Segara Village is set in 5 hectares of gardens, where there are 117 bungalows with modern amenities. This is a traditional family hotel. Despite the many modern touches needed to anticipate the needs of seasoned travelers, the hotel still remains true to its Balinese roots. Segara Village is located on the beach of the Sanur resort area, 15 km from the international airport. The hotel complex is built in the style of traditional Balinese villages. A tropical garden surrounds spacious thatched-roof bungalows.More →

We chose to fly with Singapore Airlines. I wanted to check the vaunted quality.
There are actually a lot of options to get to Bali.
On Thai airlines through Bangkok, Vietnamese through Hanoi, Qatari through Doha and Transaero flies directly to Denpasar.
All foreign airlines cost about the same, the difference is 50-70 euros per ticket.
Of course, the most economical option (in all respects) is Transaero (about 800 euros, not including airport surcharges when departing from Denpasar, about 20 dollars).
Direct flight for someone is a big plus, for us - rather a minus.
To get so far and see nothing but one island...
Therefore, the choice was unequivocal Bali + Singapore on Singapore Airlines.
You can buy a ticket on your own or through a tour operator, there is practically no difference in price,
if the tour operator "does not burn" places.
It happens, but tour operators discount prices for their blocks in 10 days, so the chance to catch the date you need is small.
We bought tickets from the a/k website with a credit card. The ticket cost 1080 euros per person with all fees, about 800 euros per child.

Registration. (starts at 3 o'clock)
!! ! If you pay for tickets with a credit card, be sure to take it with you, they require you to present it at registration !!!
As often happens, the desire to improve everything and make life easier for tourists turns into surprises. Singaporean airlines (hereinafter referred to as "sings") have such a service, self-check-in for a flight 48 hours in advance with the ability to choose a seat on the plane (for economy class, business seats can be reserved at the time of booking tickets with the operator).
So, on the appointed day, we went to the Sing website to reserve a seat (it happened 45 hours before departure) and found that my wife and child were sitting in different rows and not even across the aisle from each other. The computer itself reserves seats for the remaining chairs.
I tried to find a row through the site (it is possible to replace the seats if available) where we could all sit next to each other, but alas, all the seats on the plane were reserved.
On a call to the airline's office, the employees only "shrugged their shoulders" and said that they could not interfere with the operation of the site when reserving seats. It was recommended to approach the very beginning of registration.
We specifically left well in advance to be 3 hours before departure.
We arrived even a little early, registration was in full swing. A tail of 40 people did not bode well, we resigned ourselves.
But what makes sings good is that they have a bunch of racks for different classes.
No one at the first class counter.
I approach, I say that I called up and asked to come up early, "maybe they will come up with something. "
Two minutes of witchcraft in the computer and we are all sitting together.
Singaporeans once again confirmed the high level of service.

Flight.
We flew with a landing in Dubai (about 1.5 hours with the opportunity to warm up and visit the Dubai duty free). During the flight, we were fed and fed, and again fed and fed. Monitors built into the backs of the seats in front of you do not let you get bored the whole flight. About 80 films (unfortunately not in Russian), several music channels, all kinds of computer games.
Then Singapore. The airport is great! 2.5 hours flew by. Free internet, computer games, TV panels broadcasting sports and news. In the corner, special foot massagers were found, and also for free.
Dubai duty free is a general store compared to Singapore!

Bali.
Upon arrival, you will be subject to a rather serious check for the import of goods into the country that exceed the permitted limits. We were all right. But for example, our compatriots, who bought alcohol at the Singapore airport for a long vacation, were somewhat upset. You can only import 1 liter. alcohol per person.

We stayed at the Segara Village 4 * hotel in the town of Sanur. Most Russian tourists usually settle in Nusa Dua, where there are hotels with a large territory, several restaurants, and a full range of services.
Our hotel is quite simple by the standards of Nusaduav, but this is its advantage. Quiet, calm, no noisy crowds on the beach and by the pool. The rooms are very decent, though when booking you need to take immediately renovated (we had one). A separate entrance from the street, in front of the entrance there is a playground with a sofa and a table, you can relax reading a book or surf the Internet (there is Wi-Fi at the reception, finished off to our room).
Sanur is also good because there is a small promenade along the beach along all the hotels.
And along it a huge number of inexpensive bars, restaurants and shops.
The main street is quite long, walking from one end of the resort to the other is quite far.
We traveled from our hotel to one of the restaurants in another part of the resort by taxi (according to the counter 15.000 rupees). The rate at the time of our stay was 1 to 9000. Ksyutati if you change less than a hundred, the rate is lower and there is another feature. $100 bills of some years (it seems 93.96 and 2003) are changed only in a bank exchanger and the rate is lower than for bills of other years of issue. I have not seen anything about the euro.
Speaking of taxis and driving...
Taxi by Moscow standards is very cheap. For example, we traveled from Sanur to Kuta (one way) for 80.000 rupees (about $ 9) and this is about 25-30 minutes of travel.
You can take a "man with a car" for the whole day (about 8 hours) to drive around the island.
The prices for this service vary greatly. I read in other reviews that someone bargained for $ 25 with a taxi driver.
We turned to the company that accommodated us and the guide offered a car for the whole day with a specific excursion program agreed with him for $ 60.

