first time in Goa, but believe me, this is the hotel if you plan not to sit still, but are not ready to live in a barn. The staff is just super, everyone is trying to make the vacationers feel good, the girl at the Shereton reception, she is just a godsend that if you don’t ask everything she will answer and help, but one thing, but they don’t know Russian, in English. … More ▾ first time in Goa, but believe me, this is the hotel if you plan not to sit still, but are not ready to live in a barn. The food is varied and not spicy. In the evening in the restaurant you can dine not expensive and tasty, I recommend from port wine. Every other day there is live music in the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. And if you leave the chocolate Alenka, it will also be sooo beautiful

Breakfasts are trying to diversify. if you want to dine in a restaurant, be sure to call Sandia, he is the only one who understands without spices. The hotel is in a convenient location, close to shops (they are located after the Kingsley restaurant), and they take a free taxi to the beach, the distance to the beach is 2 km. The hotel exceeds its status of 3k by 4k boldly. The staff is friendly, very positively disposed to the guests, and even more so to the tip, but I do not recommend pampering, so as not to snicker. I advise you to take a few bars of our chocolate with you. Somehow they left a tip in the room, so they even twisted the swans out of towels for us. We didn’t even expect that bed sheets and towels were changed here (comparing 3 * hotels in Thailand). There is wi-fi. The problem was that our hotel guide Alena from Anekstura (not very competent with disgusting English) could not understand that it turns out that the login and password that are issued daily at the reception must be entered on the Jasmine hotel website. Well, at least the guys from Omsk explained, otherwise there were three days of depression without the Internet. Breakfast for 5, an evening restaurant for 4, but live music compensates for everything, a Hindu guy sings - you will listen, there is still karaoke, but guests from India also sing there. Opposite the hotel there is a restaurant Casa Nostra, very zer gut. On the Betalbatim beach, where they take it, it is very clean and excellent necks, tasty and not expensive, I recommend the "At the Rose" shake - it makes discounts for the second visit. Colva beach is crowded - many Indians who like our exotic bodies take pictures and ask for photos with them, well, they generally get it. But in general, we really liked it. Pay attention to what rate they change dollars at the airport. Upon departure, it turns out that the dollar exchange rate at the airport is 69 rupees, although in Colva the dollar is changed for only 60 rupees. Learn English, it's easier with him.

The rooms are always clean, cleaned every day. There is tea, coffee and kettle in the room. We traveled together, a young couple of 28-29 years old. We were very pleased with the quality of service and the hospitality of the staff. How best to resolve the issue with luggage when going home: It is allowed to carry 15 kg baggage and hand luggage 5 kg by UTair, the tour operator Anex Tour. You can take more hand luggage, I think it’s easy up to 10 kg, since they don’t pay attention to it at all during check-in. The most important thing is a bag or a backpack over your shoulder and stand with a calm look. Backpacks for this business can be bought in any market, they look very decent and at the same time are quite practical. We were stupid and thoughtlessly bought a bag, which I later regretted. Bargained in the market in Colva for such a bag for 300 rupees. Actions at the airport upon departure: A questionnaire is filled out (in English), you need to take a queue to weigh your luggage, only it is weighed (you don’t need to weigh hand luggage !!! ). As soon as you enter the airport, there is a scanning device opposite the entrance (no need to go to the check-in counters to the left !!! ). 2.5-3 hours before departure, the tape and scanner are launched and the baggage is checked. Then we go to the registration line. Luggage was weighed carefully, for overweight up to 2 kg, according to our neighbors, they were not taken for overweight. We ourselves had an overweight of 900 grams and we were not told anything. Some passengers for two had luggage not 30 kg as it should be, but more than 40, they tried to cheat and say that this is the total weight for three on a ticket. But for some reason it didn’t work and the guy put some dollars for an advantage to the Indian, and he immediately put this money in his pocket and calmed down. I draw your attention to the fact that it is absolutely necessary to attach special tokens on an elastic band to hand luggage, which are given at check-in. This must be done, as they will be checked at the entrance to the aircraft. Each bag is checked separately. We were brought