We chose this hotel based on the reviews of other travelers. For the first time in Sri Lanka, going on a trip, they understood that now it is not the season in Kalutara. We flew perfectly with the Airarabia airline, a comfortable flight, excellent planes, many tourists with whom we talked were outraged by the lack of food on board, I don’t see a problem: water $ 1, dinners are quite tasty and nutritious $ 6-9, quite reasonable prices. Upon arrival, I met a representative of the tour operator, got on the bus, the road to Kolutara to the hotel took 2.5 hours, at 7 in the morning we were at the hotel, we were asked to wait for the room to be vacated. Went for a walk around the area to look around. The first impression was not very positive....
) The cloudy sky of people is not visible, the hotel itself reminded an abandoned place, everything is monotonous, no colors, the territory is in palm trees, sunbeds are placed everywhere with grass bushes, and the beach began behind the fence, this was the main disappointment of the state beaches, so if you plan to sunbathe under an umbrella directly on the beach will not work. The waves are strong, the red flag is raised. Then we went to have breakfast, decided to leave further acquaintance for later. After breakfast, they appeased the receptionist with a small reward of $ 20, at about 11 they came for us and took us to the room, we got a deluxe suite on the third floor overlooking the courtyard, very clean and comfortable, in the end I was glad of this, quietly calmly, I didn’t hear too much noise.
After resting a little, we went to get acquainted with our hotel, by lunchtime the weather improved, the sun came out, we went to the pool, there were many vacationers, but the hotel did not seem crowded, there was enough space for everyone, in general, everything is fine, chipmunks run around, we were very amused)))) At the hotel you will find a calm consider there is no animation at all, music is also rarely turned on, silence is calm, the staff is polite, it is almost imperceptible, everyone does their job, there is no excessive attention, if something needs to be done immediately they will help! On the first day we made a sortie to the supermarket, bought water and so on. Immediately you feel the local Asian flavor is dirty, it doesn’t always smell good, but it’s interesting)) on the street everyone is trying to offer you something to go by, say thank you, no interest, no one is rude, everyone is quite adequate) the local population is basically nice people!

Returning to the hotel, we decided to organize leisure activities for the next 9 days)) after reading the reviews, we found the contacts of the local guide Loshan, we contacted by viber (+94716014113) already on the spot we met in the evening at the reception, do not expect that Loshan will circle around you and speak your teeth , a very calm, pleasant person, speaks good Russian, we discussed various options for spending leisure time. We took two excursions one- and two-day, had a great time, cognitively calm and relaxed. Loshan helped us in various matters, to change money, if necessary, to go to the market. We also met Loshan's brother, Sandy is a mega-positive person, they conduct excursions together.
On the first day, Loshan took his tuk-tuk to dinner in Paradise, a very sincere simple place on the ocean (if you go from the hotel to the beach on the right for a couple of minutes to walk) very tasty and cheap) Thanks to the guys, we fell in love with the locals, I highly recommend you, everything will be fine well organized, no queues etc.
The hotel is very warm and has a good atmosphere, but you will get bored if you don't take tours! On the territory where the Ayurveda center is, there is such a mini jungle where they fed monkeys, and photographed huge monitor lizards! Be sure to go there))) swimming in the ocean is dangerous, but still possible)) We went into the water up to the waist, then you can jump over the waves before it covers you near the shore))) the water is very warm.!!!
As for food at the hotel, you can eat in the main restaurant, pay and you will have a buffet, or order from the menu in the cafe by the pool, prices are not higher than in local cafes around)) Cleaning was carried out regularly, regardless of whether we left a tip or forgot, I didn't have any questions! But if you are very picky about everything in life, then in principle you are not in Sri Lanka, where relaxed people with a different worldview live, and the boundaries of order and service are a little different there))))))
