Hello! Finally got around to writing my review, even though I returned from Sri Lanka 3 weeks ago. I don’t even know where to start. . . Sri Lanka has become a real discovery for me, it is a unique country with an unrealistic contrast, very kind, warm-hearted, smiling people, many of whom, by the way, know English and communicate calmly with tourists. For me, this holiday was the most vivid and memorable!
We flew in the company of three free girls. From Boryspil took off from the new terminal D in which there are practically no people and registration, as well as passport control, passed in 10 minutes. Air Arabia flew, the planes were good, food was only paid from the menu. For $ 8-10 you can eat well and densely, the portions are large. The docking in Sharjah took about 2 hours, which, in principle, is not long (acquaintances flew through Sharjah and waited for a flight to Colombo for more than 5 hours). Arrived in Colombo around 4 am. Even in Kyiv they made visas and ordered a transfer from the airport to the hotel. Visa $20, round-trip transfer about $50 per person. We drove to the hotel exactly 4 hours, as many tourists wrote. But on a paid highway only 2.5 hours. The fare costs only 300-something rupees, which is only about $2-3. On the way back, we were already smarter and insisted on driving only on the highway, of course, we paid for the entry ourselves. Drivers do not want to drive on the highway to avoid paying, but if you want to get to the hotel as soon as possible, then it is better to insist and say that you will pay for entry.
In short, we drove long and tediously, but we saw enough of the local flavor, which we also liked. We arrived at the hotel at 8-9 o'clock, we were told that we would have to wait for the rooms for about an hour. cleaning is underway and suggested we go to have breakfast. The buffet struck with an abundance of food, which I did not expect at all. But most of all I was struck by the beauty around and, of course, His Majesty the Indian Ocean. Noise is unrealistic, but insanely beautiful. The hotel corresponds to the photos, the territory is small, but everything is nice, cozy and clean. The staff is friendly. They did not pay anything for the settlement, they paid only the boy who carried the luggage, the poor fellow was pulling 3 large suitcases.

Our rooms were of an improved type, large, bright, clean. Cleaning was done every day. In the pool so never bought, although it was possible to swim in the evening and at night. We liked the food very much, there is a lot of food, and the dishes are varied. Every day for dinner there was a different cuisine, sometimes Italian, sometimes Mexican, etc. By the way, in the hotel restaurant nat. the dishes were not so spicy, but in other places we tried, then of course there was a fire in the mouth. But in no case do not drink water, but seize with bread or vegetables!
Because we rested out of season, many cafes and bars were closed, but we still found where to have fun. There is a good establishment Top Sicret, which works all the time until the last client, there are tables and a lounge area with pillows where you can lie around. There is a Vibration disco, out of season it works only on Fridays, very good and fun. In the season from November to March, of course, everything works and there are a lot of people. We met the guys - the owners of Funky de bar, a very good bar right on the coast.
Exchange rate 1 $ = 130/128 rupees.
You can eat outside the hotel inexpensively, in bars, dishes for $ 5-8, insanely delicious fresh juices - 1 glass of 400 mg costs only 180-250 rupees, which is $ 1.5-2.
Excursions last all day, we left for Kandy at 5 am and returned to the hotel only at 9-30 pm. Tiresome but interesting. The cost of excursions depends on the number of people. For three it was $60, for nine it was already $50 each, including entrance tickets to all places. What else to add. Very tasty tea. For me - a lover of this drink, it was just heaven. Very tasty fruits and worth a penny.
There are no living creatures on the territory of the hotel, so do not be afraid. I did not notice mosquitoes, although bites appeared after 3-4 days. Regarding unsanitary conditions, which I read about before the trip. All this is nonsense! Many local residents are clean, dressed in snow-white clothes, I don’t even know what kind of powder they use, I have white things and some faded ones. Everywhere everything is clean, in temples, on the beach we went barefoot and even in the shower then washed without slippers and nothing - no fungus. And this is me - a squeamish person to the point of horror! When I saw everything with my own eyes, I realized there was nothing to be afraid of, I would not catch anything.

Beach and ocean. There are reefs near the hotel so you can't swim there. If you walk to the left for 5-10 minutes, you will see a beautiful and long strip of beach. There, everyone chooses a place to their liking. It is possible on sun loungers under umbrellas, it is possible on the sand and under the sun, or it is possible under palm trees. Swimming in the ocean is like swimming in the sea. Waves sometimes cover and nail, so to speak, with your face in the sand, as someone wrote only and kissed the sand. This is true. Swimming is impossible, only jumping on the waves. Yes, and you can’t swim far, the ocean sucks in with great force, so you don’t have to return.
sunsets. Sunsets in Sri Lanka are an unreal spectacle of all the colors of the rainbow. Very beautiful, but unfortunately, photographs of ordinary cameras do not convey this.
It is believed that a holiday in Sri Lanka is a relaxing beach holiday, but during the season there are a lot of people and a lot of fun. We had fun even out of season, we saw a lot of things, learned a lot about things, looked at a completely different world, where people don’t worry, don’t create problems for anyone, but live positively and smile. I really liked the atmosphere in this country, after all, Buddhism is closer to me than Christianity. In Sri Lanka, not only my body rested, but also my soul. Sri Lanka is exotic, but exotic is safe, beautiful and very rich. As many say, either this country will sink into your soul, or you will spit. It sunk into my soul. In December I'm going there again and it's to Hikkaduwa! Have a nice rest and I want to say with what attitude you eat, so you will rest!
