We rested with my wife in Aldemar Paradise Village and Aldemar Amilia Mare (formerly called Royal Mare) in Rhodes for 7 years in a row, from 2010 to 2016. In fact, this is one hotel. Wherever you live, in the Village or in the Mare, you use restaurants, bars, swimming pools, beaches and other infrastructure of the entire hotel complex in the same way. The first time we went to this hotel only because the Greeks gave an annual Schengen multivisa, but we really liked the hotel, and we continued to go there every year, usually in September. But, coming every next year, we saw that the level of the hotel is gradually falling, although the Village used to be a 4-star, and recently it has become a 5-star. Somewhere in 2012-2013, the animation team changed and the new team was noticeably weaker than the previous one. In 2014, the most colorful bartender Christo left. However, all this seemed like a trifle, because everything else remained at the same, rather high level. But what we saw in September 2016 simply amazed us. On the very first evening, we were surprised to find that at the entrance to the restaurant no one meets us as before, neither the restaurant managers nor the waiters. Going inside the restaurant, we saw that the tablecloths had disappeared from the tables and the tables were not served, and the waiters only had time to remove the dirty dishes from the tables. The previously strictly observed dress code at dinner has been canceled and people walk around the restaurant almost like on the beach. In the DBL room, instead of the prescribed six towels, four were left, and the largest ones disappeared. On the second day, they discovered that they had not changed the bed linen. At the reception, they explained to me in Russian that their rules have changed and bed linen is changed now in three days and there are four towels in the room plus beach towels, which were previously. And this is in a 5-star European hotel! There was not always freshly squeezed juice at the VIP breakfast, and three days after our arrival, salmon disappeared and did not appear before our departure. In the Dolphin Bar, the snacks that existed before were gone, so you can only have a snack with cookies. In evening bars, some drinks that used to be free have become paid, and peanuts in the snack are generously diluted with dried peas. For a two-week stay at the hotel, they give the opportunity to visit only two a la carte restaurants, and there were four. There was a rather strong smell of chlorine in the sea water pools. For two weeks of rest, I met with many tourists who had a rest in this hotel not for the first time, and everyone noticed a sharp drop in the level of service. Everyone was upset that the once worthy hotel sank to the level of a Turkish three-ruble note. I think that in 2016 Aldemar lost a lot of his fans. So my wife and I were going to fly to one of the Aldemar hotels in Crete, but now we are afraid that the situation is the same there. After all, the managers of the Aldemar hotel chain could not but see what happened to their hotel in Rhodes.
