I recently returned from a trip to the wonderful island of Ischia, famous for its thermal springs, stunning nature and gentle sea! Alas, no luck with the hotel! La Scogliera is a hotel for elderly Germans and partly Italians (just an almshouse)!
Tiny rooms without unnecessary frills with incredibly thin walls (colossal audibility! ). In the bathroom, the hygiene kit consists of a small soap, a small shampoo and a plastic bathing cap (should there be at least shower gel in the 4 * department? ). The breakfasts are modest, corresponding to a number of European hotels. But dinners (on the menu) - a separate song! Not only are the portions quite small, they are also not tasty! The choice is not very large, sometimes you don’t know what they will bring to you, the translation into Russian (available in the menu) is not always done correctly. For example, "beef with a rocket", as it turned out - "beef with arugula" (it is impossible to eat !!! ), "carrot and potato cream" meant vegetable cream soup (it seems to be for vegetarians). Dessert to choose from - either poorly washed fruits (or grapes, or pears, or hard peaches), or ice cream (a tiny jar), or a piece of cake (of an incomprehensible type and quality).
The hotel has two swimming pools, one of which is with thermal water, but beach towels are only for a fee (as well as bathrobes, which are free in any other hotel with thermal pools). There was no desire to go to the thermal pool at the hotel, because the old Germans sticking out in them evoked a squeamish feeling. It's good that my vacation was limited to one week and I stayed at the hotel a little (I went on excursions to Rome, to Naples, to the Paseidon thermal park). What to look at the hotel, some will say, if there is something to see in a country like Italy? And this is where I disagree with you. If you obviously eat at 2 *, you know what you paid for - for an overnight stay and some food. It’s a completely different matter if you go to a 4 * hotel, and all night you hear how an elderly German woman tirelessly flushes the toilet, and then you go to a restaurant (more reminiscent of a canteen) and finish eating what is left of a pack of German old people, like locusts that have flown to the food point in the first second of opening the door. There is a desire to come to this wonderful island again, but not to this vile hotel!
