We recently went on vacation to India. Impressions - just a sea. We used the services of Sanmar and met our expectations - everything was very great! And without any problems they changed our room - instead of the first floor, they wanted to go to the second (it seemed to us - damp, and the lizard on the floor scared me). The room is huge, spacious and very bright, two balconies. The rooms were cleaned every day to a shine, the linen was also changed daily. The staff is very friendly, constantly smiling and in a hurry to help in any matter, they quickly remember which room you are from and your preferences. It’s really far from the sea, twenty-five minutes. So it's better to take a taxi. There is a small pool on the territory of the hotel, it is cleaned every day. Insects were not seen in large numbers - only a couple of ants and a lizard.

We stayed at this hotel from March 14 to March 22.2012. Located at the entrance to Calangute, next to the Church of St. Alex. Located at the entrance to Calangute, next to the Church of St. Alex. The hotel is not bad, divided into several buildings, the facade of the building was moldy in some places, which made the exterior look a little depressing. On the territory there is a small pool in the form of a fish, around the sun loungers and a lot of green tropical plants. The rooms are large, upon check-in we changed the room for free, which we didn’t like, because the balconies overlooked the walls of the neighboring building... in the end we got a great large room on the second floor. Since there were three of us (DBL + extra bed) - and there were 2 beds in the room, then immediately after check-in they brought extra. a bed, which is something like a folding bed with stable legs and a very soft mattress, as a result, we got 3 equivalent beds, there is also a sofa, 2 armchairs, a refrigerator, a separate kitchenette without a stove, 2 balconies, one of which overlooked the pool, the other overlooking the reception. Bed linen and towels of an earthy color without any shade of white))) Hot water in the shower was only 2 times, which turned cold in a short time))) We did not observe living creatures in the room, except for a couple of ants and a couple of small lizards, there were no mosquitoes either It was. But we didn’t particularly bother with this topic, because we only spent the night at the hotel... Breakfasts are an omelet with vegetables, a glass of mango juice, toasts with jam, tea or coffee, sometimes we were offered an Indian breakfast, consisting of flatbread, potato sauce and spices + tea or coffee and toast. Cooked delicious. The staff is friendly, everyone smiles and quickly remembers the room number and preferences of the guests. Near the hotel there are noisy streets with a variety of mini-markets, souvenirs, clothes, etc. Walking to the sea is a bit far: 20-25 minutes, it is better to take a taxi, auto rickshaw or rent a scooter. There were no problems with a taxi, make sure that the numbers are yellow, all carriers are willing to bargain. The beach in Calangute is very crowded, mostly locals are found, On neighboring beaches: Candolim beach on the left and Baga beach on the right, there are fewer locals, but there are more Europeans and Russians))) The sea is restless, the waves are small, frequent low tides and high tides. In the necks on the beach, food is almost the same price, so you can choose any, everywhere the food is very tasty. In general, every day we went to different beaches (Calangute, Candolim, Arambol, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga and Ashvem) and spent time there with pleasure. I especially liked the beaches of Arambol, Anjuna and Ashvem. You need to go to Arambol in the morning and for the whole day - this beach is the most remote from Calangute, there is a lake with fresh water, a cat. located behind the mountain and then if you go deep into the jungle you will find the Banyan Tree)) Sunsets in Arambol are the most beautiful, the main thing is that the weather is clear. Nightlife: The most fashionable club in GOA is Cubana (Boar). The club is located in Arpora on a hill. A beautiful multi-tiered club with a swimming pool and panoramic views of most of North Goa. Dance light music. Entrance on Wednesdays for girls is free, men pay 500 rupees, on this day there are a lot of people and many locals in the club. We also visited the Liliput club in Anjuna - the club is located on the seashore, you can dance inside the club, or you can dance on the sand on the street next to the tables, a pleasant atmosphere and music. In general, music rumbles all over the coast in the necks at night, but there are very few people there, and there are always a