Land of myths, legends and mafia Sicily
On this tour we discovered Sicily. And now they are absolutely sure: without getting acquainted with this sunny island, they did not understand and did not know what Italy is! We have been to Italy many times, and in the most incredibly beautiful places. In the May-June tour in question, we also visited its most wonderful corners: Venice, Rome, Naples, the Amalfi coast with its main city Amalfi, Salerno. And all the more sure that even bohemian Italy with its incredibly beautiful island of Capri and picturesque Positano does not strike the imagination like Sicily.
The itinerary of the tour has been put together very professionally and with full knowledge of the places and cities, with practical details in mind. Thanks to the organizers, attendants and a permanent guide, who prepared us for the trip in the smallest detail, the tour was especially successful! I really liked the hotels on the coast: the first is a villagio near the Tyrrhenian Sea, not far from the Amalfi coast and a few kilometers from the famous Paestum (ancient Poseidonia) and, of course, an incredible place in Sicily - the Costa Macauda.
Our impression of the beauty of known and unknown places grew with each city! Undoubtedly, the main tour was Sicily, or rather its uniquely beautiful southern coast: the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel in Sicily was located on the very shore, on a small hill, all the neighborhoods looked at the endless expanses of the sea. There was not a single hotel nearby: therefore, the entire surrounding coast was exclusively at our disposal! The hotel beach is well maintained, comfortable free sun loungers and umbrellas. And around only expanses of Sicily and the sea. The nearest large city is Sciacca: a historical and especially attractive place. This city is worthy of a separate story. Many sightseeing trips were planned in Sicily in a few days, but our admiration for the sea and the location of our hotel did not give us the desire to leave the Costa Macauda. We went on only 2 excursions that were organized by our company: the first to the city of Sciacca (approx. 5 euros) and the second to Agrigento, the Valley of the Temples, Scala dei Turchi (approx. 7 euros, the entrance ticket to the Valley of the Temples on the first Sunday of summer was free). Both loved it, but just staying at the hotel was also unique! Moreover, we visited Palermo, Corleone, Cefalu on the way to Kosta Makauda.
We will definitely return to Sicily! Thanks to our fellow travelers for a great time! And, of course, we are looking forward to new tours from our permanent company: professionally designed bright routes!
