Incredibly delicious and cheap seafood in Sri Lanka!

Much has been written and said about Sri Lanka. I don't want to repeat. But I want to share my impressions of the Sri Lankan cuisine in the plane of my vacation and one particular restaurant. Don't take it as an advertisement! God forbid! I don’t work there, and no one pays me for PR))) I was there with my wife for 2 weeks, and I’ll be honest - Without the Tigri restaurant in Hikkaduwa, next to the Chaaya Tranz and Coral Sands hotels, the vacation would not have been so rich, pleasant, and most importantly - delicious! It is very expensive to eat at the hotel - they were looking for a local inexpensive restaurant, without ambitions and divorce for tourists, without unnecessary pathos, gloss, husks.
He climbed half of Hikkaduwa in search of a solution to the problem: where could you combine clean dishes, good service, delicious food and reasonable prices in 1 place ? ? To my joy, I found such a place - the restaurant "Tigris" (348 Galle Road, 80240 Hikkaduwa). Tried half of the menu, the other half - the wife. I won’t say that I liked everything (I don’t like some vegetables and spices), but shrimp, crab, squid and rice mix (“mixed rise” - rice with chicken, squid, crab meat, shrimp, vegetables, special sauce and chili) - were incomparable. I was in very expensive restaurants in Kyiv, I tried seafood - I didn’t stand next to it. Apparently, you need to be a Sri Lankan, love the ocean and your business, so that it is SO tasty. Also, the portions are VERY large. If you don't usually eat much - specify the portion size or don't order right away. I didn’t eat a portion of soup + rice at a time, although I tried very hard.
Pros: Cleanliness. Everything is very fresh - they cook it from day to day, with visitors - you can watch, look into the kitchen (I brought fish and crabs caught on the local river, asked them to cook the catch, agreed without any problems, and then they also called me to the kitchen so that I he lowered the crabs into the water and took a couple of pictures for himself). The range of the menu - the menu includes not only local cuisine, but also European breakfasts and lunches, pasta, burgers, chicken, soups, fresh juices, beer, milkshakes. Prices - grilled tiger prawns with a mountain of vegetables and fried potatoes (specifically fried potatoes, not deep-fried fries) + salad + sauce = 1100 rupees = 8.5 US dollars (for example, in the Refresh restaurant nearby, this is about the dish cost me more than 3000 rupees). An incredible amount (spectrum, in the sense) of seasonings, herbs and sauces is used, the food is NOT VERY SPICY - the host-chef treats foreigners adequately and with understanding - you can specify the spice of food yourself, or the waiter will ask again. Very beautiful view - tables 15 meters from the water's edge, you dine just in the ocean, words can not describe. On the second floor, the owner rents 4 rooms - hot and cold water around the clock, balconies, incredible views, a normal toilet. The restaurant has a lot of paintings on display - a very creative design of the room, cozy, I want to return. The Tigri team speaks very good English. There is a menu in Russian - without errors, clearly and legibly. You can come with your food (vegetables, fruits, fish, shellfish bought at the market) and ask to cook (we charged 1.500 rupees = $ 11.6 for cooking 5 large crabs and a huge bowl of fish. The owner arranges tours around the region. Very open and hospitable people, free WiFi, great music.
Cons - few tables - we had 6 of them in total. They do not accept credit / bank cards (which is rather the norm for Lanka).
It turned out to be just like a blatant advertisement. But this is not an advertisement, but just a big thank you to Nishin and Amy for a wonderful vacation, attitude and communication!

