We rested in May 2007 in Bali. Rest is more likely for those who like to actively relax - despite the fact that the hotel has an excellent beach and swimming pools, one way trip (Kyiv-Bangkok-Denpasar) took about a day due to long flights and transfers. Therefore, tired of flights often affects the impressions of tourists. I personally love to fly, so I was ok with that.
The HOTEL is chic, you will not see such a SINCERE good-natured attitude of the serving staff in any European or Arab country. It was my first time in Asia, so for me everything I saw was new, which cannot be said about those who had been to Thailand before. Their opinion: the Thai islands (Phuket) are in no way inferior to Bali, only at a cheaper price, but the Balinese are more cultured people in the sense that Indonesia is not a depraved prostitute Thailand. Many Japanese rest in the hotel, there are Russians - but not those in Egypt and Turkey, cultural ones.
ROOMS are clean with beautiful Balinese furniture, cleaned regularly.

There are no complaints about CATERING, I counted 6 restaurants in the hotel - Chinese, European, beach, Japanese, an amphitheater and a lobby bar. I especially liked the Japanese one. Even the Japanese love it. We had paid for breakfast and dinner, we could eat at any restaurant, so we tried everything (by the way, a ticket with a flight, accommodation and two meals a day cost $5.400 for two). In the morning - a buffet, for dinner in different ways - sometimes Swedish, sometimes on the principle of a la carte restaurants in Turkey. We dined on the beach. Per person - about 15-20 dollars, but very large portions. Australian wine is delicious but expensive, cocktails are all $8. In Kuta (in the city) - 3-5 dollars.
Nature is a fairy tale!! ! A riot of flowers, trees, beautiful lizards run around the territory. One thing was frustrating - we fell into a period of storms (although it was already ending), so it was dangerous to swim in the ocean, but we went on an excursion to the open ocean - we swam, rode a banana, flew by parachute, etc.
We went to the city for a walk and for souvenirs, we bought a lot, on average 20 dollars for a good Balinese mask, inexpensive and beautiful paintings, etc. Taxi to Kuta - $10 (ride 30 minutes). The city is essentially one big bazaar, like Alanya in Turkey - very similar, next to the souvenirs are D&G jeans for $ 20 : )))))))
Our second EXCURSION - a temple (essentially a forest) of monkeys + a kechak dance (outdoor performance on a beautiful rock, very impressive) + dinner in a fishing village (very tasty). All this cost about $40 per person.
We were in Bali for only 8 days, therefore, we didn’t take more excursions, but in general there is plenty to choose from, but mostly exotic - rafting, quad bikes in the jungle, etc. Holidays are not cheap, mainly because of the flight, so those who expect something exclusive for the money like a private villa on the ocean and breakfast in bed may be disappointed, but I think "the game is worth the candle. " As for the famous spa treatments - one massage $ 100, prices in restaurants - the level of Kiev, in the town it is cheaper but also easier. The food is specific, I love seafood, but everything is unsalted there, so it’s unusual, although there were no problems with meat and chicken. We ate such fruits that we didn’t even know about their existence! VERY EXOTIC!!!!! !
