with my husband in September 2010. We chose the island and the hotel for a long time. We stopped at Corfu Maris. And they didn’t fail. They write different things about it. We were delighted! the vacationer is treated with all my heart! Cleaning is daily, snow-white linen and towels! Every smallest request is fulfilled. The restaurant is right on the seashore. I would like to say a separate thank you to the chef and waitresses. explained what they eat with what. Maria, thank you!
Many thanks to all the staff of the hotel for our unforgettable stay!! !
The road passes behind the hotel, the windows of the rooms do NOT overlook it (all rooms have a sea view). Immediately behind the road, the most picturesque mountains begin, covered with centuries-old olive groves and cypresses. You can climb the mountains (the climb is not steep, the road is not too tiring), there are stunning views from there, an old church and a spring at the top. The walk is amazing.
It should be noted that the majority of hotels in Corfu are located in such a way that you need to go to the beach across the road and cars drive past sunbathers all the time, so Corfu Maris is a wonderful exception.
The hotel staff is attentive and friendly, the rooms were cleaned every day, linen was changed frequently. In general, a very quiet hotel, I have never seen or heard parties in the restaurant (although it works for all visitors, not just hotel guests).
The breakfasts were hearty, not typical for the European format (there was a very tasty natural yogurt, milk, muesli, breakfast cereals, eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, sliced sausage, croissants, toasts, some fruits - natural and canned, butter, jams, honey in packages, tea, coffee). We had enough. Fruits can be bought inexpensively within walking distance from the hotel. By the way, we had half board, our flight was delayed, we arrived at the hotel at 23:00. We were immediately invited to the restaurant (without any questions from our side) and fed a delicious dinner. We bought good homemade wine (white and red) in a restaurant and were satisfied (1.5 euros per glass). The restaurant has a large terrace with umbrellas overlooking the sea. It's amazing to have breakfast, lunch and dinner right on the beach.
Cozy, wonderful hotel. This year we are going there again!
