We planned to rest at the Coral Sands hotel from 16.03. 2020 to 03.26. 2020, but something went wrong. We arrived at the hotel at about 19:00 on March 16, we were settled in a room on the first floor with a sea view, I want to say that all rooms in this hotel have a sea view, this is a huge plus! Also, all rooms have either balconies with chairs and a table or a terrace with sun loungers, which is also a huge plus. We liked the room, but since it was on the first floor, the exit was immediately to the sunbeds and the pool, but we don’t like it when it’s very crowded and asked for a room on the second floor, after 10-15 minutes we were offered another room and he approached us on 100%, without any additional payments!

We left to rest in an unstable situation in the world, but we hoped that, of course, this would not affect us. But 19.03. 2020, a curfew was introduced in Sri Lanka, all shops and cafes were closed until 23.02. 2020, we were terrified. We had a tour to this hotel for breakfast, and for lunch and dinner we had to pay $ 10 extra per person. We were shocked!

From March 19 to March 23, there were approximately 15-20 occupied rooms left in the hotel, but it did not lose its mark, the buffet was varied and very tasty, then we thought that from 23.03. 2020 will get better, but no, and the quarantine has been extended until March 26.2020, they fed us all also for free! 03.23. 2020 our flight was canceled and we bought new tickets for 03.27. 2020, you won't believe it, but the hotel gave us this day for free!

03.25. 2020, we and another couple stayed at the hotel and the entire hotel and staff worked for us, they didn’t close, didn’t kick us out, but continued to work and feed us delicious food! There was no buffet, but we were offered a choice of food - chicken / fish / shrimp /. Also, there was always a choice of desserts ice cream / fruits / cakes. The hotel staff were very attentive and friendly! Despite the fact that we were not allowed into the city and from 24.03.
