We rested at the Mondello Palace Hotel at the end of June 2010. The hotel is well located, not far from Palermo, which is why we chose this hotel. The sea is nearby, clean and nice sandy beach. On this, all the pluses and positive emotions ended. The next day after the arrival of Russian tourists, breakfast was served in a separate room with a black RUSSI arrow pointing, without waiters, proper table setting, and most importantly, without food. Well, unless, of course, croissants, cold eggs and butter, as well as burnt coffee on the stove and boiling water can be considered a normal set of products for a 4 * hotel. For some reason, the table was served for Russians with dessert spoons, instead of tea spoons, but they forgot about dessert. But most importantly, Italians and other guests of the hotel feasted in the next room, not denying themselves the pleasure of eating scrambled eggs, fruits, juices, etc. After the bewilderment and indignation of Russian tourists, expressed in writing to the host Eurialo viaggi, there was no adequate reaction, the next day the breakfast picture was repeated, only we were also thrown inedible sausages, fried bacon and given juice! Only on the third day we were transferred to the next hall, thanks to them for this, low bow. It was also interesting with vouchers for the beach. Well, in the first two days of rest (Saturday and Sunday), such a luxury as a voucher for the beach for Russian tourists was not even supposed, the Italians came from Palermo, they need to rest, but there are no places for you Russians! In the following days, the hotel began to issue vouchers, but the trouble is, on the beach rented by the hotel, the number of umbrellas was 8 pieces, and in the hotel as a minimum
65 tourists. So it doesn't matter if you have a voucher or not. In general, we were shocked by such rudeness, we could not even imagine that SUCH was possible, given that we were resting in Italy for the fifth time. Sicily - it turns out to be something very special, a centuries-old layering of different cultures and mentalities, an infernal mixture. In their cultural development, they unfortunately did not go far, despite all the beauties of architecture, antiquity monuments and beautiful landscapes. The educational level of the population is not high, they do not seek higher education, they even consider it shameful, garbage is not removed on the streets of Mondello (a suburb of Palermo), it is dirty, it smells unpleasant. But this is a lyrical digression from a given topic. We paid a lot of money, and for this money we wanted to receive appropriate services, but we received only disappointment and negative emotions, even if only one person was to blame for all this (the owner of the hotel, the president of the host, who was in no hurry to deal with the situation or the two of them decided to make money on the Russians for a couple, and why not, because everything turns out to be permitted, with impunity, no one will protect the violated rights). The president of the host country, Eurialo viaggi, by the way, our compatriot, probably needs to think about his place in this campaign. If you don't know how to work, leave! Of course this could not happen to any other foreign tourists. There is no doubt about it! The Mondello Palace Hotel, as it turned out, is not intended for a beach holiday, sightseeing buses do not call there, all excursions take place from another hotel with your additional transfer of 40-50 euros. Do not trust the agencies that will tell you about excursions from this hotel! The only plus, as I already wrote, is the proximity to Palermo (20 minutes by bus), if you have any plans and routes for traveling around Sicily. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. This attitude towards Russians should be punished by not visiting this hotel in principle, which will lead to its ruin, it will not be long, given that half of the holidaymakers there are Russians who support the shaky economy of this Italian island with their wallets.
