A very decent hotel. At least at a price of 1952 euros for 10 nights for 2 adults and 2 children in the second half of May, the hotel met all expectations. And MIBS Travel also covered the cost of visas. It's possible that in high season, with much higher prices and overcrowding at the hotel, some of the negative points noted in the previous review last year are really annoying, but in May everything was wonderful.

I disagree that the interiors of the hotel are ascetic - marble and natural stone on all floors create quite a respectable impression. The food is delicious. Of course, everything in the restaurant looks more modest than in Turkish hotels of a similar category, but in fact, the cuisine is not inferior in variety - simply, three different salads are put in three dishes, and not fifteen with different decor. In addition, gyros, which, by definition, cannot be in Turkey, is, I will tell you, a very serious advantage.

Of the additional restaurants, the Varka tavern, which is near the beach, is especially good. Good Italian at Mitsis Rodos Village. Greek and Chinese a la cart were not impressed.

The beach, although it is located across a narrow public road (there is practically no traffic), is very good: coarse sand is comfortable to walk on, and at the same time it is heavy enough that the water remains clear even with a slight wave of the sea. The entrance to the sea is perfect. To the right of the beach there is a rocky cape - near it there are more fish in the water - you can swim with a mask.

We got lucky with the number. Having paid for a family room, we were expecting a room with a glass partition, which is shown on the hotel website and caused criticism from the author of the previous review.
But we were given a room of two full-fledged rooms with a closing door between them: in one there are two single beds for children, in the other - a large one for adults (though also made up of two single beds, but with a common headboard). Both rooms had their own door (French window) to the front lawn of the cottage. The French window is shuttered. They used them to close at night, leaving the glass doors themselves open - the rooms were well ventilated through the shutters at night. Our room was in a line of one-story cottages (bungalows) near a quiet road in front of the beach. Quiet place. For those who lived near the main pool and bar, it was probably difficult to fall asleep - there the audience (especially the French-speaking) had a very loud party every evening until at least one in the morning.
Furniture in the room - to a minimum, but by no means old (except for a really ancient and small TV, which, however, worked properly, including two Russian-language channels). The bathroom is luxurious in size, with its own window (necessary, among other things, for ventilation - there is no forced ventilation). The safe in the room, as usual in Greek hotels, is paid (you need to get a plug-key at the reception).

As usual in Rhodes, we rented a car for a standard three days. At the Marathon office across the street and a little higher from the hotel, the price is 5 euros cheaper than at the Marathon representative in the hotel lobby. Gasoline is expensive (about 1.7-1.8 per liter), but the cars are small, economical, so we ran into plenty.

The hotel entertains children well in the children's club, they spend quite a long (at least half an hour) evening children's disco. There are water slides, a small playground - but here you have to look after the children yourself.
The audience is diverse - most of all, apparently, the French. Then the British, Poles, Slovaks, Russians (in the broadest sense). Black VIP bracelets, which also give free access to the services of the sister hotel Village, are worn only by Russians. By the way, thanks to such bracelets, we even dined in the city of Rhodes on the principles of all inclusive in the main Mitsis Grand Hotel there.

Returning to the overall assessment of "price-quality" and comparing with the Turkish Marco Polo and Rixos Tekirova, visited last year (see my reviews on the same site), I will put Mitsis Rodos Maris in the class somewhere just between these two, which, taking into account the sharp increase in Turkish prices for the 2012 season, makes the Greeks clear favorites.
