March 2010…… I liked it! despite the first impression on the night when our taxi stopped near a suspicious building, in the dim light of street lamps ...if the name we were looking for was not on the end of the building, one could really think that the taxi driver had lost his way and decided to say goodbye to us as soon as possible . … More ▾ March 2010…… I liked it! despite the first impression on the night when our taxi stopped near a suspicious building, in the dim light of street lamps ...if the name we were looking for was not on the end of the building, one could really think that the taxi driver had lost his way and decided to say goodbye to us as soon as possible ....
Reception-…. . I have never seen anything like this before… as such, there is NO reception… IT’S just a hole (like a window) in a concrete wall… the receptionists themselves apparently slept sweetly, not expecting the arrival of 2 wonderful tourists, who later entertained them for 14 days… . The awakened guy from the reception came out to meet me in a hastily dressed shirt: part of the collar is “on the left” side, the other part is “on the right”, which at that moment (I had not yet “departed” from the appearance of the hotel) didn’t amuse me at all ...but when we also told him that we did not have passports! ! ! because
they stayed at the customs, he finally woke up and looked at us with suspicion himself ...but after the nativity scene at the customs at the Goa airport, our mood was more combative. Than he has, and we looked at him with 4 eyes SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOl it ago that he hurried to give us the key to the room. Having risen to the room, looking around, we relaxed a little ...everything is quite decent ....At night we went out onto the balcony (quite spacious, but it’s a pity that there are no chairs and a table on the balcony, we had to drag heavy chairs from the room, and the table ....We adapted the table from under the TV set, took the table to the balcony forever) and again were horrified by the landscape : Opposite the building is very similar to ours, as if from the ashes, on the road there is some kind of ship in an incomprehensible design ....We went into the room and decided that enough stress for today!
In the morning everything turned out to be not so sad ...they brought breakfast to the room ...also a rather sad sight: bread for toast, jam, butter, tea + coffee (there is a coffee pot and a toaster and a refrigerator in the room too) ...coffee was brought in bags straight with a whole machine-gun belt, tea - sometimes they didn’t bring it, sometimes 5-6 bags ...
Air conditioning…. It’s not central at all, but individual, in the window, purrs like a wild animal ...there are 2 fans on the ceiling ...there are a lot of switches / switches on the walls ...this is all in order to make this or that object work: fan, air conditioner, lamps, lamps, sockets ...with an outlet we had an embarrassment ....We were warned about the presence of mosquitoes, which are different from our relatives, Russian ones ...we honestly took Mosquitol and its tablets with us ....From the first night they began to stick the device into the outlet and slept peacefully ...on 3-4 in the morning I found bites on myself that caused a zhzhzhzhuuuuuuuuuuut itching ....
These bites after 2-3 hours turned into huge painful blisters ...and mosquitoes as such were not found in the room ...some of them are completely inconspicuous, silent ...the body was sick for 3 days ...and what happened? ! And the fact that when we plugged the "killer" for insects into the outlet, we forgot to turn on this outlet! All in all! But for 1.5 weeks, Goan mosquitoes have been haunting us for my dear and have never choked!....so carefully flip all the on / off switches, this will help you maintain your health and not spoil your vacation ...night 2 we could not sleep with the air conditioner on ( because of his roar), but, having started an active lifestyle, coming to the room at 3 am, we turned on EVERYTHING that buzzes-roars-mumbles-and blows and slept ABSOLUTELY NOTHING heard ....!! ! ! !
Cleaning in the room: the guy who brought us breakfast, he also cleaned the room.
Cleaning could take place daily, but we didn’t need it so often, they asked in 1-2 days, on the same days they changed the bed, towels were laid out with swans, fans, sometimes he was not in the mood and there were no compositions ....Shampoos - shower gels brought on request, also in a strange amount (either in handfuls, or by the piece) ....

From the hotel description:
Hotel infrastructure:
- spacious hall
Whoever shows me this spacious hall will receive a bonus! Haven't found one, not even close to...Awww, hooool???...
Entertainment and sports:
- outdoor swimming pool on the roof of the hotel
We honestly searched...And during the day they climbed to the roof and at night with a flashlight ....Alas… the pool on the roof is a mirage….

But in fact and by and large: the hotel is located, perhaps, in the most central place: here you have 100 m to the left of the Newton supermarket, to the right is an Internet cafe (very nondescript, though), there you can make international calls at more than democratic prices! On mob.
tel to Russia - 4-5 rubles / minute, to a landline number to Russia - 2 times more expensive, there are private exchangers and banks nearby. The central road to Candolim Beach is very close, 10-15 minutes to the beach past restaurants, shops ...the first week we tried hard to be on the road to different beaches of North Goa + markets + went to Old Goa. We concluded that our beach (Candolim) is the best! ! ! In principle, it’s still beautiful on Vagator, but Anjuna, Arambol are not the same at all ....We were only at Baga at night, so no comment (people are dark at night! )
Both right and left of the center. the road leading to the beach has a lot of shakes, the prices are about the same, although in Antonio the neck, it seemed to me, everything is a little more expensive ...we went to the right a couple of times (in one of us they decided to tear off for sunbeds and an umbrella, despite the fact that we ate from them ...we arranged an analysis of events and refused to pay ...for what such merits and privileges?! ) We didn’t go to the right anymore ....
