In mid-September, I rested in the Pieria region, which is at the foot of Mount Olympus. A wonderful, quiet place, the most suitable for family and recreational holidays. The nature is amazing, the air is clean, and a light breeze makes it more pleasant to be in the sun. The sea is clean, although in the first days of my stay it was a little cloudy due to rain and wind, but then it cleared up and I just didn’t want to leave the beach.
I settled in the Grand Platon 4 * hotel, all inclusive. I occupied a double room in the main building, and there were also rooms in bungalows. I liked the room, spacious, with a comfortable bed, there was a dressing table, a mirror, an ottoman. The furniture, of course, is not very new, but quite normal. All in soft colors, pleasing to the eye. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a large window, which I personally really liked. And the view from the balcony was mesmerizing. It was possible to admire both Olympus and the Aegean Sea. The room was cleaned every day and it was done very conscientiously. By the way, if there is a wish to leave a tip to the maids, then do not leave it on the bedside table, they will not take it. Leave on the bed, so they understand that it is in gratitude to them. I liked the food: there was a variety, and it was cooked quite well - I didn’t get bored during the rest. Although, I heard that some complained. But I have no complaints. The confectioner at the hotel each time pampered us with sweets, so that I already recovered by 3 kg. I advise you to try the local draft beer. It has a milder taste, it is not bitter and is great to drink on a hot afternoon by the pool. And in the evening you can also drink wine there. The road to the sea at the beginning seemed to me far (about 300 meters), but then it turned out that it was very good that you could walk a little, especially after a hearty lunch. Near the hotel there is a sandy beach (sunbeds have to be paid); there were always enough sunbeds, but I would like better cleaning. The beach also has a bar, so if you want you can order fresh coffee or juice. There is also a restaurant Thalassa, which means the sea. I advise you to visit, you will not regret it. Fresh seafood, tasty cooked, large portions and not expensive. And all this with a sea view. The hotel was located between two villages: Paralia Katerin and Olympic Beach. Souvenirs could be bought there, there were a lot of shops, in the evenings all the streets, all cafes and taverns were filled. You can get to the villages both by buses that run every twenty minutes, and on foot - it takes about thirty minutes, along the embankment. I liked everything very much, rested, gained strength. I took with me a wonderful tan and a lot of pleasant impressions!
P. S. I want to thank all the staff of the Grand Platon Hotel, special thanks to Stefania, the girl at the reception, who was always happy to help in any matter!
