The hotel was booked as always on the site:

1. Location

How to describe the location ...good or bad, in my opinion, depends on what kind of place in Venice you are interested in, in relation to what it should be considered. In our case, we needed a hotel in the immediate vicinity of Piazzale Roma. So, regarding the square. Rome or Santa Lucia train station, this hotel is located quite well, within walking distance, this is the Cannaregio area.

There was almost no time for a more thorough study of hotels in Venice, the price and location played a role, even despite not all the good reviews, so I ordered it.
The hotel was needed only for 1 night, before the cruise, so I thought, well, even if the reviews are not very good, we’ll spend the night somehow so as not to move far with our suitcases. And in fact, having previously reviewed the road from the square.

Rome to the hotel with the "yellow little man", it was not difficult to find him, and in the evening there were not many people on the way, so it was normal to walk, no one interfered underfoot. We got to the Al Scalzi restaurant, turned onto the narrow Calle Pr. Dai Cavaletti, walk a little straight along it and there will be a hotel on the left.

2. Our number

The rooms in the hotel are all different, we ordered with a private bathroom on the 1st floor (second Russian).
The hotel is located in an old building, and initially, I think, there was no hotel here, then it was already remade for it. There is no elevator, so I asked for a room as low as possible, somehow I didn’t want to go up the stairs with my suitcases to the fourth floor.
Entering the room, we were a little "stunned", in such rooms we have not spent the night. Small number is fine. The sink is located in the room itself with some incomprehensible green tiles, that's okay too.

There is no air conditioning, nothing to breathe, no, not from the heat, but from some stale, heavy air.
The window was immediately opened. They also knew that the view from the window would be on the wall and the patio, and that's okay.

The advantage of our room was that we had our own bathroom, even with a misunderstanding bathtub. There were rooms with a shared bathroom in the hallway.

Such a small bathroom in which you can’t turn / bend over / step in any direction, sitting, super childish. Not only is it narrow and short, but it also has an uneven bottom, with some kind of step / bulge ...I don’t know what to call it. Therefore, no step, no turn around, well, it’s not very convenient. The plastic shutter does not fit snugly to the bathroom itself, so after taking a shower there is water on the floor.

And one more thing: it will be problematic for people with curvaceous bodies to get into this bathroom, because the door to it opens less than half: because the bedside table interferes, and you can’t move it, the room is very narrow. I am a far from thin person, well, I somehow walked sideways.

3.
Service and breakfast

The only thing I liked was the concierge/receptionist. In the evening there was one, and in the morning - another, but both are very intelligent, very friendly, smiling gentlemen. It was very pleasant to communicate with them, although not for long.

Well, breakfast, well, just the poorest. First, no buffet. We were seated at a table that was already half-served, brought tea/coffee and a plate of rolls/jams...all in limited supply.
And don't tell me that this is normal for Italy. Nothing like that, this is not a REGULAR breakfast for Italian hotels. Been to many hotels with a normal breakfast buffet, if not luxurious, but acceptable.
Well, what is it, 1 bun, 1 croissant, and if I want 2 croissants ...but not supposed to.
I am writing this as a fact.

4. War on mosquitoes

Nothing could spoil our mood: neither a terrible room, nor a poor breakfast, like a sleepless night with mosquitoes.
As I wrote above, there was nothing to breathe in the room, we opened the window ...who would have thought that they are still found in October.
My night was almost sleepless. They buzzed like helicopters here and there. I closed the window ...it was hard to breathe, I opened it again ...I chased mosquitoes ...well, somewhere in the morning I fell asleep, covering my head with a sheet. And yet all hands were in red dots. The husband, of course, "suffered" more. He fell asleep as soon as he went to bed, and in the morning he got up all over with red dots: his whole face, arms, neck, shoulders, although when I did not sleep, I also drove these insects away from him.
I don’t know what kind of mosquitoes are so special, their bites were gone only by the end of the second week.

I blacklisted this hotel and will never book again. After all, probably not the first day mosquitoes live there, maybe you need to have some kind of removable mosquito net in the rooms. Who wants to sleep with fresh air, put the net in the window and sleep peacefully.
In a word, I described the situation, I do not recommend it, but it's up to you.

I wanted to attach photos, but I don’t see such a button.
