They brought us to the hotel at 5 am. . . settled at 7. We had to bargain to bring a refrigerator. . . from 20 dollars they bargained to 10. The air conditioner was not turned on because its work is paid separately at a rate of $5 per day. It is quite possible to live in a room! Nefig expect here idial cleanliness and new furniture with European-style renovation. If you want a European-style renovation, go to Europe or pay 2 times more and take a 4-star hotel. Some people will have a bigger mess in their house, but they come here and download rights... In the rooms, the floors are washed with some kind of detergent, which then, as it were, sticks to the feet. As I drove into the room, poured a bucket of water (each room has a bucket and a ladle), a little potassium permanganate and quickly wiped the floor, and I was happy! Don't expect from Indians what you sometimes can't expect from yourself. Well, they will not understand, the mentality is different. Do not be lazy to bring everything to mind. Half an hour of wasted time and joy for several days. If you need to clean the room and change the bed, leave the keys at the reception and ask them to clean up, and everything will be done. The fan kept the heat and mosquitoes away. We did a big stupid thing by listening to one of the reviews when we brought mosquito repellent with us! Local mosquitoes do not know this smell! These bloodsuckers did not understand that this smell should be feared, on the contrary, it seems they were having a party and flew in to sniff. I had to buy local spirals and a fumigator, and they are cheaper here! The mosquitoes subsided, but the most stoned still did their bloody work. The only salvation from these vampires is creams and aerosols applied to the skin and hair (and even those brought from here from Russia)!!!! ! Get yourself what you want!! ! They asked for a room so that the windows looked somewhere to the side... not onto the pool or onto the street....as a result, the windows overlooked the backyard of the cafe....albeit not very beautiful, but quiet. And they didn't regret it. At first there were a lot of Indians in the hotel, but they didn't bother. . . they came to Goa to have a rest for the festival of colors, they behaved quietly and friendly. . . When the Indians left, the Russians stopped by! That's where it was a shame for Russia! This drunk, fat, boorish cattle (a Russian company, I didn’t really look closely, as they saw them by the pool, turned around and left) managed to rent a motorcycle in a hotel and crash it, and then also refused to pay for repairs! By the pool, these drunken brainless bodies yelled with a good obscenity, jumped into the pool with screams, dousing frightened guests with water, scattered cigarette butts, scandalized with the staff, insulting him. And yelling “Tagil” was just the height of perfection….
By the pool, a guy named Purno is constantly spinning like an administrator. Delivers beer if available, gives out towels. He speaks fluent Russian. We resolved all issues through him. We rented a scooter and took a tour. The tour cost $30 per person when it costs $100 through a guide. Scooter, if taken for a day - 300 rupees per day, if for 5 then 250 rupees per day. Gasoline at a gas station is 50-60 rupees per liter, if you buy it in bottles on the street, then 100 r. Also, don't forget that there is left-hand traffic and before rolling out onto a busy highway, I practiced on an empty road behind the hotel... there are those too. It does not hurt to have a map of India and a navigation program in your smartphone. Without GPS, I would not have dared to go to distant beaches... maybe I didn’t even take a scooter at all!
With the Indians, always be on the alert. In any situation, they will try to deceive and outwit you. No need to be offended by this, they are like children, you just need to keep this in mind. Always count your change. When renting a bike, take a picture of it from different angles so that its owner also gets into the frame…
On the road, everyone is constantly beeping. I, a driver with 12 years of experience, never managed to comprehend this intricate language of communication between Indian drivers, but I myself also bleeped with all my might....In the style of "Spartacus Champion".
Every day, being there, I wanted to spit in the face of the one who wrote in the comments that the food there is cheap....the food there is like we have in cafes and restaurants, we have in Ulyanovsk. Therefore, for example, if a resident of Moscow or the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug comes to Ulyanovsk, then for him, as in India, food will be cheap in restaurants and cafes. But if a resident of Ulyanovsk or a similar region goes to India....then he will eat like at home only in a restaurant.
Therefore, to everyone who travels to India with the hope that there is cheap food, first correlate your income with the income of the one who writes that everything is cheap there, otherwise you may expect a very unpleasant surprise. Personally, this surprise did not touch us much....Saved by ATMs. BY THE WAY! Russians without the help of local natives will not be able to cope with their ATMs the first time, so don’t even try. They work in a completely different way, do not torture yourself or an ATM. As you leave the hotel immediately to the right. A security guard sits in front of the glass door, and there is an ATM machine behind the door. There is also a bank branch, behind another glass door opposite the ATM, employees are sitting and working… ask them and they will be happy to help you withdraw the local currency…. For 1000 rupees, the commission is 100, for 5000 the commission is 200... in general, it is quite acceptable! For approximate orientation in prices, we can assume that 1 rub. = 1 rupee
But the most profitable of course is to pay with cards immediately for the goods, if you buy something in a supermarket. If you leave the hotel and go left....Then on the left side after 20-25 minutes of walking and deftly jumping out from under the wheels of beeping scooters there will be a Newtons supermarket. And a little further "Dolphin". They accept all cards for payment without any problems. The prices are of course fixed and not high.
