When it became clear 2 weeks before the Easter weekend that all 4 days would be free, we began to think where to go, what to see. On the 1st place was, of course, a waterfall! This grandiose spectacle makes you want to contemplate again and again.

And now the forums have been read, the routes have been laid, the sights have been recorded, the hotels have been booked, and on April 6 we set off early in the morning. Many of the members of the forum have already traveled along the German autobahns, so they know what it is: there will definitely be a traffic jam somewhere, but the repair or expansion of the road is sacred. Fortunately for us, traffic jams passed us, but you can’t get away from repair sites ...

On the German-Switzerland border, as it was, there is a border post with real border guards who check documents, cars, etc. , but not everyone, somehow selectively. In front of us, someone’s documents were simply checked, someone was turned into a parking lot, someone, like us, was simply told: drive through.
When entering Switzerland, you need to buy a vignette, which we safely forgot to buy, but fortunately, the police control did not stop us anywhere.
Direction to the waterfall Schaffhausen, Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Industriestrasse, and closer to the waterfall there are everywhere signs to parking lots, which of course are paid. Despite, in general, it was not yet the season, there were many tourists: the elderly, and schoolchildren, and families with children, and entire excursion groups ...

And finally, we parked, get out of the car and you immediately feel the proximity of water, all the air is literally saturated with it, so pleasant, which you want to inhale as much and as long as possible. And here we have a stream of sparkling spray that falls into the Rhine from a height of 30 meters. We go down to the pier, there are different routes of boats that ply there, we choose 2 routes:
1. from the pier to the cliff and back.
2. from the pier to the other side, where the Laufen castle and back.

I forgot the cost, well, somewhere around 6.00 - 7.00.
00 euros per person for 1 not long route (for example, which we took) there and back.

The rock is located in the middle of the waterfall, and there is no way to get there except by boat. Climb to the very top, where the observation deck is located along a not very wide staircase, about a meter wide, and descend along it. On the right side we are slowly moving up, there is a queue, the platform at the top can accommodate 6-7 people, and there are much more people who come with each boat every 10-15 minutes. But not always, sometimes there are few tourists there. At this time, we photograph the waterfall on the left and right, and now we are already at the very top. The time spent on the rock is not limited, enjoy the beauty as much as time allows. And it runs not just fast, but swiftly. We return to the pier and switch to another boat.

And now we are on the other side. We do not visit the castle, we examined it on our first visit, but we give it all the time to the waterfall.
There are a lot of observation platforms on this side, and even more people. A beautiful panorama opens up from the very top, we go up the stairs, and go down in a high-speed glass elevator, although normal people would do the opposite. But we have a move to Italy ahead of us, so we need to use the opportunity to move as much as possible. Everything is beautiful, we are delighted with the waterfall, there was a little lack of sun, but it’s good that there was no rain. We return to the pier. There are restaurants and souvenir shops here. Well, I knew that everything is expensive in Switzerland, well, so expensive ...for comparison, in Germany a bun with sausage costs an average of 2.00 euros, here in a restaurant + 2 lettuce leaves and 1.5 slices of tomato for this bun and already this “masterpiece” » costs 10.00 euros. As well as souvenirs: magnets from 7.00 euros, glasses with the theme of a waterfall, more or less decent from 9.00 euros...

Further, our path lies on Lustenau, this is Austria.
The road is not tiring, we pass through the most beautiful places: these are olive groves, and flowering magnolias, and harsh rocks, unforgettable alpine meadows, and snow-capped peaks and, and, and ...
By the way, there is no border post on the border of Switzerland with Austria, and in general, no matter how many times we crossed the borders, there were no border posts anywhere else. The navigator informs us that one state is being replaced by another, and in addition, for example, before entering Austria, there are already signs indicating that it is necessary to buy a vignette for Austria. In Switzerland, we refuel 1 time: diesel costs 1.95 euros per 1 liter, horror! (we have 1.40-1.46 euros per 1 liter).

Then we take the direction to the Austrian ski resort Nauders. Not to go skiing, but to admire the unforgettable landscapes, slopes, gorges of South Tyrol and ride all kinds of serpentines. Impressions can not be expressed in words and no photographs.

Further direction to the famous Alpine, or rather South Tyrolean Italian resort Merano. We do not visit the cities, there is no time, for this we need to make another separate trip. There is a lot to see here, but our goal is the town of Riva del Garda on Lake Garda. You don’t need to buy a vignette for Italy, there aren’t any, there are toll roads, payment after the fact.

It is already evening, it is already getting dark, the most beautiful surroundings of the lake are practically invisible. The last turn and below, all sparkling with lights, Riva del Garda appears before us. The hotel is easy to find. Hotel Venezia 3* is located near the lake. Evening, warm, aromas of all kinds of flowering hover in the air ...Friendly staff, a hotel for 1 night is quite suitable. All the hotels that I booked had the same requirements:
1. cheap ( 55.00 euros per room, per 1 night is the cost in this hotel)
2. the presence of breakfast, but there are those that do not have breakfast
3. availability of free parking for the car
Nothing else was of interest, because we arrived at the hotels at 8-9 o'clock in the evening, and there was no time left for anything but rest. I liked this hotel because it is located in a quiet, peaceful place, we slept all night with an open window, and all night the birds sang to us and at times it rained. It seemed to me that along this entire street there are only one hotels, or rather not even hotels, but not large hotels. Breakfast is typical for Italy, for a hotel of this level, nothing special.

The first day of the trip is over, the planned program is completed, there are a lot of impressions ...the mood is wonderful, in a word - rest!
