We returned from Sri Lanka a couple of days ago! I want to share with you my impressions and can give a couple of tips for those who are going to a remote island to the Indian Ocean. The hardest thing we faced was the travel time: we spent a day from our house to the hotel! But it was worth it! Endless sandy shores, gentle warm ocean, gorgeous waves, bright greenery, sun, and friendly people. By nature, I am a very untrusting person, and I am very afraid of excursions from strangers, apparently they were intimidated earlier in travel agencies with different stories. So I honestly went to meet the tour operator's guide at the appointed time, and what do you think? He did not come! The only way out was to take excursions from the locals) and we did not regret it! First of all, everything is very organized, punctual, we went to Yala Park, and to the mangrove islands of Lake Kogala. The local guide Jiminy, who can easily be found on the beach, organized excellent excursions for us, in which we were able to see everything and even more! As our roommates said, it’s not scary with him) it is, you should trust people)
