VENICE-Pearl of the world
I already happened to be in Venice, but I was there for one day... for Venice, one day is very short, but 5 that I spent this time was a lot.
My twin sister and my mother have a birthday in February, we decided to give her a birthday present and go to Venice with her. I started planning the trip already in November, I decided to open a visa myself without the help of an agent and book a hotel for myself, my mother and our friend. We prepared the necessary documents, signed up for a while and filed documents ahead... I was a little afraid for my mother and my friend, since they did not have more than one Schengen visa, and Italy is a country that is difficult to open a visa... but I counted on the fact of my birthday and mothers, and plus there was just a carnival going on there, so she said at the embassy... All three of them got a positive result after 14 working days... The hotel was booked through booking. com, an excellent side with reasonable prices and, in addition, they don’t take prepayment from the card. I I didn’t plan to stay there for all 5 days, but to go to Milan or Rome, but unfortunately it didn’t work out where to go....and so I studied the route Venice-Rome-Venice and Venice-Milan-Venice... We flew through Vizz -air is not expensive and not bad... we flew to Treviso airport, it turned out to be very small. At the exit of the airport there is a bus stop of the ATVO company, which run regularly (I think at intervals of 1 hour) between Venice and Treviso airport. Travel time is an hour and a half. Tickets cost 5 euros. Buses take you to Piazzale Roma, and from there you need to get to your destination (hotel) by water transport (vaporetto).
I chose the hotel in the center so that it was not far from Piazza San Marco and the Realto bridge... For 5 days in a triple room, breakfast cost us 600 euros, I think it's very cheap... of course, the options were much cheaper and more expensive.
As I wrote earlier, we just had time for the carnival, but we had already caught the end . . this is certainly something... everyone we met was in a beautiful fancy dress and, most surprisingly, we didn’t meet the same costumes more than once... we walked from kids to elderly people , it was very colorful and unforgettable...
Venice itself is a very interesting city... I got up at 6 in the morning and walked around the city, trying to go to quarters where there were no tourists, but only local residents... We went to the island of Murano, I won’t say that I was very impressed, I liked going there more, the road from San Marco by vappareto takes about 1.5 hours!!!
Well, about the greatness of San Marco and the beauty of the bridge, REALTO WILL NOT WRITE, you have to see it yourself and feel that spirit. 60 thousand....and that a female gondolier will soon wake up...
We ate exclusively Italian food, found an inexpensive restaurant with reasonable prices and very tasty food, plus two boys from Ukraine worked there, so they prompted with the choice of food...
During our visit, out of 5 days, it rained for 3 days, but this did not stop us from walking all day long, so we caught when the water level was high and pantones were placed throughout the city and everyone walked in huge rubber boots... this is also a must see .
In general, we were satisfied with the trip, but for one Venice, 5 days is too much, but we studied it thoroughly and will be happy to come more than once.
