We rested in Grecotel Creta Palace 5 * with my husband and daughter 7 years old from 08/01/2010 to 08/12/2010. I'll start from the beginning:
1. Meeting tour operator - "Mouzenidis Travel". I can’t say anything bad - we were met at the airport, transfer - 12-seat minibus, new, with air conditioning, we were accompanied by a guide. The guide at the hotel Alexandra is a very nice girl, she gave complete information to all our questions, if she was not at the hotel, we called the cell phone and made an appointment. The return transfer to the airport arrived without delay, the same minibus, the guide accompanied to the passport and visa control. In general, everything is quite well organized and adjusted. Thanks.
2. The hotel itself.

As soon as the transfer door opened, the staff was already coming to meet us, they immediately took our suitcase and said “everything, from now on you are on vacation”, and then we moved on easily. At the reception (lobby) we were offered to sit down, they brought freshly squeezed juice, Ksenia, a PR specialist, immediately approached us. I want to separately thank Ksenia, during the whole holiday we turned to her with various questions and requests, it was very pleasant to communicate. We arrived at 11-00 (local time, i. e. 1 hour before the check-in time), but immediately got a room, and we went to a standard room with an extra bed, and settled in a "studio" or "suite", I don’t remember exactly what they are called, that is, in this room, in addition to a large bed (2x1.5 beds) and an extra bed, there was a sofa, a coffee table and a large table (on which there were always fresh roses). The room was cleaned twice a day, towels were changed in the evening, programs of restaurants, entertainment and children's events were left every week, every evening a weather forecast for the next day. The food was delicious, varied, there were themed evenings, the staff was polite, friendly, there were no difficulties in communicating - many understand Russian, and some speak. We were on half board, but for the child it actually turned out to be full board, because for children, regardless of the boarding house, there is a children's cafe where everything is free until 17-30 (there is everything hot, and soups, and ice cream). As for entertainment - the hotel, of course, is quiet, family-run - there are no noisy discos, but there are different programs, almost always live music in the open-air bar. There is everything for children - different programs during the day, discos in the evening. My daughter was even ready to give up bathing a couple of times, just to go to the kids club. Thanks to the girls from the children's club Maria, Yulia - attentive, perky, they will stir up even the most modest.
3. Sea.
We were very lucky with the sea - we arrived in complete calm, the water was clean, clear, warm. A week later it began to storm - one evening they hung out a red flag, there were strong waves. When a storm hits the shore, algae and garbage are, of course, not very pleasant, but this is what the vacationers themselves have sketched (plastic cups, bags, napkins). In the morning, as a rule, all this is not there, more often in the evening. We had such a sea once or twice. As for the entrance to the sea - a sandy beach, then 1.5-2 meters there are large pebbles and stones, then sand again. Pebbles and stones do not create problems, my daughter entered without slippers, I bought myself slippers in a supermarket on the territory and did not even notice the stones.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and enjoyed our stay. If we are going to Crete again, then most likely to this hotel.