"To a large extent I agree with your critic" - if you agree with the criticism, upon detailed consideration of which out of 20 points (remarks) 18 are blatant lies - it's up to you ... How objective it is - a very controversial issue.
With regard to corporate parties, I cannot agree: our company had absolutely the SAME attitude towards corporate parties and individual clients. If, again, we analyze in more detail, relying solely on dry facts:
1. The place for accommodating people was chosen in order to accommodate absolutely everyone, and if someone did not have enough 4 tables, there were additional places at the bar counter throughout the area on individual indents (benches), and I am already silent about the whole second floor, where you have a beautiful view of both the sea and the forest. What was the privilege of small groups? There was enough space for everyone.
2. The picnic was held on equal terms for everyone. Sandwiches were sorted out individually, no matter what (if someone accidentally didn’t have enough, Victoria quickly completed the required quantity), pilaf was applied in turn, without detaining anyone. The burgers were assembled on site starting 1 hour before, and by the time the picnic began, 60 servings were already ready, the rest was collected within 40 minutes. What exactly was the corporate privilege? Dont clear.
3. "Our company wanted to show my relative the FOREST" - I do not want to sound rude, but I emphasize once again that the place was chosen to best meet the needs of everyone (on the seashore and near the pine forest), and if you did not go for a walk in the forest - these are your individual troubles, our company is not responsible for the decisions of tourists: to go to the forest, which starts in 1 minute walk or not to go... The remark is rather strange, to be honest.
4. "Agree that your good intention to make everyone happy came down to meeting the needs of corporate clients" - therefore, this conclusion remains a big question: specifically on the basis of what facts did you come to it? .. ABSOLUTELY NOT CLEAR.
5. The ONLY privilege of corporate parties (2 out of 3) is a separate place on the first floor of the bus so that they do not interfere with other clients with their communication with each other.
A small note: this tour was prepared by 4 employees of the company for 52 hours, of which each of us slept 3-4 hours a day. Yes, we didn’t manage to realize everything we wanted due to force majeure, but I propose the following: ABSOLUTELY ANY TOURIST who has been on this tour will receive a 100% refund personally from me, at the office of our company, IF he provides a mushroom picking program on Kinburnskaya spit of another travel company with no less program in terms of volume of services for the same cost as ours!!! We will refund the money even if you find a tour 20% more expensive than ours, under the same conditions.
"Во-многом согласна с Вашим критиком" - если Вы согласны с критикой при детальном рассмотрении которой из 20 пунктов (замечаний) 18 являются наглой ложью - дело Ваше... Насколько же оно является объективным - вопрос очень спорный.
В отношении корпоративов не могу согласиться: со стороны нашей компании было абсолютно ОДИНАКОВОЕ отношение к корпоративам и индивидуальным клиентам. Если опять же разобрать более детально, опираясь исключительно на сухие факты:
1. Место для размещения людей было выбрано из расчета того, чтобы разместить абсолютно всех, и если кому не хватило 4 столиков, были дополнительные места за барной стойкой по всей площади на индивидуальных отступах (скамейках), и я уже молчу про целый второй этаж, где открывался красивейший вид как на море так и на лес. В чем была привилегия небольших групп? Мест хватало всем без исключения.
2. Пикник проходил на равных условиях для всех. Бутерброды разбирались индивидуально не зависимо не от чего (если кому случайно не хватило, Виктория достаточно оперативно доделывала еще необходимое кол-во), плов накладывали в порядке очереди, не задерживая никого. Бургеры собирались на месте начиная за 1 час до того как, и к началу пикника уже были готовы 60 порций, остальную часть собрали в течении 40 минут. В чем конкретно была привилегия корпоративов? Не ясно.
3. "Наша компания хотела показать моей родственнице ЛЕс" - не хочу показаться грубым, однако подчеркну еще раз что место было выбрано, чтобы максимально удовлетворить потребности каждого (на берегу моря и возле соснового леса), и если Вы не пошли гулять в лес - это ваши индивидуальные заморочки, наша компания не несет отвественность за решения туристов: идти в лес, который начинается в 1 минуте ходьбы или не идти... Замечание достаточно странное, если честно.
4. "Согласитесь, что Ваше благое намерение всех осчастливить свелось к удовлетворению потребностей корпоративных клинтов" - поэтому данный вывод остается под большим вопросом: конкретно на основании каких фактов вы к нему пришли?.. АБСОЛЮТНО НЕ ЯСНО.
5. ЕДИНСТВЕННАЯ привилегия корпоративов (2-им из 3-х) - отдельное место на первом этаже автобуса, чтобы они своим общением друг с другом не мешали остальным клиентам.
Небольшая ремарка: данный тур готовился 4-мя сотрудниками компании на протяжении 52 часов, из которых в сутки каждый из нас спал по 3-4 часа. Да мы не все успели реализовать, что хотели в связи с форс-мажорными обстоятельствами, однако предлагаю следующее: АБСОЛЮТНО ЛЮБОЙ ТУРИСТ побывавший в данном туре получит 100% возврат денег лично от меня, в офисе нашей компании, ЕСЛИ предоставит программу по сбору грибов на Кинбурнской косе другой туристической компании с не меньшей программой по объему услуг за ту же самую стоимость, что и у нас!!! Вернем деньги даже если вы найдете тур на 20% дороже чем у нас, при тех же условиях.

Well, that year, in May, I went to this SPIT - .... no, this is not the topic of this company, and all the more so since the spit itself is not ready for tourists there, nothing is organized for tourism, you need to pray to God to sail , a pier, so that we don’t fail, some buses are small, oh, just tin ... well, etc. Believe me, the company is very normal and good, the people - Vika, Ilya, Sergey Nikolaevich - love their work very much and give everything to her, it just happens that they let them down, thus the name of the Firm is substituted. Trust them, it's especially good in the Carpathians !!!! this is their theme !!!!!!!!!
Эту фирму я нашла очень давно,очень давно,и была одним из первых ,кто поверил этой фирме и поехала с ними,не раз,не два,не пять::)) потом я привела туда много людей,и все остались довольны! Ну вот в том году в мае поехала на эту КОСУ - ....нет,это не тема этой фирмы и тем более,что там сама коса не готова к туристам-там ничего для туризма не организовано,баркасы-богу молиться надо чтобы доплыли,причал-чтоб нам не провалиться,какие-то автобусы маленькие-ой,просто жесть...ну и т.д. Поверьте,фирма очень нормальная и хорошая,люди-ВИка,ИЛья,Сергей Николаевич-очень любят свою работу и все ей отдают,просто бывает так,что подводят их,тем самым-подставляется имя ФИрмы. Доверитесь им,особенно хорошо в Карпатах!!!!это их тема!!!!!!!!!