We nailed in the last days in Camrose (next to Antonio Shake) and were happy! They easily left things on the sunbed, the bags, however, were taken to the shake itself, asked to look after, went to wander along the coast until the end of the geography, to the very grotto, sometimes returned after 1.5-2 hours. Oddly enough, there seems to be one coastline, but the landscape is changing ...all this is interesting ...in the travel agency they frightened us with a barge ship, a cat. stands in the sea to the left of our center. the entrance to the beach, but this "dead" ship made the opposite impression on me! I was just in love with him, a lot of photos with his appearance ....Although shabby and old, it is still very powerful, monumental!....
Gita, who sells all sorts of things on the beach, has already ceased to bother us with “look at my store” and “leg bracelet” and was like family to us, talking about her own - about girlish ...in our favorite neck, Camrose was preparing for us, it seems to me, with a special love… they made me juice from carrots, although there was none in the price list… and when they talk about unsanitary conditions throughout India, especially in necks on the beach…. , this is not always true, we looked into the kitchen in the neck, everything is more than decent (see photo).
My story turned out not so much about the hotel, but about the relaxation that you just need to catch on vacation ...! ! ! ! Well, ugly outwardly hotel, yes! Everything is good in the room! , the location is very good! The last days we went to the sea at 10 am and came back at 8-9 pm: shower, change clothes and hit the road again, walk, dance ....True, with regard to dancing, they faced a big problem here ....In cafes-restaurants in the center.
on the street we did not meet a single place where it is customary to dance, far from everywhere there is live. music, even just to listen to a live voice…. Discos…. Somehow, everything is also not very joyful ..."Titos" is finally an institution with youths - mountain goats ....They jump around you, you won't turn away... they are everywhere....Entrance for girls is free, they said, 3 drinks are free, I obviously took more than three and nothing, still without money ...Mambo disco - after Titos it seemed just SUPER! There, the audience is more impressive, there are foreigners, and the music is decent ...but in general, not ice either! ...
Drinks we drank:
- well, of course, the local room "Old Monk" (110-115 rupees, * 0.7 = 80-90 rubles per 0.7 l) - quite a decent thing, diluted with something, poured into a bottle of juice and go! For impressions!
- port wine (0.5 l = 50 rupees), also a very pleasant liquid, sweet, but strong, it is drunk pleasantly, like juice ....
- gin, apparently, local production (1l - 130 rupees, not very different from duty-free gin), it is drunk zzzzaaaaaaaaaly! And with bitter lemon and without it ....
- beer ...for some reason only light, no dark, 650 ml, in the store 40-60 rupees / bottle (in necks on the beach 70-100 rupees / bottle)
- local moonshine, sold in the store, bottled ..... ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! ! ! ! I don't even recommend trying...Any of our home-made, most UNrefined moonshine will seem like orange juice compared to THIS drink ....Guys, I was twitching even when I already refused to drink this swill, but just opened the refrigerator and saw an unfinished bottle ....Brrrrrr…. Left it for service. staff…. brrrrrrr…. . perhaps the most unpleasant memory of the holiday ....
Fruits vegetables:
There is a small market to the right of the hotel.
I wanted to eat plenty of mangoes, but in March the mangoes were not yet ripe, apparently not in season, watermelon (medium size) was taken for 30 rupees = 20 rubles, it could have been cheaper ... , pineapple (whole, very ripe, 30 rupees), for they took salad cucumbers + tomatoes + different peppers + onions + local radishes = about 4 solid portions, only 30 rubles ... , bananas didn’t go with us, but they sell about 1 rupee for 1 banana )
It’s hard to stay hungry, even if eating in cafes and shakes is NOT expensive and all portions are solid ...we took, for example, 1 salad and one hot for two and were quite full ....They didn’t particularly try to take meat, because there are a lot of seafood dishes and this was very good!
Transport:
- Taxi – always haggle! Sometimes bargaining will pleasantly surprise you, sometimes (especially in the evening and at night, but if you go from a market or a disco) they don’t slow down at all!
But you can leave a busy place, go out onto the road and start moving in your direction, taxis will accompany you and be more accommodating ...we somehow drove from Calangute to Vagator Beach for 100 rupees (70 rubles) ...okay ....
- tuk-tuk - see taxi, only a few. times cheaper, but as a mode of transport - quite convenient and comfortable
- buses.... It is something…. No traffic rules, no stops in principle! You stand or walk along the side of the road, you see a bus, you “vote”, the bus stops where it is convenient for you ...as a rule, a fixer. dachshund - 10-15 rupees. For example, from Candolim to Panaji (the capital of Goa, 45-60 minutes on the way) = 10-15 rupees, from Candolim to Calangute (10-15 minutes on the way) = also 10 rupees ...
In general, we traveled everywhere on our own and mostly only by bus. Here I would like to return to the hotel staff. There is one man from the reception (black as a Moor, unfortunately I don’t remember his name, see photo), he is so nice!
He has ALWAYS been very helpful! ! ! Which bus to take, where to get to and which bus to transfer to if a transfer is required! Moreover, he was not annoyed by repeating information more than once, looking for synonyms for English. words, if we could not understand right away…. We absolutely loved him! And in the end, they thanked with a small present!
Dear tourists, Conclusion: on REST all MINUSES (including the hotel) try to transform into PLUSES or at least look at them with a smile! At home, in Russia, far from all of us are princes and princesses, we live in palaces, eat overseas delicacies, sleep on silk sheets (especially since we change them daily). What happens to us outside of our homeland? Why such snobbery! ?
Enjoy your holiday and only with a smile on your face!
