India is an incredible country! A country of contrasts, unobtrusive exoticism, bright colors, kind people, rich nature, aromas of flowers. After visiting this country, everyone can write their own book of emotions and impressions about India, their discoveries of this country and themselves in it. But still, it is impossible for anyone to convey 100% how this country wins your heart and soul once and for all!
So, let's move on to the information needed by tourists who have gathered in India at the Ramada Caravel Hotel.
We rested from 1 to 12 April 2010.
The flight from Samara to India lasts 6.5 hours. To put it bluntly, flying on our economy class planes is difficult, especially at night. But after 6.5 hours you get off the plane and immediately feel India. Dabolim Airport is a military airport, so there is no beautiful building or rich duty free there. But it's also quite exotic =)
we arrived at night, in the morning, and could not see the surroundings and nature (the lighting was poor).

I would like to describe every minute of my stay in the country.... =) I will try to make it shorter.
The hotel is very beautiful! the territory is large, well-groomed, a lot of greenery and fragrant flowers. Being in an open space, you are enveloped in the aroma of "perfumed notes". Approximately 45% of the territory is built up - the rest is a garden and golf courses. The rooms and the hotel itself are in Portuguese style, very colorful: some are more modern, others are more national, but all are clean, spacious, with high-quality furniture and appliances.
A beach with white and fine as starch sand (500 meters to the right, the sand is already of a different yellowish color). During the day, small crabs run along the beach, and at night, large ones crawl out. They are not visible, because there is no lighting on the beach. So be careful not to step on them. I accidentally kicked one ((but he ran further =)
In April, the waves are big, and the water is warm-warm around 30 *. You can swim only after breaking the huge waves.
But the general entertainment is jumping on the waves =) The sun is very gentle, and the Indian tan is different from the usual Turkish or Egyptian, a very beautiful shade. then everyone will ask you, where did you come from? ))
Tours. Everything is interesting in India! We were on 2 excursions: 1) combined (Panaji, Elephants, Spice Plantation, waterfall with monkeys), 2) Excursion to Gokarna and Murdeshwar
I can say that both excursions are incredibly exciting, very fulfilling and impressive. Will definitely visit again next time! The first, combined, is offered by guides in various versions, that is, it is possible separately, for example, the capital of Panaji and elephants. But we wanted to see everything. It makes no sense to talk about it, and it is so clear what you will see there, but what you will experience there cannot be described in words! =)
The second excursion to Gokarna is interesting from the other side. They organize it in small groups, because

the road is long and it is better to go on a good car. We were a group of 5 people + guide + driver. We drove the best car, as the guide told us, white Toyota (I don’t know the model). Gokarna is located in the neighboring state of Karnataka with Goa. The road there is long, but very exciting: on the way you will see a lot of interesting things. The only thing is that the road is very winding, and I strongly advise people with "seasickness" to firstly eat before the road, and secondly, take the necessary medicines with them. But still, believe me, the tour is worth it! You will see non-resort India in all its glory, an ancient Indian village, a large temple in Gokarna dedicated to Shiva, the famous Om Beach.
Now about shopping. Prices in the country are incredibly low and the temptation to buy EVERYTHING is very great =). This is not Turkey and Egypt, where mainly souvenirs and hookahs are brought from, from India you can bring a lot of useful things that we don’t have. Tea, cosmetics, medicines are brought from India!! ! ,
jewelry made of semi-precious stones and souvenirs. It is better to look on the Internet in advance and ask friends about the quality of cosmetics or medicines, because the range is large. Doctors from Moscow rested with us and they literally stocked up with various medicines, and we - cosmetics from the Himalayas and other companies. We were lucky in our pharmacy the pharmacist spoke Russian, which is very rare in India, and our English does not apply to the medical vocabulary)) But what is good and what is not good, I think they will explain to you =) You also need to be more careful with jewelry, as and everywhere, there can be fakes. You need to be friends with locals or with Russians who have settled in Goa.
Food and nutrition in Goa. Most hotels in Goa offer BB-only breakfast. Don't worry, this is the best option here. If you take the All system, then firstly you will lose money, and secondly,

this is enough for you. There, even the men mostly ate like that. In total, we spent 8.500 rubles for food for two for 12 days, absolutely not denying ourselves anything, and trying various seafood delicacies. If we had purchased a tour to the hotel using the all system, then we would have overpaid about 25.000-30.000 for food! Significant, yes! ? )) We dined constantly in 2 places: Sebastian's shake - the most popular of the 4 shakes on the beach, and in a restaurant 100 meters from the hotel gate (I unfortunately forgot the name). Both there and there the menu is varied in its own way, the owners are friendly and serve quickly. I want to note, if you did not know, the Indians are not very quick people, and there is no point in pushing them. For example, in the hotel they prepared a milkshake for about 20 minutes, and the same sanitary conditions were not respected before my eyes =). But since business is also business in India, many are already beginning to understand how tourists can be attracted to themselves. So, Sebastian
Sebastian himself speaks Russian, and you dine by the sea. In the restaurant behind the hotel, the owner speaks English, and you eat on the veranda, around which cashews and other local plants grow, in general, it is also beautiful. I can give you an estimate of the cost for 2010 in rupees: bottled water - 20 rupees, mango - 50/75 rupees, juice -150/200 rupees, rum 50g - 110 rupees (you must drink before eating and give a tablespoon even to children for disinfection As an absolutely non-drinker, I can say that their rum is delicious. For those who drink - paradise =)), 700-1000 rupees dinner (we took a salad for two - vegetable cutting, or as a side dish - very tasty rice or noodles with freshly caught grilled fish served on a platter with French fries, coleslaw and vegetables, we tried everything we could from sharks to barracudas and giant prawns, shark is now my favorite fish!
There is also shark soup and other dishes. In general, such a dinner is enough for two adults). They also serve meat and it is even cheaper. We just ate this meat at home =) with mayonnaise, of course, I don’t recommend taking anything.
I can also say that a taxi from Ramada to Cavelosim costs around 400-600 rupees. There were always four of us, that is, 100-150 rupees per person. Bargain as much as you can, for them the Ramada is a very expensive hotel and our Russians, who do not speak English, cannot bargain with them and raise the price level accordingly. Taxi drivers ask 1000 rupees. Do not try to agree - it is very expensive! Taxi drivers near the hotel will most likely not reduce the price, but after walking 100-200 meters you will definitely meet a city taxi driver and will happily give you a lift for 400-600 rupees. By the way, this is the cost of the road there, the taxi driver waiting for you there for about 2-3 hours (negotiate the time and place) and return to the place where he took you from. They don't take you to the hotel

because there is tension with the taxi drivers at the hotel.
Contrary to rumors, we have never experienced problems with digestion and stomach. Of course, do not drink tap water and it is better to rinse your teeth with bottled water (it is always available in the room and is not expensive), wash your hands with soap and wipe them with antiseptic gels and wipes before eating. This was enough for us. I also wrote about rum.
It seems to be everything. Do not look for adventures, and they will not overtake you =) India is a beautiful country and it will give you as many positive emotions as you have never experienced in your life.
I would also like to ask the Russians not to skimp on tips, let's become Europeans. $1 for Indians is a lot, but for you, I think not. You can give less in some cases. Do not offend or be offended by the Indians - they are very friendly and bright people.
Also, those people who are going to India for the first time,
in a low-end hotel, read the reviews beforehand and don't expect more for the money you pay. And there is rubbish, dirt and homeless people both in Russia and in Europe. But personally, I remember India as an incredible, bright, colorful, delicious, magnificent, sunny and friendly country! I'm sure it will leave you with the same memories.
Have a nice holiday!
