First of all, I would like to refute the opinion that Martha (the owner of the hotel) does not like Russians! I heard quotes from this review from several tourists vacationing at the hotel at the same time as us. This is absolutely not true! I don't know how those Russians whom Martha allegedly disliked proved themselves! But I was a witness to the unpleasant behavior of compatriots who were initially dissatisfied with everything (for example, the size of the soap in the room... ). With people who do not speak (and do not attempt to speak) any language other than Russian, and even with eternal claims, it is difficult to be too cordial. I did not notice any discrimination in the seating arrangements in the restaurant. The waiters tried to serve everyone as quickly as possible, they were very kind (which, after almost 5 months of daily work, is already worthy of applause! ). In general, I remember all the staff as professionals in their field! Especially warm memories will remain about the owners Marta and Enzo and Anna, who works at the reception!! ! On the difficulties of translation. I can’t say about everyone, but besides Italian, they speak here: Anna speaks English, German, French, Spanish, she knows a few phrases in Russian. Martha - in German, French. Enzo - English, a little Russian. Perhaps Marta and Enzo speak some other languages, I have listed only what I know for sure. In the restaurant, the waiters also speak English (at least at the initial level), some know a few phrases in Russian (it's very nice when one of these boys in broken Russian says "Bon appetit! " from the heart). Night porter Pino - French, English. Bartender Angelo - English. The receptionist Laura seems to speak French and English. Although, I think that everyone knows German, because there are a lot of Germans both at the resort and specifically in Mirafiori! Food. Delicious! Breakfast is the usual European, as already mentioned, scrambled eggs with bacon every other day, meat and cheese slices, buns, muesli cereal and yogurt-milk for them, croissant muffins, jams-honey-chocolate, pineapple and red orange juice, coffee -machine with several varieties of coffee, watermelon and melon. In my opinion, it's not bad for breakfast!! ! : ) I usually don't have breakfast at home with 3 courses, so breakfast didn't seem monotonous to me. . Dinner à la carte: in the evening you choose from the offered dishes. I will not repeat myself about this system, I will only say that I really liked this system! Almost like Kinder Surprise - you don't know what they will bring! I have never been disappointed (except that it is better to eat pizza in a specialized place), everything was very tasty and varied! Yes, a couple of times there were difficulties from the category of “how is it ?! ”, but at my request the waiter explained, so do not hesitate to ask! Separately, I want to say about desserts! Dessert is brought by the waiter after dinner, after asking what you want. Sometimes I wanted watermelon or ice cream, but mostly they chose cakes - they are just amazingly delicious!! ! Oh yes, to order dessert, it would be good to learn the names of fruits, ice cream flavors in English or Italian. By the way, the Italian word for cake is "torta"! : ) Before dinner, when the doors of the restaurant open, Marta, Enzo and the waiters line up and greet the first people who enter. And during the whole dinner, both Enzo and Marta are in the restaurant, each doing his own thing. Sometimes it really may seem that Martha treats someone warmer, but it’s worth considering that many Italians and Germans have been coming here for years... If you are leaving on an excursion and skip breakfast or dinner (we had a ticket without lunch), you can order Lunch-pachet (lunch package) - breakfast and Cena fredda (chena fredda) - dinner. You say in advance when you pick up breakfast in the morning, it is left in the bar fridge the night before. Breakfast is a sandwich with sausage, a sandwich with cheese, an apple, a banana and a bottle of still water 0.5 liters. The same with dinner, say when you arrive, in the room by this time a tray with a cold dinner will be waiting for you (smoked meat, several types of cheese, cherry tomatoes, pickles, olives, an egg, buns, crackers and bread sticks, canned pineapple). By the way, these breadsticks in the package instead of bread are available in all restaurants, including the hotel. In a hotel during dinner, they stand on a chest of drawers not far from dessert, and in restaurants - on tables. The only thing I want to say: indeed, after 2 weeks of staying in Italy, I wanted buckwheat porridge, chicken broth. . . ) But this is not the problem of the hotel: if you come to Italy, where pasta is the "national dish", be prepared to eat it every day. When we arrived the room had one large bed. I immediately went down to the reception to ask if there were any available rooms with 2 beds, Anna promised to send the maid Maryse to us. Maryse came in a few minutes later, pulled the beds apart, remade the beds. Then we searched and did not find a refrigerator : ) Again, I went downstairs, I asked Marta already, she explained that in Italy refrigerators in hotels start from 4 *. Everything is o-h-e-n-b benevolently! In response to a calm, friendly question. Regarding the safe: it is built into the wall in the room, you need to ask for the key at the reception, for it you leave 10 euros, which are returned to you at the end of the stay, that is, you don’t need to leave any more fees. If necessary, ask the reception for a hair dryer - no deposit is required for it. There is no Russian channel in the hotel, for what reason - I don’t know, I didn’t ask, because. we were just glad we weren't able to watch TV. But I know that some tourists did not like it (due to which, according to tradition, a scandal almost erupted... ), so if it is important for you to watch Russian TV on vacation, check with the tour operator, maybe next year the channel will appear. The room is spacious (we had a regular, 2-bed, no sea view): 2 beds, 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe, a table with 1 chair-chair, a full-length mirror, a low table near the entrance, and another 1/3 of the room remained free. In the bathroom: shower with curtain, toilet, bidet, sink, plastic stool. On the balcony there is a plastic table and 2 plastic chairs; from previous guests, many get clotheslines)) The maid changes the towels and rug every day, the bed, most likely, every other day or every 3 days. Downstairs in the hotel there is a very cozy room with sofas, TV, piano. About the tip. I read somewhere that in Italy it is customary to leave a tip to everyone who has rendered a service. . It’s unusual for us, I didn’t imagine how it was to put money right in front of a person... We left 1 euro for the maid who cleaned the room, and in the restaurant for “our” waiter after dinner, about a day later, it depended on the availability of change. A 5-minute walk from the hotel (if you go to the right along the road that runs along the beach) there is something like a sports ground: rings, horizontal bars, logs, signs with possible exercises. In the morning before breakfast, many tourists (regardless of age) run and play sports. walking along the stone path along the beach. We liked Mirafiori so much that this year, after a week of excursions, we decided to spend another week in this hotel!
