The hotel justifies its money, and if you were "swindled" more than it should be, then these are questions for the tour operator.
Rested with my wife in November 2009 (83 thousand rubles for two with a flight via Emirates). In general, almost normal. There are nuances, but this can be a purely Russian (accustomed to Turkish or Egyptian hotels) approach. Brothers and sisters!! ! YOU ARE IN CEYLON AS ANOTHER PLANET! You will not be entertained by animation morons. The food here is very different from muesli, buns, shish kebab and other mixed fodder. Lots of curry and spices. Sausages for breakfast, as in Thailand, are not always the case. But, the food is always fresh, varied and tasty. Lots of seafood. Deal only with the signs - sharp or not! Well, if you are down in life and read broke, then there is nothing to squeak about a spoiled vacation!
We rested with the Germans, who were in the hotel for the 6th time. We were accompanied by a couple who spent 8 out of 12 months of the year in the hotel (the husband is a very successful lawyer in Germany). Moreover, Tangerine is 4, and on the same territory 5 is Palm Beach!

Regarding communications (I just saw how one person put up a deuce). My dear !!! , and where did you see super duper entrances to hotels in Ceylon, and in general what do you mean by "communications". If you crave to rent a vehicle, then it is possible, but not necessary at all. Of course, you are deprived of "freedom of movement", only when you need it, where you are for the first time, and where you are a completely helpless "kitten in a huge world"! If you have already been, then you understand that this is not necessary at all! About the means of communication, I can say that there is WiFi at the reception. Well, as for mobile communications, if you buy a SIM card at the airport for about 1200-1300 rupees, then you can call home from it via IP telephony for mere pennies.
There are enough cafes in the area (along the beach and finally), so if you have a "BB", you definitely won't die of hunger.
Good luck to everyone who will go, I myself do not plan yet, but maybe I will decide !!!!
Good luck! !