lot of Russians in these clubs... Traffic in the city is very intense, most of them ride bikes or scooters - it's fast, convenient and cheap, sometimes there is not enough for pedestrians places and on the side of the road))) Sacred animals-cows walk along the beach, and indeed everywhere, on foot, they look into cafes, moo, lie on the sand, rummage through the garbage, wherever you look everywhere they are all different, but calm. Elephants were seen on the street only in Anjuna… Be sure to try the local Old Monk rum (dark) and Mc Dowells white rum very well combined with Coca-Cola and fruit, order KINGFISH fish in the necks – the price is not indicated on the menu, but before cooking you they will offer a choice of several whole fish and announce the cost, depending on the weight, the portion is very large: we took one fish for two, French fries and vegetables were garnished... everything is included in the price, the average cost of KINGFISH is from 500-600 rupees, we also took shark and lobster (ordered a day in advance), the procedure is the same, the cost is from 1000 rupees. I also recommend cheese-garlic cakes (cheese garlic naan) are available in almost every restaurant (cost from 40 to 90 rupees) are very suitable for KINGFISHER beer and tiger prawns. Excursion to Hampi: Since we only came for a week, we didn’t plan excursions, but after reading reviews and listening to admiring reviews from guides, we decided to go to this “wonderful place” after all. In general, in short, this is a 2-day excursion with a visit to all the ruins of the old ruined city, meeting sunrise and sunset, etc. . e, guides ask for all this 150-220 dollars per person! (a lot of money for Hindus! ), but we found a one-day tour to Hampi for $ 75 per person: it includes overnight trips on a slipper bass - the bus is somewhat similar to a reserved seat on a train, the upper recumbent shelves (with curtains)) are double, there are also single rooms, if you go alone, then most likely you will have a neighbor or neighbor with you). The one-way trip is about 12 hours (departure at 6-7 pm and arrival at the place at 7-8 am). Do not overpay for air conditioning in the sleepbus, judging by the reviews, people were very cold. We went without air conditioning and it was quite comfortable. Upon arrival in Hampi, we were met by a taxi driver who took us to a hotel and then an hour later took us to Hampi, where a "Russian-speaking guide" was already waiting for us, only in fact he knew only a couple of words in Russian, the rest of the time he spoke English) )) The ruins themselves made a really indelible impression, which really began to be smeared when the thermometer column climbed up, and the heat only gained momentum))) For visiting the ruins, the "Russian-speaking guide" charged us 500 rupees (this was, in principle, stipulated when buying an excursion ) and a few more times 50 rupees for storing shoes (on the territory of the Virupaksha temple you should walk barefoot), an offering in the temple (to make a wish come true), feeding an elephant, etc. We must pay tribute to the guide, although we did not understand even half, from what he told us, he took pictures of us very willingly and a lot)))) After Hampi we were taken back to the hotel to change clothes and take a shower, then we ate at a local restaurant: the prices were very pleased, but the food was very spicy, and the menu lacked all seafood: shrimp, fish and chicken, etc. . q were only vegetarian spicy dishes. After lunch around 18-00 we sat down on the slipper bass and drove back. Impressions from visiting Hampi remained ambiguous, the second time we would not go there, plus it was too hot and a very tiring road. I would also like to note that a lot of people go to Hampi as savages, you can read more details here http://100dorog. ru/club/stories/797638/2/, the review is presented in sufficient detail and with all travel expenses. A few tips: Do not change money at the airport upon arrival: the rate is very low + they take a commission, it is not difficult to find an exchanger near the hotel, upon departure Duty free is very small, it consists of 2 small rooms, with cramped aisles, in which Russo tourists huddle ))), the choice is very small, there are only a few bottles of perfume, there is no cosmetics at all, there is alcohol, but the choice is small, plus the prices are indicated only in USD and judging by the disgruntled faces of our compatriots, they only accept dollars, i. e. if You will be left with rupees, then it will be quite problematic to spend them when departing from Goa. And yet...... learn English, without it it will be quite problematic to communicate and explain something to someone)))
