Rome is a magnificent city to be seen. This is an open air museum. Our journey began with the fact that plane tickets were booked 10 months in advance at a ridiculous price, a room in an apartment through the airb&b app. A bus ticket from the airport to Rome was booked online, this is the company terravision, from the airport and back cost only 14 euros. This is easy to do through the website. Just enter the name of the company and follow the prompts. We arrived at the Termini station, this is the station and the metro, and here we bought the Roma pass. For 38 euros you buy a travel card for three days and two excursions. We spent one excursion to the Colosseum, the second to Angel's Castle. A day pass costs 7 euros, a one-time minimum for 100 minutes is 1.5 euros, but you can’t enter the metro twice with the same ticket.

To get to the Colosseum, do not stand in the general queue, find the Tippet, it is 300 meters from the Colosseum and buy a ticket there, we stood in line for only 20 minutes. It should be noted that we arrived at 8.00 and there were few people everywhere. Literally, an hour later it was already impossible to crowd. There are a lot of tourists. These queues can be seen from space!! ! I will not describe all the sights, it can be easily found on the Internet. The main thing is that they are all in one place. There are places where you need to book tickets in advance, these are the Vatican Museum (I had to pay 40 euros for outbids, but it was worth it) and Villa Borghese, you can’t get there at all. Do not choose many museums, after the second one everything merges together and it is difficult to remember what you saw where. There are a lot of free basilicas and the squares are wonderful, they are free. We were at the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and Venice, Spain, the Colosseum, the Vatican twice in the afternoon and in the evening, the Angel Bridge and the castle, the Pantheon, the Forum and the Tippet. One day was devoted to a trip to the Roman Sea. We were in Ostia, it is easy to reach in 30 minutes from the center by metro. The quiet resort town did not impress, but left lovely memories. Near Ostia there is Ostia Antique stop. Pompeii is said to be resting. It is an ancient city that is very well preserved. Entrance is only 10 euros, you can walk as much as you want, only there is no audio guide in Russian.

The local population practically does not speak English. You need to learn to count to one hundred. There are a lot of meat and cheese delicacies in supermarkets, to buy 200 grams, you need to make a lot of effort, in the end I gave up and learned how it would be 100 and 200. The pizza is great, to my surprise, I liked it best with mozzarella without meat. My husband liked cannelloni and tiramisu, as well as coffee, he is an expert in these matters. But everything is expensive, 1.5-3 euros. At the bar counter is cheaper than sitting at a table. Be prepared to pay city tax. You will not be accommodated in a hotel and already in an apartment without payment. Approximately 35-40 euros for two.

The Italians were disappointed. I didn’t see friendly and cheerful people in the subway, they generally look at foreigners casually, the stereotype is broken, but this is not in tourist places, these are ordinary inhabitants in residential areas who go to work.

It will be necessary to come to Italy again, since it is impossible to see everything in a week, even in Rome alone. Now I smile when people after the auto tour say that they were in Rome, it’s unrealistic to see it in a day or even a week, but it’s still worth a try.