In the markets, many are already aware, of course, you have to bargain. But again, be careful. Always have an exchange to pay without change...
In general, returning to the description of the hotel, it is very good that there is a pool! The water is clean and doesn't smell. It helps a lot when lazily trudging to the ocean. The area is clean and well maintained. And the cunning Purno will always help if anything.
Yes, one more thing, in all cafes, and in the hotel by the pool, there is free Wi-Fi, but not always there is Internet in this Wi-Fi. The internet is tight. Look at the mail, send a photo, for this you can find the Internet, but crackle on Skype or download a movie....Forget!
Sometimes the light goes out! Always have a flashlight with you if you go to a cafe, beach or restaurant in the evening. Reflective bracelets on arms and legs will not be superfluous... We wore them and everyone around looked at them with envy.
It seems that he told everything, both about the hotel and about life and about the Indians...
I hope this treatise will help anyone to survive a vacation in India and perhaps even enjoy it.
In general, I did not regret the trip. Hope to return.

There is no such spiritual atmosphere anywhere. And so I envy you a little, because you are just getting ready, exploring hotels, beaches, etc. Okay, more to the point. Hotel Dona Teresina is located on a very busy street, so if you like peace and quiet, then ask for rooms in the back. We got rooms, or rather a room with two bedrooms and a common living room (the so-called: )), with a balcony on this most noisy street. I thought it was impossible to sleep in such conditions, but I was wrong. We were so tired during the day that I passed out in a minute. When we checked into the room, of course, we were shocked, probably like everyone else who gets into an Indian hotel for the first time : )) There is nothing superfluous in the room, very modestly. I already wrote that we had a joint room for two couples with two bedrooms. Our friends were more fortunate, they had two beds combined together, a table with a mirror and a closet. We only have a bed and two bedside tables. There were two toilets, thank God. In general, the rooms are very modest, but clean! ! There were no living creatures except mosquitoes and ants. If you do not want to be bitten by mosquitoes, do not open the windows at night, the fan is enough. The hotel area is clean and well-groomed, there are many palm trees, the pool, by the way, is clean, you can swim. Breakfast is very poor, we never ate. Once we ordered breakfast, delicious burgers, but they wanted to talk to us, after that we never ate there. The rooms are cleaned only upon request, leave the key at the reception and you will be clean : ) In general, we only came to the hotel to wash and sleep, so I can’t tell anything more about the hotel. The location of the hotel is quite convenient, opposite the Newtons supermarket, where you can buy rum, cola, chips and even hair dye : ) I forgot to write about the course, the hotel has a good course, you can change it. The hotel is located between the beaches of Candolim and Calangute, we went the shortest way: we crossed the road (by the way, the first days, it was very difficult because of the crazy traffic) and left until the first turn to the right. There is a street with shops, shops, restaurants. It takes about 10 minutes to the beach with a measured step. We really liked Calangute beach, it is the busiest. I already wrote that the hotel is located between Calangute and Candolim, Calangute to the right, Candolim to the left. We walked along the beach along the sea to the right to the very center of Calangute. We were also on Baga, but we didn’t like it, the food is more expensive and tasteless. We really liked the Hard Rock Cafe shake, it’s quite cheap, very tasty, the staff has no words at all, we became very friends with the guys (Jimmy, Valera (very funny curly-haired guy), San and Mummy (that’s what we called him, I don’t know his name: ))) In the evenings, they also came here, a couple of times they arranged a disco with our flash drive, it was a lot of fun. On the last evening, we all drank rum together with the workers and sang songs until the morning)) We didn’t go on excursions much, because we didn’t want to spend precious days traveling in the heat. We ourselves went to the south of Goa to Palolem beach, our friends rested there, the beach is very beautiful, but very boring there. Just go there to take a picture and go back. We also traveled along the northern beaches: Vagator, Ashvem, Morjim, Mandrem. It is worth a trip to Vagator, where it is more picturesque and on the left in the stones lies a statue of the face of Shiva. You can go to Ashvem, if you go left through the stones, you will come to Morjim, a very beautiful beach!! ! To the right is Mandrem. People in India are very kind and responsive, if you speak at least a little English, then you are generally lucky, they are very inquisitive, they will tell and show everything. In short, you can still write and write. I have never received so many impressions. The sea is a completely separate issue! It is so big, stormy, warm!! ! Having visited Goa once, you still want to go there again!!!! !