to the airport at night, everything was done quickly enough and only we were in the hall at check-in for our flight. Then, when we went through customs, other passengers passed with us, but the queue passes very quickly and imperceptibly. In the waiting room there is a very tiny Dyutik, where you can buy nothing but alcohol, a couple of chocolates, and souvenir tea. There is simply nothing else. If you expect to buy souvenirs and cosmetics there, you will not buy this. At approximately 4am local time, the small Himalaya shop opened and I spent the remaining rupees there. The price of cosmetics is 2-3 times higher than the established prices in the city's pharmacies. The seller is a young girl who names the price herself, since the price is not even printed. But even this price (inflated by 2-3 times) is much cheaper than buying any kind of cosmetics in Russia. Since our flight was delayed, we got hungry and decided to buy something to eat. Only one cafe was open, in which I bought 2 rolls (like a pizza - a sliced narrow loaf - it’s better not to take it, it’s not tasty) and 1 Coca-Cola. All this came to 500 rupees. Which in principle is very expensive for India. How we ourselves traveled from South Goa to North Goa: I immediately draw your attention to the fact that we traveled from Colva to North Goa with my boyfriend, which is absolutely not risky and not scary, with minimal knowledge of English. For a very long time we could not decide how we would go to our friends in the north of Goa on Anjuna beach. We called up taxi drivers, found out from local taxis in Colva, the figure was approximately the same everywhere 2500 rupees one way (for our money 1200 rubles). Understanding how cheap their gasoline is, we decided that it was very expensive, since then we planned to continue our travels along other beaches of the north of GOA also on our own. And then one evening, walking along Colva, we found that there was a bus from there to Margao. We approached a young guy (who, like our bus conductors, collects money) and he was able to explain to us in broken English how we can get to Anjuna beach on our own by bus. And we decided to take a chance. From Colva, from the final stop near the beach, there is still a sign next to how many kilometers to which nearest beach to go, a bus runs every 15 minutes to Margao. Drive about 15-20 minutes. The fare is 15 rupees per person. If you go there not by bus, but with taxi drivers from the same stop, we were called 400 rupees. There is something to think about!!! ! You arrive at the Margao station. Then you go to any “conductor” (these are men who are very similar to police officers in beige uniforms) and just say “Panaji” to him, he will show you with his hand where the bus to Panaji is. It is simply impossible to get lost there, as everything is nearby. Before you get on the bus, you buy a ticket at the box office. The cost is 30 rupees per person. Quietly get on the bus and go to Panaji. The road is approximately 40-50 minutes, we drove at 8 in the morning there were no traffic jams, it was cool, we got there very quickly. During a bus ride through the window, you will see how local Indian women grow and process rice, drive 2 bridges across the rivers, and the road itself is not difficult, the bus travels quite quickly. You will need to show your ticket when you get off the bus. . As soon as you get out, go straight to the station itself and ask the same conductors for "Pug" - this is the next point you need to get to. The conductors are very willing to help and almost everyone we asked speaks minimal English. The road to Pugsa is about 30-40 minutes. The cost is 15 rupees per person. There you arrive at the local large market, from which buses go to all the beaches of North Goa. There are also signs on the bus. So you can't get confused about which bus to take. It takes 15-20 minutes to go to Anjuna, no more. The price is 15 rupees per person. The same bus that goes to Anjuna, having dropped people off, then goes to Vagator. The market in Mops from which you will drive off is large and you can buy whatever you want there. We bought spices there (the price for 1g is 2 rupees). There is a pharmacy near the market, namely a pharmacy, and not an Ayurvedic store, this is for those who want to buy not cosmetics but medicines, such as nasal drops, there are a lot of pills. That’s what I can’t forgive myself is that I didn’t look in advance while in Russia and didn’t write down the name of the pills I needed in English. My friend needed to buy a cream for stretch marks, we found it in this store. It cost only 150 rupees. Thus, our trip took about 2-2.30 hours and we spent only 70 rupees per person. When compared with the figure that taxi drivers announced 2500 rupees, then it's just free. That is, we got from South Goa to the north for only 35 rubles per person. And how much we saw with our own eyes)))). For those who are tourists