First day of excursions (one day itinerary).
I will describe the route as I visit the sights.

Orchid Garden: adult $5, reb. 3$.
The garden is relatively small, but there are many different types of orchids.
Still, it's fun to walk around and pleasing to the eye.

Bird Park: adult $12.5, reb. $7 www. bali bird park. com
A huge variety of birds from all over the world. Plumage color of any color you can imagine.
They plant birds on visitors, you can take pictures with your camera.

From "door to door", from the Bird Park entrance to the Reptile Park: vzr. $9, reb. 5$.
They give to hold lizards and monitor lizards (2m long).
Temple. (name not remembered).
At the entrance to the temple it is customary to "donate" money.
In fact, this is an entrance fee. The cost is different everywhere from 2000 to 10000 rupees.
Somewhere, looking ahead, they ask you to leave an entry in the donation journal,
somewhere they give you a ticket.
In general, often on the way, stopping at the territory of various attractions, we were charged from 2.000 to 5.000 rupees for entry.
To enter the temple you need to go through the gates of Good and Evil (two vertical structures with a narrow passage between them). The left side represents Evil, the right side Good. Like black and white.
By the way, you will surely notice that the sacred sculptures are wrapped in checkered scarves.
We couldn't understand why. An escort came to the rescue.
The shawls are made of checkered fabric, alternating black and white checks,
which also represents Good and Evil.
There is no need to worry that your clothes do not match the sacred place.
At the entrance they give a special "skirt" for men, women and children.

Plantations of coffee and cocoa. The entrance is free.
They offer to try 5 types of drinks: just coffee, some kind of drink that resembles coffee with milk, tasty and very soft, lemon grass drink, cocoa and ginger tea.
At the exit there is a souvenir shop where they sell a special kind of coffee. Luwaka is an animal, eats coffee beans, they are fermented in his stomach and come out as a whole. Then they are cleaned.
Sachet 200gr. cost about $60 in the store. At the airport in the departure area 1 kg. costs 700$
You can also buy spices, souvenirs and simple coffee and tea there.

Volcano and lake.
The view of the volcano and the lake opens from different sides, so ask the guide to drive a little further along the road so that you can stop for photographs in several places.
Beautiful.
At each stop, local residents will annoyingly pester you and poke all sorts of things in your nose from calendar cards with a view of the volcano to a statue about 1 meter high, hand-carved from local woods.

Elephant safari park $53, reb. $34 if you ride an elephant, but you can just look at the elephants, it will be cheaper.
Compared to other attractions, the elephant park is a little more expensive, but the experience of riding an elephant is worth it. For those who ride a camel, at first it seems that there is no difference, and only in the process you realize that an elephant is very different from a camel. The mind of this huge animal is felt.
The whole attraction takes about half an hour.
I came across a "driver" who had already typed Russian words.
Apparently our compatriots come here quite often.
Conversing in a mixture of Russian and broken English, he told a sad story about
that the bulk of the population of the island earns a day from 5 to 10 dollars.
Data on "tea" about 2 dollars in local currency delighted him and he thanked us for a long time.

We got out on the next voyage after 5 days, exploring the island on our own during this period of time.
Mostly visiting Kuta (more on that separately) and walking and sunbathing on the beach in Sanur.

Route 2 (full day).

Royal Palace.
One of the largest architectural complexes on the island.
Entrance symbolic 10.000 rupees per person.
It's nice to walk around the territory and take colorful photos.

On the way to Lake Bratan, we stopped at the market.
There are a wide variety of fruits here.
We saw many of them in the vegetable section of a supermarket in Kuta (Mata Hari),
but some we saw for the first time. I will not reproduce the names of all the fruits.
Of course, in the supermarket it is 2 times cheaper, but take a couple of fruits and make local sellers happy (if you remember that $ 5 for local residents is a lot of money).

Temple on Lake Bratan, Tana Khlot.
Also a symbolic entrance fee, about $ 1 per person.
A very pleasant place. Although it would seem that there is only one temple standing on the water.
But I did not want to leave this place for a long time. If not for the beginning rain.
Which, by the way, shouldn't have happened at this time of year.
As soon as we left the lake, the sky cleared and the sun came out.

Dinner.
On the way, we stopped at a hotel along the way of our route, where we took advantage of the buffet with a view of the rice terraces.

Monkey forest.
Monkeys are different...
We heard many stories about the annoying inhabitants of the local forests. What are they grabbing
behind the ears, nose, break the chains, scratch. The guide confirmed this information, but said,
that it is in places where monkeys live far from people.
True, my daughter did not dare to feed the monkeys.