I want to leave my review about a trip to GOA. Maybe something will be useful to someone, the reviews helped me personally. Before going to GOA, I read a lot of reviews of those who have been there, basically all the reviews are correct and adequate. So I had a lot of information and was ready for anything.
Our hotel “Dona Teresina” was probably built in the 1950s, the furniture of the same years of production, if someone in Russia went to the outback, such as Uryupinsk, the same thing. The room did not have: air conditioning, TV, kettle, hot water (we did not need it), but fortunately there were no animals either. I brought a boiler with me, it helped out a lot (you can buy it there, I saw a set there: a boiler, a glass and something else). In principle, we only needed a room for an overnight stay (we arrived late, got up early). Minus the fact that the pool was open until 6 o'clock. evenings. Well, everything else was good. Our hotel is very well located: at the exit on the left (10 meters) the inexpensive Babutes Restaurant and their own shop, right across the road (20 meters) a restaurant and a shop, very convenient. Well, behind them are shops, restaurants, exchangers, cafes such as Baskins Robins, etc. It takes 7-10 minutes to the Calangute beach, along Holiday Street past these shops, tents, massage parlors. I liked that you can buy something, things, fruits, look, chat, while you go you get some information.
Our Calangute beach is really, probably the best, I would even compare it with KATA BEACH in Phuket (Thailand), I even forgot where I am now. Sea, Sun, sand (by the way, singing like Phuket's Karon Beach) - everything is great. True, somewhere in the second half of the day the waves and currents began. It was cool for us men, but the girls got it.
The coastline combines several beaches of Baga, Calangute, Candolim to Fort Aguda and is approximately 6 km. We walked along all these beaches, we did not sit still. You buy, lie down and move on. Throughout the entire journey of the neck-café , you will not remain hungry, the price is basically the same for everyone (we were not tied to any one place). They don't charge money for sunbeds if you order anything from them.
Somehow we decided to walk to Fort Aguda. We passed the entire beach line, then went along a deserted path along the coastline. We took a lot of interesting pictures, on the rocks, in a cave (we saw it by chance, went down from the cliff, took pictures, and rested there). We reached the wall of the Fort, climbed a steep path and got into the fort itself. If anyone decides to take a walk, go to the very end, to the wall. You will see a small white lighthouse, go straight to it along the path, a little higher and there will be Fort Aguda. Were on other beaches: Anjuna did not like the rocky bottom, Ashvem - well, less people, that's all. So I agree with many reviews, our beach is the best. Other beaches are visited only because of a tick, like they were there. It’s a pity we didn’t have time to go from Baga along the coastal path to Anjuna, our friends went there. You can kill several birds with one stone if you go on Wednesday: firstly, the trip itself, secondly, during the day, an excellent clothing market, thirdly, the beach itself, and fourthly, in the evening at the Lilliput restaurant, a cult trance party with GOA trance music and interesting people. True, sometimes the party will not take place if the organizers do not agree with the police.
They didn’t take motorbikes, as it immediately formed a company of us, they took mostly taxis, went on long excursions, and then they got used to it and no longer wanted to. Regarding excursions, we didn’t want to take from guides - it’s expensive, but because of their indifference.
We got such a story, on the second day I was thrown into the sea by a wave against the bottom and I badly bruised or dislocated my big toe. I thought it was a fracture, turned blue, everything was swollen.
Didn't go to the doctors. In the evening, the youth dragged me to Baga, to the Titos club. And from Baga we decided to go on foot to our Calangute, somewhere in the middle of the way we saw a travel agency, everything was in Russian, there was also a medical office. The owner turned out to be an indis by the name of Charlie, who speaks excellent Russian. He also turned out to be a doctor, he has four higher educations, the first he received from us in St. Petersburg, at the Institute. Mechnikov, besides, he is an Ayurvedic doctor (herbal treatment), he also has Ayurvedic massage parlors. In the end, we got to talking and became friends. He examined my injury, said that there was no fracture, immediately sent someone for ointment, and did not take money from me (after the start of treatment, everything went away after three days). And in the future, throughout the vacation, we constantly kept in touch with him. We took excursions from him, he gave us good discounts, for example, two excursions cost $ 150 in total, he sold us for $ 100. Plus, as friends, we already asked him to always be with us, it was very convenient for us, our guide, and even a personal doctor. Once, on a long trip, my son became ill, Charlie stopped the car at some tree, picked the fruit and said it should be eaten. It was all over after lunch. We turned to him as an Ayurveda doctor with our sores and problems. He wrote out prescriptions for everyone, gave medicines on medicinal herbs. They also did Ayurvedic massages in his salons, the prices are slightly higher than on the beach, but he used pure oils. In other salons, they used oils drained from someone else. Charlie brought us different types of tea at our request, straight from the plantation. I really liked the rose. They took a lot of other things from him, therapeutic toothpastes, Himalayan stone (good after shaving, relieves skin irritation, heals cuts), and many others.
