Remembering last summer and our trip to Crete, I always think that we were very lucky with the choice of the hotel.
Perhaps someone will find the review useful and help you choose a good hotel for a reasonable price. The hotel is small and places fill up very quickly.
So, the village of Bali is an hour's drive from Heraklion, 40 minutes from Rethymnon. Very convenient location.
The village stretches along 3 bays and has 3 beaches.
once an hour a small train runs - it transports everyone throughout the village.
The sea is calmest... only a couple of times there were waves. Bali Star Hotel - in the heart of the village, the beach is nearby across a small road. The hotel is clean and nice. It is kept by the Greek family, which keeps order for 5+. Breakfasts are modest - but you will not stay hungry, dinners are better. Nearby there are many taverns that are open until late in the evening. so the choice of food is much more interesting.

Russian during our visit to the hotel was 30%, mostly British, Poles. Peaceful relaxation, just what we were looking for.
Convenient location allows you to go on your own and to the capital of the island of Heraklion-Knoss and Rethymno-Chania.
and we also planned an independent visit to Santorini from Moscow, which we carried out without the slightest overlap.
We enjoyed our stay and would love to return to this hotel again!
