We are in Venice for the third time with my husband, this time we decided to go with our small child (1 year old). I have already been to Italy many times, but for the first time I met with such a disrespectful, dismissive and even arrogant attitude towards guests. I chose the Ca' Laguna apartments as they had good reviews and everything needed for a family with a small child, although the price was quite high (New Year's holidays). We were met by Valentina's mother and we liked the apartment. We were a little surprised, but decided not to pay attention to the fact that there was dust on the radiators, TV and cabinets, and all over the floor my child, who was still crawling, was picking up someone's black long hair. But then my daughter found two pieces of broken glass under the sofa. I was terribly angry - okay, dust, but glass - after all, a child could swallow it! But I decided not to spoil my vacation and not to sort things out. And went to bed.

And the next morning I woke up with about 10 bites on my body and face.

I decided not to give it any importance. But the next night, the story repeated itself and the bites became twice as many - they itched terribly and burned. I decided to call Valentina anyway. Her mother (a nutritionist by profession) arrived, said that it was an allergy and gave me pills. But my husband (after graduating from the Faculty of Philosophy is now studying to be an ambulance assistant) did not believe in the story about allergies and before going to bed he climbed to search the bed with a flashlight. And found a bed bug!!!! ! A vile nasty creature that drinks 7 ml of blood at a time. My heart almost stopped when I imagined what would happen if these creatures bit my one-year-old daughter, who was sleeping right next to me in a crib. I called Valentina and told about the bedbugs. She apologized for a long time and said that they had another luxury apartment near Rialto with 2 rooms available and they would move us there.
Instead, without saying a word to us, they brought us to an apartment with a total area of .18 meters (thanks, at least they helped to transport things by boat - it turned out to be very far). When we got there, I was shocked, speechless and burst into tears. The footage is fine, but it was impossible to go to the toilet there without getting your feet wet, since the pot was literally under the shower. There was mold everywhere on the ceiling, and after a night on the bed, my back refused to straighten at all. In these apartments we were to spend 2 nights before departure. I was very offended. But not for broken glass, and not even for bedbugs and numerous bites (which still keep me awake at night), but for the fact that we were deceived. That we were treated like some kind of trash who just pays money and does not deserve an ounce of respect. Instead of a wonderful 7 days in Venice, we spent at least 4 in hell.
The next day, I wrote an SMS describing everything that I described above and demanded a refund of the cost of our stay. But for some unknown reason (as it turned out later), this particular SMS did not reach Valentina, although all the previous ones did. The next morning I got a call from Booking. com and they told me they wanted to refund the cost of one night. At this time, we were standing with our suitcases at the exit of the terrible apartment where we had spent the last two nights. And they were so shocked that they even forgot to take the keys out of the apartment doors (here it is worth noting that for all the time that has passed since our move, no one has ever called us and asked how we are doing). I answered the booking operator that the amount of the refund does not suit me. I cried all the way to the station.
The last letter I received from the owners of Ca' Laguna today was written in a very brazen tone, the main point of which was that she absolutely does not care that I write this review here (and in general I will write reviews anywhere), because they have a great reputation, 5 stars, repeat customers and are generally very cool (maybe that's why they thought they could treat us like that). And I can't harm them in any way by telling this story. I wrote everything in great detail, since in the same letter I was accused of lying - and about cleaning in their apartments (everything is always licked there), about the second apartment (that they are beautiful) and about everything else too. I didn't think to take a picture of the hair, the glass, but I'm attaching photos of the bites and the apartment that we were given instead of the one we paid at the price of 150 euros per night.

I am an optimist and do not know how to be angry for a long time.
It's just a shame that part of the memories of my daughter's earliest childhood will be painted with such colors as well. And it's a shame that people with such an attitude towards guests work with tourists. Thanks for reading.