We liked Charlie as a kind, good person. Yes, he can still come to the call as a doctor.
I really liked the people in GOA, good-natured, sympathetic. Before the trip, there was a doubt that traders would pester, pull beggars by the hands. It turned out that the fears were in vain, the traders walked along the beaches, offered to buy something, but you don’t need to say anything, they left. I didn’t see beggars on the beach, but they sat somewhere, if you want to give it, but no, you go your own way, no one bothers. I really liked the women, both young and old. Mostly everyone is beautiful, and the rest are just pretty. All are smartly dressed, proud (as in the Caucasus), slender, straight posture.
I want to mention one case. Somehow we were wrapped up and did not have time to exchange money. We had lunch on the beach in a cafeteria, and we did not have enough money to pay off. Well, of course they said, we'll bring it tomorrow. The young mistress looked at us carefully and said, if you don’t have money, I can lend you as much as you need, bring it in when you can. Our surprise knew no bounds. After all, we were with them once and were not going to come again. In the morning we had task number 1 to find this cafe and return the money. Of course, we paid more money for such an attitude.
And one more thing that we learned at the end of the holiday. Money can be changed in these cafeterias on the beach with the owners. The rate is higher than in ordinary exchangers, for example, we changed at the rate of 53.7 and 53.8 per dollar, and they gave 55 rupees for 1 dollar. They asked why so, they say the local population is not allowed to buy currency.
I want to note one more thing, at about 10 am, the cleaning of the beaches by public utilities begins. There is a team of workers along the shore and cleans up the entire beach area.
Rescuers sit all over the beach at a distance of 100-200 meters, in direct line of sight from each other, so they can communicate not only by radio, but also by flags. Every 20-30 minutes, a rescue service runs in cars along the coast. And the lifeguards are really on guard. There are flags along the shore: red and yellow-red, I thought it was a storm warning.
I did not immediately understand why the rescuers were chasing their fellow tribesmen. A lot of people from other states of India come to rest on the beach. It turned out they were driven into the zone marked with yellow-red flags, so as not to interfere with other vacationers. On the one hand, we feel good, but for the locals there is some kind of injustice.
Taxis were taken from our hotel and from others. At first, ours are jammed with prices, but we immediately named our price (as experienced, we read reviews). If they did not agree, then we immediately went to others (every 20 meters there is a taxi rank), and they took it there. For example, we were immediately announced 700 rupees, we agreed from 500 to 300 rupees.
It's good for party girls in GOA. In nightclubs such as Kuban, LPK, Titos, admission is free for girls and alcoholic drinks are the same. Guys entry 1000-1500 rupees.
In general, only good memories remain, maybe someday I will visit this country one more time, because. I did not complete the program - I could not visit the theater and go to a concert.
Sincerely, Alexander.
Zelenograd, Moscow.

A boiler in the store was brought from home. across the road (Newtons), it was everything. And it is not true that there is nothing in India, everything is there. The prices are very small. But you should always bargain. (but there are shops with a fixed price). To the beach for about 15 minutes slowly, we left the rescue tower to the left, to the neck of the Red Lobster we mostly ate there. The owner Ali always has a charming smile on his face, Michael, Sasha communicate tolerably in Russian, they will always help with the choice of food and with other problems. There is no need to drink rum for disinfection, there were no problems during the 11 days of stay. The day market in Ajuna is a delightful sight, a taxi from the hotel costs 600 rupees (there and back and 2 hours of waiting). We took excursions with a Russian woman, everything went smoothly, I won’t say anything bad about Pegasus as a tour operator either. Everything was on time and without complaints. . Thank you guys! We just left with tears in our eyes, there was no $ 10 fee at the airport, they carried as much as they wanted in hand luggage. If there was an opportunity only to that hotel (by the way, they didn’t use the safe, there was no theft) and again in GOA.

To the fruit market (where fruits are 5 times cheaper than near the hotel) - 30 minutes on foot. You can take a taxi - 100 rupees (about 67 rubles), even better by bus for 5 rupees! There are rooms with air conditioning (+ TV) and without air conditioning (no TV, but with a ceiling fan). I advise you to take the second option, because. there are no Russian channels on TV and the air conditioner is sometimes buggy. The fan and ventilation is enough! Also, lots of mosquitoes. You need to take something with you or buy it there. NECESSARILY. I will be glad to answer all your questions: what to see, where to go, what and where to buy, where not.
