My family and I stayed at the Donau Hotel (Rimini) in August 2017, we went to rest from Natalie Tours. On the first day (Tuesday) we were not settled in Donau, as the girl at the reception Irina explained, there was some kind of misunderstanding, and they usually check in on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We also had check-in vouchers from Natalie Tours, and they had tours starting on Tuesdays for that period, and a hotel booking confirmation from the host tour operator. We were escorted to a hotel on the nearby Villa Derna street, the resettlement issue was resolved in just 10 minutes - very quickly. The Villa Derna hotel is lower class, according to information from the Internet, two stars, but they have three stars on the sign, so we didn’t immediately understand where we were being moved, besides, we wanted to quickly drop our things, go plunge into the sea and have lunch. There were fewer amenities in the room compared to what it was later in Donau, the room in Villa Derna is much smaller, there is no air conditioning, there is no shower in the bathroom - just a shower and a drain hole in the floor, everything was very tasty at breakfast (coffee , cereals, various pastries, yoghurts, cold cuts). Comparing these hotels is incorrect, and I am writing all this only to emphasize that Donau relocated to worse conditions. The next day we are still settled in Donau. The room is generally normal, there is air conditioning (free of charge), the TV is small under the ceiling, the wires are wound on the bracket, it looks very sloppy, in the bathroom the shower is right next to the toilet, you won’t fit normally, Wi-Fi costs 5 euros for the entire stay (we were given free of charge for the inconvenience with the relocation and this was the only compensation, so to speak, and then only after we raised this issue), Wi-Fi in the room of the device on the android caught normally, the iPhone was intermittent, the refrigerator was shared at the reception, breakfast - coffee, cereal, croissants (not very tasty), sausage cutting, melted cheese, the same thing every day. Now about why I give such a low rating to the hotel. The case with our relocation is not the only one - in the following days we repeatedly met people with the same problem, they were a young couple from Romania (we saw them once at the reception), a couple from Russia (they were moved to another hotel for three days, and when they returned with suitcases to Donau, there were no free rooms again and they were moved somewhere again), at the reception periodically there were conversations in raised tones, somehow they witnessed how a middle-aged man said that he had also been forced to live in another hotel. A total of four cases in a few days, including ours. I would like to note that the behavior of the hotel staff, relocation issues have already been worked out, the cases are clearly not isolated and the practice of relocation to other hotels is on stream - Donau confirms bookings for more places than they actually have, so when choosing this the hotel has a chance to get into a similar situation - not the best start to the holiday.
