I had a rest in «Greсotel Kos Imperial Talasso» last year in the period from 26 June to 10 July 2013 with an adult daughter of 18 years old. There are absolutely nothing reviews about this hotel on turpravda, and even those are negative. Therefore, I decided to write my review, which is radically different from the previous ones.

I must say right away that we were very pleased with the rest. UIA flew from Kyiv. Our flight was delayed for 5 hours, which was reported to us from the agency just when we had already left home, fortunately not far away, so we returned and waited for the appointed time at home. Fly about 2.5 hours. It was already dark when we arrived at the hotel, it was already the beginning of ten, we quickly checked in (about 20 people arrived from the plane to this hotel), checked in our luggage, which was then delivered to our room and we still had time for dinner.

We had a room in the main building on the top floor, the fourth, overlooking the sea. I really liked the room - everything is in light blue tones.
Spacious room, good bed (2 pushed together), perfectly working air conditioner (Daikin), a sofa, 2 armchairs and a transparent coffee table, a spacious balcony, where there are also 2 chairs and a coffee table. What especially pleased us was a very spacious closet made of natural wood, in which we found bathrobes, slippers, blue beach towels, simple beach bags - all in duplicate. There is also a refrigerator in which there was a compliment from the hotel - a bottle of dry white wine with the hotel logo (brought and opened already in Kyiv). In addition, every day we were given 2 liter bottles of still water. Coffee-tea, etc. is not provided. A large bathroom with all the necessary gels, shampoos, lotions, soaps, very pleasantly smelling and of high quality, which were regularly replenished by the maid.
By the way, she cleaned our room perfectly every day and did it before we returned from the beach at lunchtime, she was always very friendly when we crossed paths in the corridor. Every day I left a couple of euros on the bed for her.

This is the first time we have stayed in a hotel with an outside corridor. On the first morning, it was somewhat unusual to clearly hear the chirping of swallows outside the door (well, you know what I mean! ). So this chirping starts at 6 in the morning, but a pillow in my ear easily solved the problem of sleep. In addition, the balcony-corridor overlooks the road, which is rarely used by cars. And although there are very few of these cars, but the next day I tried to change our number and see possible options with a surcharge. They offered a good option, but with a surcharge of 1.000 UAH. (1000 euros) for a room in a bungalow closest to the sea and with its own pool. In the evening we went to see and decided not to change our number, because.

in the bungalow rooms, families with children mostly live and it is noisy there, and as a rule, couples without children or already with adult children live in the main building. Our neighbors were an elderly couple from Italy and an adult couple from Russia. In general, everything was quiet and calm!

For food, we had a Premium Plus package, which includes lunch-breakfast-dinner + use of all bars in the hotel and on the beach (there are 2 of them). Those who have such a package are given an individual card upon check-in, according to which in the beach bar, in the hotel bar, in the evening at dinner you can order free drinks that are marked “PP” in the wine list and in me at the bar. There are a lot of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with such marks, except that only the most expensive foreign-made drinks will have to be paid extra. You can also dine in the a la carte restaurant once a week for free.
Of course, we visited, but I will tell you that the menu is similar to what was in the buffet restaurant.

During the day on the beach, they regularly visited beach bars, where you could always get several options for ice cream, different milkshakes, cappuccino coffee (hereinafter on the list) on a PP card.

In general, the territory of the hotel is very well-groomed, all rooms are clean and spacious. Wi-fi is best taken only in the hotel lobby (which we were told when we checked in), but sometimes we managed to catch a signal in the room, although we lived quite far from the reception. Therefore, in the evening, in the spacious lobby of the hotel, lovers always sit on white sofas to always be aware of the latest news, or just chat with relatives on Skype. Here you can order something from the bar menu from the waiters. The hall is large, there is a place for children to run around.

On one of the lower floors there is a good mini-market where you can buy everything you need for a pleasant stay + all kinds of delicious food. There is practically nothing outside the hotel, so the presence of such a shop is very important. The city of Kos can be reached by regular bus, the stop of which is located right next to the hotel. Outside the territory, if you go a little to the left, there is a rental office and a small karting track with very old cars. There is nothing else to do near the hotel. My friend stayed not far (but closer to the spit) at the Mitsis chain hotel, so she did not find our hotel…. She said that they walked and walked along the highway and reached some thickets, realized that apparently there was nothing further and returned back ...and after all, they had to go past the thickets, and then past the field ...and here he is, the handsome Grecotel! Well, you understand! If you want entertainment - go to Kos!
We were completely satisfied with the hotel food! Breakfasts and lunches are always varied, they ate only outdoors, there is a dress code in the evening. All drinks (including tea) are brought only by the waiters (very nimble, always trying to talk nicely with the client in his language). Everything is at a very high level. Under the PP system, you are asked to sign a check and write the room number. There were no problems with the need to pay extra when leaving.

Beach. Hotel on the first line, hotel beach, sun loungers, umbrellas, towels (located in the room, maids change them daily), free of charge. We were already in the season, but there was no need to take sun loungers (although this was practiced by vacationers), because the beach employee can always find a couple of sunbeds, perhaps not in the place where you would like to stay. I recommend entering the sea only in special slippers - large pebbles at the entrance to the sea, well, in the sea itself.
The beach is covered with sand and small pebbles, but there is one nuisance. The trees on the beach throw off small thorns that dig painfully into the feet! You need to be ready for this. Kos is washed by the Aegean Sea, which, as you know, is somewhat colder than the Mediterranean (average water is +22), but clean and transparent. In addition, it is windy on Kos, which in turn helps to endure the heat.

The pool is very large for children and adults with a bridge, an impromptu stream, a waterfall. Separate pool for the little ones. There are many children for them, there is a special area where they are treated separately.

Now about the sights. According to Fr. We did not take any excursions to Kos, we rented a car. On Kos, a car for rent is quite expensive, we took a Nissan Micra. For a day, the car cost us 90 euros (in Rhodes the same car cost 50 euros).

Kos itself is not a big island, it is possible to go around all the sights on your own in a day. We visited all the iconic places in Kos and on the whole island slowly and on our own, sunbathed on one fashionable beach, where the sea has no waves at all (waves and wind are common for Kos), but with biting plankton, bought traditional Greek honey and where By 6 pm we were already at the hotel. At the same time, we drove around the island from one end to the other (there is no ring road on the island).

Through the tour operator, we bought 2 excursions to other islands: Nisyros and Patmos. I liked both excursions very much, although it takes quite a long time to go to Patmos - 3 hours on a speedboat. Both of us do not suffer from seasickness, so for us both excursions were a joy, which would not be said about some of the especially sensitive people who are with us on the boats. I recommend visiting both of these tours!

All in all, we had a great vacation in Grecotel!
I recommend this hotel to visit! This 2014 we are going to rest on about. Fuerteventura (Canary Islands). There are only 2 reviews. After returning, I will definitely describe my impressions.
