Hello! In August 2013 were in Tangerine!
Rested with family. I want to say right away that the main thing is a good mood and positive, otherwise, any hotel will seem terrible to you and with a bunch of shortcomings.

SETTLEMENT. this is the biggest negative of the hotel. we flew from Kyiv with a change in the Emirates, we were very tired, we arrived at the hotel at about 5-6 in the morning and we were told that the check-in was only from 13:00. this attitude towards us upset us enough, we just had to walk around the territory for another 7 hours.

ROOM. the room is large, cozy, large bed and one more for the 3rd person, the furniture is in good condition. the bathroom is good, quite comfortable. Kettle, tea, coffee and cream in the room. daily cleaning, and even twice a day, change of towels (which, by the way, 3 per person) - no complaints. large balcony - with dryer, table and chairs.

I was a little embarrassed by the terrible humidity - the swimsuits did not dry out even in a day and all the clothes were constantly wet, but this is a trifle compared to the general impression : )

FOOD. quite decent. only took breakfast and dinner. breakfasts are monotonous, as in all hotels, but the choice is really large - sausages, several types of eggs, vegetables, fruits, pastries, yogurt, muesli. dinner is good, a large selection for every taste - some spicy, some more moderate cuisine. fruits made me happy every day. pleasant live music awaits you at dinner.

HOTEL. Internet for a fee, but immediately upon leaving the hotel there is a fancy sea food cafe where you will find free Wi-Fi. the buildings are large, decent, nice to be. poolside loungers, umbrellas and towels. however, if you want a good place - take early. the pool is nice, clean, lots of greenery. there are a lot of palm trees, squirrels that eat out of hand and a lot of birds on the territory of the hotel.
once even an iguana crawled in (it's not dangerous) and became a local camera star : )

BEACH AND SEA. the beach is large, nice sand. the sea is very rough, few people swam. shallow enough, the waves are really huge, but we are big fans and it didn’t bother us a bit. if you still decide to go in, a lifeguard will follow you with a whistle and sometimes whistle if you swam far, so there is nothing to be afraid of. the main thing is not to panic in the waves and enjoy the real living element.

LOCAL RESIDENTS. nice, nice people. smiling, looking surprised, not dangerous and not aggressive. when you go to the beach behind the fence, there are a lot of them and everyone will start to offer you something. on the first day we found a guy named Anton (or Anthony), who knows Russian very well and he was simply indispensable to us throughout the rest!

he took us by tuk-tuk to the city to the fruit market, showed us local sights, we went on an excursion with him to Galle (only as a family) and to the local waterfall. he always gave advice, helped in communicating with the locals, told everything. Feel free to go to him - you will not regret it! Sri Lanka behind the hotel was more interesting to us than within it : )

the hotel is quite decent, in a quiet location, good for families. a lot of English, a few Germans and quite a lot of Georgians, Russians.

and most importantly - do not believe bad reviews, because everyone has good and bad in their own way : )
