Hotel ratings by criteria:
WHO: a large company of five families: 10 adults and 7 children from 1.5 to 16 years old WHEN: from January 7 to January 17.2017 child - I will be happy to answer in the comments or in a personal message. I will say right away that your impression of the hotel will directly depend on where exactly you will be accommodated. In our company, hotel ratings are diametrically opposed: from “completely satisfied” to “not a foot here again”. Personally, I sided with the latter assessment, and here's why. Late resettlement will not be marked as a fat minus, although we would very much like to. We arrived at the hotel at 8 am, received the room at 15.00. It was not a surprise, we were ready to wait, but until 13.00 - as stated in the resettlement rules. Two extra hours added discomfort. Our large company needed six rooms. Our family has the smallest child, 1 year 5 months old. I asked the receptionist to check us in first and give us a quieter room. Maybe something is wrong with my English, but we got the last room and the noisiest of all provided. I really wanted to swear! In addition, we booked a room with an extra bed (for a child of 8 years old) - with great difficulty we managed to bring a thick mattress to our room at night, on which the older child slept until the end of the holiday. The mattress was carefully covered in the same manner as the bed, and in general, the son was comfortable on it. And yet - for show - this is not a declared bed! Noise is the biggest disadvantage of this hotel. Noise is everywhere: early in the morning (at 6! ) they start running and shouting in the corridor (these are Indians resting), very loud music in the evening by the pool: if you got a room overlooking the pool, then you won’t go to bed before 10:30 pm - the feeling that the musicians work right in your room : ) It is especially loud at weddings. The hotel has a feature - on weekends they hold custom events, weddings, engagements. These “national weddings” do not represent anything interesting for tourists! A bunch of guests, just drinking and eating at the tables by the pool with loud music and some competitions, also very loud. Then crowds of drunken guests are drawn to the exit in a string (many are taken out). In general, the hotel is definitely not for a quiet holiday. The air conditioning/ventilation system is also noisy. At night, three or four times for a few seconds, the electricity is cut off with a loud click and turns on just as loudly, after which you can already sleep a little under the measured hum of the restaurant hood until the next click))) All this applies to the rooms in the main building. I think that the pool houses are just as lucky, except that they don’t yell in the corridors and the restaurant hood doesn’t make noise. If you want to sleep peacefully at night and in the morning, try to stay in houses away from the pool, with windows on the outer perimeter of the hotel. Of my personal complaints about the hotel is cleaning. It often happened that we returned from the beach at 14.00 to an uncleaned room. Could clean up at 18.00. Is that normal? I had to specifically ask in the morning and even swear. Yes, and cleaning - one name. The bed will be made (the linen was changed once in 10 days), the towels will be changed and the mop will be moved around the center of the room. But in India, in general, there is a very calm attitude towards cleanliness, you get used to it in a couple of days and close your eyes already. Otherwise, there are no special complaints. The staff is responsive, readily respond to requests (if understood correctly). Everyone speaks English, there are no Russian speakers - keep this in mind. Breakfasts are varied - for local vacationers. For a Russian tourist, all this variety is useless - the dishes are very specific. But in any case, you will find something to eat. Fried eggs or scrambled eggs (with herbs, cheese, tomatoes - your choice) will be fried especially for you. There is some kind of stewed / fried potatoes, grilled tomatoes, there is milk oatmeal (I have not tried it). Some pastries, pancakes, you can make toast with butter and jam, but their bread is some kind of vinegar, with an unpleasant smell. I advise French toast - a baguette is dipped in an egg and fried, seasoned with cinnamon. It's tasty! Fresh cucumbers and tomatoes of poor quality, corn, peas. Of fruits, there is always watermelon, periodically pineapple or melon, all this is cut into small pieces and, in my opinion, is unsightly, I did not eat fruit at the hotel. Good fruits are carried by vendors on the beach and there are fruit stalls in the villages (in Benaulim or in Colva, there are more in Colva). There are a lot of people at breakfast on weekends - the hotel is filled with local tourists. Other days are freer, but also crowded during the "hot hours". Often there are no cutlery, napkins, tables are not wiped. But for the sake of justice, I’ll say that if you ask about all this, they will be undermined by running. What else about the hotel? The overall appearance of the buildings is rather shabby. Unpretentious renovation, early 2000s. Those who have nothing to compare with may not find fault, but those who have been in good hotels will find the situation... well, not that miserable, but cheap. Although we looked at other 3 * hotels in Colva for the sake of interest, claims diminished against their background)) The rooms are normal, sufficient in size and equipment, there is everything you need: a refrigerator, a safe, a hairdryer, a kettle. Hot water was always, plumbing serviceable. There are no issues with the room, except for noise and cleaning. The pool is small, seems to be clean, with a small bowl for kids. I have never seen a lot of people by the pool, there are few sunbeds, but there are always free ones. We have never hung out by the pool - with such a cool sea and beach, this is completely unnecessary, and it's just a pity to waste time. Two families from our company are very satisfied with the hotel. So the taste and color of the markers are different)))