Temple on the Sea (Uluwatu). Sacred cave sprinkled with holy water. Stunning sunset views.
It was decided to finish the excursion program with a visit to the temple, which stands right above the cliff in the sea and admire the sunset.
We arrived just in time. There were 25-30 minutes left before sunset. At the entrance to the territory of the temple complex, another donation was taken from us (about $ 1 per person).
The view is really amazing - we made a bunch of beautiful pictures.
The entrance to the temple itself was closed, and in addition to approaching the rock on which it stands, you need to overcome a small area, which is periodically curled by a tidal wave.
A queue gathered at the rock, to the entrance to the cave (we thought it was the entrance to the temple).
In fact, this is a sacred cave where a source of fresh water springs.
And really, where can fresh water come from directly into the sea?
At the source, the monks perform a cleansing procedure for everyone and "endow" good luck.
To do this, you need to defend a small queue and when yours comes up, once again donate money.
Moreover, the monk monitors whether you put a coin or a piece of paper.
The wife went with her daughter and put at once for two. The daughter went first, and the wife after her.
So, with a gesture, the monk asked her to make a donation, because he saw that the money was put in for the girl, but the second time they didn’t put it. I had to explain that they had already "donated". The hitch did not last long, a maximum of a minute.
But then we took pictures with rice grains glued to the forehead and a flower behind the ear.

Thus ended our second day of sightseeing.

Beach massage.
Throughout the beach, they offer to crumple, stroke, comb, file different parts of your body.
On our beach, 1 hour of massage (general, all parts of the body) is offered for 80.000 local money. We bargained for a foot massage for two 120.000 rupees (1 hour).
Plus, for 60.000 rupees for two, a foot scrub.
I assume that in other parts of the island prices may differ slightly.

Food prices.
The cost of a main course in a restaurant varies from 30.000 ($3.5) to 200.000 ($22) rupees.
Seafood dishes on average from 60.000 ($6.5) to 100.000 ($11) rupees.
Juices around 15.000 ($1.7) rupees.
Cocktails (alcoholic) from 30.000 ($4) to 60.000 ($6.5) rupees.
Salads from 20.000 ($2.5) to 50.000 ($5.5) rupees.
Local beer (better than, say, Baltika or Ochakovo) for 0.33l about 20.000 ($2.5), for 0.62l (local size) about 30.000 ($3.5) rupees.
Good wine (Australia) from 200.000 ($22) rupees per bottle and above.
It's all in the restaurant.
In the store, of course, 2 times cheaper.

We were advised to go and enjoy the sunset in the town of Jimbaran.
The place is famous for the luxury hotels of Fort Season and IterContinental.
Along the seashore, there are many cafes side by side, the tables are piled directly on the sand.
A lot of tourists gather here in the evening, so it’s better to come a little in advance (if you are going to watch the sunset), at half past six.
You can later, just the tables closer to the water will already be all occupied.
Here is the realm of Seafood. Lobsters, crabs, sea prawns, giant river prawns (we ordered - very tasty! ).
It's all on the grill. Prices are negotiable per kilogram, you should immediately ask the waiter.
We were recommended cafe MENEGA.
We ordered mussels, lobster, giant river prawns and drinks, spirits and juices (very tasty watermelon juice). Plus, they will bring you a bucket of rice and vegetables. We spent a total of two and a half hours (with the expectation of an order - the main dishes are carried for a long time). It all cost us about 70 USD in terms of dollars. e. Quite expensive by local standards. Plus a taxi round trip for 25.000 rupees. Total about $ 100, but for three.

Kuta.
Entertainment and shopping center.
In the central part, all the streets are a neighborhood of shops, souvenir shops and restaurants.
There are quite large shopping centers such as "Discovery", "Mata Hari".
They are similar to such stores as TSUM in Moscow, Court Ingles in Spain, many different departments and brands, the quality of goods is quite average, but you can find normal things.
For example, we decided to change the suitcase, ours has already worn out from a long service life and frequent use.
Suitcase brands are quite decent Polo, Delsay, Samsonite. A very good suitcase can be bought for $100-150.
We also bought souvenirs in the shopping center, a very large selection and, as I already wrote, everything is the same as at tourist sites, only several times cheaper.
It's very cool to see Dolce Gabbana stores in all parts of the city (in very large numbers).
The most interesting thing is that there are even holograms of authenticity on the goods, the same ones we saw in Italy, where we periodically come for sales. Only here these things cost (with the label Dolce, Maschino, Boss, etc. , about $ 10-20 for a shirt, T-shirt, trousers). Come in, check it out yourself.
And we had the opportunity to thoroughly study the departure zone after the border. It should be noted that there is something to do there, not Singapore, of course, and it was not worth it nearby. But nevertheless, there are quite a lot of cafes and restaurants, SPA salons, souvenirs, etc. Time flew by quickly, but it “flew” better in Singapore.
Instead of taking off at 8 am, the plane took off at 4 pm and we lost a whole day that we could devote to exploring Singapore. So we had to run around Singapore with our tongues out. But we managed to see the main sights.
But that is another story. There will be time to state and post it on the network, but to be honest, I probably won’t add anything very different from the reviews that I read on the network before the trip about Singapore.
True, we were lucky when we were already working the Ferris wheel.

To all who read this note, have a good rest.
If you need any additional information, write to ashmelkov@yandex.
ru, I will try to answer your questions myself or address those who know about Indonesia and Singapore much more than me. These are employees of the company through which I purchased the accommodation.
