Why choose a hotel. If you're only staying overnight, it's fine. This is the reason why the hotel was chosen. Very convenient location, close to metro station. You can walk to the center on foot (my wife and I walked around the entire center, we used the metro a couple of times: we went to the Vatican and the train station). The rooms are old and in need of refurbishment, but it didn't bother me much. The windows overlooked the courtyard. European breakfast (standard: croissants, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, cereals, jam, fruits, etc. ). In general, a standard set for Europe (a wider range in more expensive hotels).
You can choose a hotel near the station, it will be cheaper and maybe newer rooms (people from our tour group did this), but much further from the center, although there are no problems with transport).
So if you are going to watch Rome, and not sit in your room, this hotel is suitable, and in general a hotel for three balls.

I also note that food is expensive in Rome (you won’t be full of pizzas, shawarma alone, and cafes are expensive, especially in comparison with Spain).
The weather in January was super - 12-15 degrees Celsius, it rained only a couple of times. Well, mass discounts in stores have just begun (we traveled from January 29 to 26).
