Despite all the above points, we were pleasantly surprised by the gift brought to the room from the hotel management to our child, whose birthday coincided with the stay at the hotel.
Summing up, I can say the following: there is no point in overpaying for 4 * - the same set of services is available in 3 * hotels.
And the main point: until the Croats change their attitude towards the Russians, or at least they treat us (Russians) as they treat the inhabitants of the European Union, we Russians will have a desire to find a piece of paradise somewhere else.
Firstly, the evening music program - most often "live music" starts at about 21 o'clock and ends only at 23. The music venue adjoins the hotel directly and is located from the sea. Thus, those who took a sea view will not be able to fall asleep before 11 pm even with the windows closed.
Secondly, the entourage of the hotel looks ascetic and shabby, i. е. at the reception there are broken glass paintings, in the dining room twigs stuck into plasterboard niches and bowls with seeds or glass vases with artificial flowers around food dishes. I was struck by the lack of skill among cooks to decorate watermelons and other carvings.
Thirdly, perhaps we were just unlucky, but during our vacation there were strong low tides and it became very difficult to get to the bathing place (that is, where the water reaches the waist) from the hotel beach. Even with slippers on his feet, he had to walk at the risk of slipping on algae or hitting a protruding stone unseen in the muddy water.
(later I preferred to go to another beach located 20-30 minutes walk)
As for the service - it is directly proportional to the tip, it's good or bad for you to decide.
It is good to go to this hotel with small children - there is animation, a child (over 5 years old, younger - by agreement) can be left there alone. The animators are very nice, patient and friendly! ! Children's mini-club is equipped with paints, clay, sand toys, balls, badminton, constructors, puzzles, mosaics, etc. You can take and use in the room or on the beach. Between Sol Umag and Sipar there is a sandy beach - it is convenient to swim there with children. There are a lot of interesting things for children.
For adults free mini-golf, big chess, table tennis and more. In the evening there is a mini disco for the little ones and an evening show of animators for adults (all this, if not rain). Next up is live music. But all this is designed either for parents and young children, or for a respectable audience. A lot of foreigners. There are no youth discos in Turkey at the hotel. The area is quiet, comfortable and peaceful.
The rooms in Sol Umag itself are new, spacious and modern. With a bathtub, not a shower. We had one with a balcony, but we also have one without a balcony. The hotel has a terrace with a roof and it is quite possible that the view from the room will be exactly on the roof - like ours on the 1st floor, but the sea is still perfectly visible (we had the first floor (on the real first floor there is a restaurant, reception bar and shops - rooms on it no, next comes the ME floor and only then the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors - so don't be surprised when you get a room. Check-out from the room at 10 am.
Food: excellent quality food. Normal, not soy, like meat in Turkey. Fish, seafood. Freshly made pizza every evening. And for small children and diabetics - everything is there. No freshly squeezed juices. Drinks at dinner are not imposed. There are compotes and yoghurts for which you do not have to pay. In general, there is no special need to buy something. Just for fun and variety.
A chic indoor pool, on 3 sides with mirrored windows - overlooking the sea and the park. He worked at the beginning of June, especially in the rain. There is a Spa.
On the beach, sunbeds and umbrellas are free, showers too. You have to rent towels or bring your own. Most with their own. Towels are provided free of charge at the indoor pool. In the neighboring hotel - Sipare - sunbeds, umbrellas and showers on the beach for a fee.
