Good day to all! My husband and I recently arrived from Greece. Were in the tour "Ancient Greece". The time was just wonderful. Greece is a wonderful country. everything here is just fine: from historical monuments to local cuisine. Special thanks, of course, to our guide - Panaetis and driver George. They are really professionals and you can learn a lot from them about the country. In particular, it was from George that we learned how to quickly get to the city from our hotel in Thessaloniki "Grand Hotel Palace". In principle, the hotel is already located in the city, but a little out of the way, so to speak. There is a train station on one side and a road junction on the other. So, according to the logic of things, the noise should be wild, but no... the noise is almost inaudible. This is just pleasantly surprising.
The room has everything you need for a normal stay: shower sets, bathrobes, slippers, tea set (plus tea bags, coffee and cream). True, even in the room tea for a surcharge. Strange, of course, but true. I really liked that the room was clean. It can be seen that the hotel is not new, but well maintained. Very well maintained rooms. Plumbing in perfect condition. Everything is clean. Not a speck of dust anywhere. In general, there were no complaints about the room at all. The food is good. Breakfast and dinner - buffet. Lots of goodies and most importantly, there is always something to choose from. We really liked the fish. Absolutely delicious - definitely worth a try. There is a small spa in the hotel. Same as with the number. Everything is nice, clean, but without any frills. Nice pool and sauna. The pool is small, of course, but the water is warm and clean around.
Yes, the hotel is far from the city center. Every hour there is a free bus from the hotel and delivers to the city. We got out once. I liked Thessaloniki very much. Beautiful. Especially the promenade with umbrellas. We walked, took pictures and drove back to the hotel. There, as always, we were met by our hotel guide - Marina. Very nice girl. Always friendly, will show everything, tell and give advice. She even gave us a map of the city and explained what and where to buy and see. Once we took the bus ourselves to the center. But our driver explained this to us a long time ago. How to get there and where to buy tickets. To be honest, it’s even fun to ride the bus once. Especially when the Greeks address you in Russian. I was sooo surprised. It turns out that there are many Russian-speaking Greeks here. And in general, everywhere you can find Russian speech. In our hotel, every second person spoke Russian from the staff. It's very nice that they understand you... In principle, before going on a tour, we carefully studied the hotels and fully excursions. Everything is as stated, nothing more, nothing less. So, from this hotel, we did not expect that here they would give us hydromassage every day and kiss our feet. Everything was perfect and exactly what we expected.