who will live in our hotel, I’ll write one more hint: directly from our hotel, on the contrary, where the Cosa Nostra restaurant is, there is a bus to Margao (price 15 rupees), that is, you don’t have to get yourself first to Kolva and then to Margao, the bus to Margao goes straight from the hotel, there is a checkpoint stop, it takes 15 minutes to go. But he comes to Margao not to the bus station, but to where there is a very beautiful park. There you just need to ask any driver where the bus to Panaji is and they will show you where to take the bus that takes you to the Margao bus station. Just 5 minutes drive. It's almost impossible to get lost. Do not be afraid. How we ourselves traveled from Colva to Palolem Beach: From the bus station to Margao to Palolem Beach, we got ourselves, the bus takes only 50 minutes, it just rushes along the mountain serpentine and the price is only 40 rupees. During our entire stay in this amazing country, as we ourselves traveled from Colva to Palolem beach: we did not encounter a single accident. None. How we ourselves traveled from Colva to the city of Panaji: We also traveled to Panji on our own using the above method for the purpose of shopping. We ourselves drove to the Panaji station, and from there by tuk-tuk for 150 rupees to the street "June 18", where we found the shops we needed. And they managed to buy branded jeans there 3-4 times cheaper than in Russia. I am attaching a photo: We bought more than 8 different jeans, different brands, such as: Lee, pepe jeans london, polo, tommy hilfiger, etc. For myself, I bought a cool Puma brand belt, BMV collection. We got to only one supermarket, the so-called BigG, which they consider to be a stock center, which contains previous collections of both well-known world brands and unknown Indian firms. . But even there you can see a lot of things for yourself, for example, I bought jeans for only 750 rupees for myself and my mother as a gift. For comparison, approximate prices are as follows: past collections cost 1.500 rupees on average, and some look very interesting. But most of all in this store I liked the selection of men's plain jeans in black, brown and dark blue, these are jeans for the summer, one hundred percent cotton and very soft and pleasant. Since we walked around the shops of Ponaggi until late, I draw your attention to the fact that the station (according to the locals) is open until 8 pm, and we needed to return to our hotel, we agreed with the sellers in the Polo store to call us a taxi until Betalbatim beach. The taxi driver first said 1800 rupees, but we were able to bargain up to 1200. We were followed by a comfortable Toyota with a large trunk, into which we loaded numerous packages. There were about 15 of them))) large huge paper bags))) On our own with so many bags, we simply would not have reached the hotel. When we left Panaji, it was already quite dark and traffic jams began to accumulate in the city from all sides. Something reminded me of Moscow. I explain this by the fact that it was a day off and all the tourists went through the city of Panaji to the Saturday night market in Aprora. I simply have no other explanation, since there were a lot of cars entering the city. But our taxi driver cheated and showed us another new road, which is 3 times shorter in time than driving along the main city bus route. This road goes along the sea, in back streets, through Maggioru beach, after which our Betalbatim is just right. Indian Cuisine: The first days of our acquaintance with the local cuisine did not particularly please us, since we simply did not know what to order in this numerous menu. The first days sat only on the fish. After my friend, whom I met only on the third day of my vacation, told us that before going to India she began to read a book about the peculiarities of living in India, etc. , then a look at much…. I realized that in the cafe I order absolutely the wrong dishes. It turns out that India has an awesome local cheese called Paneer. . It is prepared in many ways, but it is most delicious in two dishes: Paneer in spinach sauce and Paneer in masala sauce, the latter is quite spicy, but after trying this dish in several cafes, you can find the perfect option for yourself. Paneer cheese itself is pre-fried until golden brown, in the form of large cubes and served in a filling. We usually took one such plate, which looks very worthy for a beer snack. As for the latter, during our stay in India we tried all varieties, but unanimously agreed that there is no better beer in India than King Fisher. During New Year's Eve, the price in local necks for this beer was almost the same everywhere - 100 rupees per bottle. In general, we really liked such local soups as: 1. in the first place is spinach soup (a very light soup served with garlic and a spoonful of cream2. french onion soup (served with a piece of fried rye toast and grated cheese on top), having