I will try to present the information in full... since before the trip we ourselves spent days at the monitor trying to find useful reviews. Let's start =)
1) How did you buy the tour?
Kiev travel agencies monitored for a long time. Although she is well acquainted with the leaders in the tourism market, we decided to take the risk of flying not on the big name of the company. In general, they did not regret it) The main thing is to pay attention to what time you have for departure there and back ! ! Otherwise, pay for the extra day that you spend in flight. Although everyone says that flights to Sri Lanka are only at a fixed time. I'm sure if you try you can combine your package without losing a day.
2) Borispol?

We searched for an answer in all forums . . IS IT POSSIBLE TO BRING food on an Arab airlines plane???!! ! CAN!!!! ! We took everything we wanted: sandwiches, muffins, fruits, chocolate and even seeds) No one threw anything away at the control. It’s harder with water, ours in Boryspil will deceive everyone and find)
3) Transfer in Sharjah?
Didn't take long. But the dutik there sucks, the prices are too high. None of the boards worked, they barely found their gates for landing. The waiting room is dark. One toilet and water dispenser. In general, it’s good that there was no delay, otherwise I would have had to dance out of boredom.
4) Arriving in Colombo?
Hmm... everyone wrote about currency exchange right there . . It's true. But they did not specify that currency exchange and due free AFTER passport control. It's all there and up, but they won't let you in. Do not waste time looking, just queue up to get a visa and get booze) The prices are normal, cheaper than in Boryspil. You will find a SIM card and an exchanger at the very entrance and exit of the airport. The guide ran with a list, but we also had to run after him. Organization is not good. The road to the hotel is long . . but they looked at the city.
5) Hotel?

Personally, I worked abroad in 4 different countries, I am well versed in hotel standards and I can say that you should not overestimate your needs initially, then there will be no disappointment))! ! Sleep through the night and take everything away with different eyes. But to be specific: the area of the room is large (surprisingly), the balcony is chic, the bathroom is normal, the fan and air conditioner were saved, there is a mini fridge and TV, a kettle and cups are also in place. We lived on the 3rd floor in the right block. We have not been touched by any repairs. Maybe everything was already finished by our arrival. We had breakfast. Enough. There is no variety, but we didn't go hungry. Get up only earlier, otherwise they will renew the plates if there is even 40 minutes left before the end of breakfast. Well people are what to do. I know English at a sufficient level and had to swear even with chefs, but this is not Turkey. They nod their heads and dosvidos) In the bar, the prices are exorbitant . . it's better to buy everything in the store (when leaving the hotel to the right) + a stall with a grate. Alcohol is stored there
6) Where to eat?
Since we had to think about it for lunch and dinner as well. . We went to many places and found out. It is better to take vacuum-packed sausage or boiled pork with you from home. Nothing will be lost. bought fruits, made boutiques and dinner is ready. They drank coconut and everything was good until the evening) Dinner. We ate at nearby cafes. Well, that's it. There was only one place that made us happy. Exit from the hotel to the right along the ocean. There you will see flags and a pointer. There you can drink beer, eat shrimp and rice. I wouldn't say it's the best restaurant. Since it's an option. We ate once at our hotel restaurant, dinner is no worse and the prices are reasonable) There is another restaurant on the ocean with good food and territory. Take a tuk tuk to the railway (left from the hotel) and immediately take the tables in the trees to the left. You will not regret.
7) Beach?
Everyone wrote about the stone lagoon to the right of the hotel. It's true. It's very beautiful and there are almost no waves. Photos can be taken as in a magazine) Sun loungers really occupied at 6. Although we are creepy owls, it’s somehow easy to wake up there at such an early hour. They drank coconuts like water) do not be fooled by prices of 200-300 rupees per 1 piece. 3 coconuts we bought the whole holiday for 300 rupees and no more! ! Find a common language with the merchant and that's it, every day the same price.
8) Shopping?
If you don't speak English, that's a minus. Soar will be 10 times more expensive. We traded to the winner. But there is nothing special to buy there. We also have scarves and scarves in Troyeschina (But sundresses are worth taking. The quality is excellent and the price was cool. Fruits are expensive. Mango is not at all like in Egypt. Yes, and more expensive. cool thing)) Bananas are not so hot. Even though I love them.
9) Excursions??

Oh, this is a headache... I wanted not expensive, high quality and so as not to be thrown. In general, I don’t advise you to go with scourge fights . . they don’t know Russian at all . . English. so-so. They will tell on the fingers ((It’s better with your guide already. I don’t advertise for them, but we saved $ 5 each and it’s not much use. It would be better if we went with a guide from the hotel. We found Kasum, which everyone writes about. Well, it seems like a decent office. We went not with him, but with his man. Russian 40% knows English and even more so. In short, one picture and that's it. Without information, it's not at all ((( They took: Tea plantation (complete crap, pumping money to buy tea, the tea itself sucks). Temple of the Tooth of the Buddha (interesting, but fast and hot. Botanical garden (also running, but it's gorgeous, it's worth it)! ! from excursions! Remember for the rest of your life!! ! In principle, we didn’t take 1-2 day trips. . roads and traffic jams are tin. You can’t just do a lot. You found a turtle farm yourself. It’s wonderful there))) Near the hotel there is a salad tuk- A good guy on it. And he drove to the city and chose fruits and took him to the turtles) Contact him.
10) Weather?
Fine!! ! Although everyone wrote that in March-April the rainy season! Not true. Only by April 11, evening showers began, and then for an hour. Burnt, burned and happy))
11) General picture?
Everyone smiles, but they want money. Be careful with your wallet and jewelry. They breed constantly and invent prices on the go. The population itself is not very good for me. Wild and cunning. The roads are clogged and the traffic is extreme. But nature is worth a lot. Eternal greenery and a fabulous ocean solve all problems) Massages, oils - complete nonsense ! ! divorce. Do not be fooled by their stories about the country, the offer to show, hold - they will ask for money for everything. And everyone whines how hard it is to live and there is nothing to feed the children. . blah blah blah
I will open one place for you: at the exit from the hotel to the right, at the first crossroads, go inland through the paths. . there you will find a village and an amazing temple. Silence, peace and 2 monks. This is where you can understand what Sri Lanka is. you like))
Sorry that I had to read a lot . . I hope at least something helped in preparing for the rest. Have a good trip!! !
