Were in this hotel December 2018 - January 2019. First things first:
1. We arrived at Colombo airport in the morning, at 10 o'clock, checked in, got our luggage. We (as expected) were met by a representative of the tour operator company and we began to wait for everyone who was supposed to fly on other flights, but they had to go with us... It took 2 hours, and it would seem 160 km to the hotel - a couple of hours drive and you already on the ocean, BUT (this is the first and biggest BUT) the bus journey took 6 hours, and this is after 8 hours of flight! It was the first time in Asia, so somehow they were not ready for this at all. As it turned out later, at the airport you can safely take a taxi for $ 60 or even use Uber. And the way to the hotel will take 2.5 hours and you don’t have to wait for anyone! So do not feel sorry and do not wait for anyone - use a taxi! We booked a transfer to the airport (in a comfortable car directly from the hotel) and saved 2.5 hours for rest!
2. They settled into the hotel very quickly, gave them delicious juice with ice, brought things to the room - in general, everything is like everywhere else - clearly and calmly!

3. At the expense of the number, it's like anyone, but we were absolutely delighted! The first floor, the balcony overlooks the ocean (which is only 50 meters away) and the green lawn. The second BUT is only if someone does not like insects, crabs, then it might be worth taking a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor (although I don’t think that this will save from them, after all, these are the tropics! ). Of the minuses of the room... if only not a working TV (lack of remote control) and a leaky shower, but all this was fixed on demand! The room itself is quite decent, large enough, cleaning was done daily, towels were changed (outdoor towels daily, the rest for 10 days - 3 times) - maybe for someone this is important... water, tea, coffee - they always left everything!
4. At the expense of food (we had breakfast and dinner), one thing can be said - dinner was superfluous! Fed remarkably, European food. For lovers of Asia - there are separate local dishes. There were always seafood, fruits and vegetables, sweets, chicken and meat, tea and coffee. For breakfast - quite a delicious scrambled eggs / scrambled eggs with bacon and croissants with fruit - in general, you can find what you can always eat and not be hungry. Why dinner is superfluous, read on...
5. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants around the hotel. One of them - 100 meters from the hotel (immediately to the right of the main entrance) - great food for quite affordable money (for $ 20-25 you can have a wonderful dinner for two, lobster will be a little more expensive). Food for every taste - from seafood freshly caught in the ocean, to grilled chicken, rice and other national dishes! All other cafes/restaurants are located nearby and the level of food and service is very decent everywhere! So, due to the fact that dinner at the hotel was included, we missed the opportunity from the very first days to get acquainted with seafood and local cafes, and when we learned about everything that surrounds us, we stopped going to dinner...
6. The exchange rate of rupees to the dollar: 1 $ = 180 local rupees.
7. In the hotel area you are surrounded by a huge number of tuk-tuks with friendly drivers. Almost everyone speaks English, and most speak Russian. Attention!! ! You should not tell them that you have just arrived and that for the first time in Asia, they, like everyone else, are trying to earn money (for which, of course, they should not be condemned). But they are happy to take you for 200-250 rupees to a local alcohol stall (there are only 2 near the hotel), as well as to the nearest fruit shops, to large cities, to the lake and will accompany you everywhere!

8. Alcohol Attention! The prices are fixed and they are indicated on each jar / bottle, no one has the right to sell you above these prices. The main thing is to point out to them that you know about it and recalculate the total amount for them on the calculator!
9. On the beach there are (as elsewhere) beach-fights. They all speak quite tolerably Russian/English. We were lucky to meet Jiminy - a miracle man: he can take a tuk-tuk in any direction (or recommend friends), organizes excursions for every taste! NEVER take a tour from the tour operator in the hotel (we unknowingly fell for their trick, which we very much regretted). And he also has awesome shrimp with delivery by a certain time to the hotel or to the beach!
10. And finally, at the expense of the ocean, the beach... This hotel is the largest with the most luxurious endless beach in the region. Taking into account the fact that there is an open ocean on the beach, there are no coral reefs or bays, there are always waves, not small ones! We swam almost every day, initially a little scary and unusual, but then great and extreme. In the last 2 days, a cyclone came, waves 3-5 meters high, a red flag - in such conditions you can’t swim anymore, so you need to be ready for this!
So think for yourself, decide for yourself! Have a nice holiday!