tried this soup there, I made a promise to myself that I would definitely learn it in Russian cook. Another dish that we really remember and which looks spectacular on the table is Sizler, a hot frying pan from which smoke comes out, it is served to the table in this form, and its filling depends on your choice. The average price of such a Sizler is 250-300 rupees. This dish can be ordered for two without hesitation, as it is very large. Sufficiently original local dishes cooked in the oven are indicated on the menu as tampur. I won’t advise and recommend fish, because I don’t see the point. Your eyes will understand what you want when you have a whole table of different fresh fish in front of you. We absolutely did not eat any cape (neither sausages in hotels, nor ham), since in India there is no guest for meat and it is not clear what death the cow died and when at all. We preferred to sanctify ourselves from fish and spinach, and eat meat in Russia. More than once ordered dishes that belong to Chinese cuisine, such as vegetables in sweet and sour sauce, it was also very tasty. Necks on Betalbatim Beach: About our necks on Betalbatim Beach: I counted about 7 pieces in total, but don't worry it's enough. On the first day, not knowing the local laws on the beach, so to speak, we settled on sunbeds to the left of the main entrance, next to Rose's neck. As soon as the time came to 12 local waiters began to bother us that we would order fish for lunch, after we said we don’t want now, one of the Indians got very angry and started talking to us in raised tones that if we didn’t order fish , then pay 400 rupees for one sunbed. When we turned our heads away and pretended that we were sleeping, he was not too lazy and ran to his cafe and brought out a pre-laminated sign from there, where it was written in Russian: if you didn’t order lunch, pay 400 rupees for a sunbed. We had to reluctantly place an order so as not to swear on the first day and not to darken our mood. It was our first and most expensive lunch on this beach 1500 rupees. About an hour later, this guy began to pester everyone on the beach and even swung at a Russian woman who refused to order lunch from them, silently got up and left. This act finally put an end to it and we decided that we would never go there again. . Basically, our choice fell on the Buggy cafe, in which the Russian-speaking staff, who do not bother with orders of fish dishes (as this is the most expensive thing that brings them money from the menu), there were a couple of days when we just drank juices and did not order lunches and no one looked askance at us, and a local boy named Raja always smiled affably and willingly. The average bill for this coffee was 600 rupees per couple. For myself, I made the following conclusions for a future trip: 1. We take one large suitcase for two and nothing else. Nothing. 2. I buy all bags that can serve as hand luggage only there, the average price is 200-300 rupees3. And even better, I don’t take a suitcase at all and buy it there, so that it wouldn’t be a pity if it falls apart. Since we took the suitcase with which we flew for the first time, and before we got it to the airport, the handle was torn to us. The price of the suitcase was quite high. And the suitcase that I buy in India is not a pity to throw it away. 4. I don't take any sunscreen because everything is available in local Ayurvedic stores. The quality is very good and even using protection 70 (Lotus) you will not burn. In stores, I saw a protection factor of 100.5. I do not take any shampoos, creams, balms, etc. with me. I will buy all this only there. 6. No need to bother about telephone communications. Simka costs 800 rupees, it has 300 rupees in the account. And you don’t have to listen to the guides of the guides who explain on the bus that when buying in a store, a SIM card turns on only after a week. We turned everything on at once. We bought in Colva, and they did not ask us for a photo or a photocopy of our passport. 7. If I need some specific drugs such as festal, then I look for their names on the Internet in advance. 8. I buy only hand-pressed coconut oil, the average price for 0.5 liters is 200 rupees. But on the last day in a pharmacy in Colva, I saw bottles on tap and 2 liters each in a pharmacy. 9. Necessarily for all my loved ones, it doesn’t matter if they need to buy nasal drops or not. The price is 30 rupees per pack. 10. I take with me a bar of our Alenok chocolate, which you can always offer at the reception when you check in at the hotel. 11. I’m going to the market on Anjuna Beach, as there are the largest number of beautiful and interesting hammocks. We managed to bargain when we were asked for 2500 rupees for one hammock in the amount of 1000 rupees for 2 hammocks. 12. I don’t search on the Internet about cosmetics, as they give brochures in Russian in pharmacies. If you have any questions write t-be@mail. en
