Of the 3 hotels (long Beach, Koggala Beach, Koggala Village), Long Beach is the newest and best. The rooms are spacious, with ocean views, air conditioning, fan. Cleaning is daily, towels are changed approximately 1/3 of the day, there are beach and bathroom towels. A photo of the room is attached. Only 3 floors, I lived on the second, I liked it there most of all - the view of the ocean is wonderful, and it’s not as damp as on the first one, you have your own balcony, which people don’t constantly walk past.
There's a pool, but what's the point of it when there's an ocean? Except in the evening or at night. The staff is very friendly, smiles and greets, of course, not everyone knows English, but a couple of basic phrases according to the type of activity - yes. Russian is bad, but the locals have already begun to learn it.

Breakfasts are quite decent: in addition to the usual "toast. cereal. eggs. bacon. sausage. cheese. vegetables. omelettes", there are local dishes and fruits (4-5 types, pineapple, papaya, mango, grapefruit, watermelon). The coffee is instant and terrible, however, it was ground a couple of times for steaming.
Dinner, of course, more plentiful, a lot of delicious. True, it's a bit late - at 7-30 the beginning, given the fact that it's already dark at 6. The bar in Long Beach is more expensive than in Kogala Beach. The restaurant between Long Beach and Kogala Beach (walk along the road) is not great, it looks like a kindergarten, the food is tolerable, the prices are the same as everywhere else. I recommend, of course, restaurants on Unawatuna beach, in the middle and final part, closer to the Buddhist temple. The prices are approximately the same, the view is the level of a Berdyansk cafe on the waterfront. I liked The Villa - beautiful wooden tables on a flat surface, everything is clean and colorful. Prices: shrimp fried in batter or grilled (pieces 12-15.5-6 cm each without a head) + rice or french fries = 700 rupees, also with squid or fish, soup 300-400 rupees, beer 250-350 rupees. The local main fish is tuna, as I understand it.
It is very good to buy fruit in a shop on the main street of Unawatuna, such a large shop with a large selection of fruits and vegetables, prices are lower than in the fruit market in Galle, and the choice is richer. Pineapple will be peeled and cut in front of you for 170 rupees, bananas from 80 to 400 per kg, depending on the variety, and much more. Passion fruit, rambutans, mangoes are delicious. By the way, rambutans near Galle are sold directly from the car for 100 rupees-8 pieces. From the local, I also recommend trying RUTI - the middle between Armenian lavash and pancake, not spicy and not salty, if with fillings - fish, eggs, vegetables, then spicy, the price is 30-50 rupees. As for curry, it's a personal matter for everyone, for me it's not deadly spicy, but too spicy.
There are several shops on the street in Unawatuna where you can buy colored tunics and cotton scarves for 300-400 rupees. You can do the same on the beach, but the choice of flowers is less. In Galle itself or in the town 1-2 km to the right (i. e.

in the opposite direction from Galle) in specialized stores, buy fabrics - silk and cotton, and their mixtures with a large variety of colors, colors and textures for 150-400 rupees per meter. Recommend.
The beach is full of beach boys and beach men who are VERY strongly recommended. The list of their services - from the organization of excursions to the sale of shrimp, alcohol and cigarettes. Cigarettes are expensive there, very strong, there are few brands, they are sold in blocks. It is really easier to take alcohol from the battles, because for tourists in local strictly specialized shops of a slightly gangster look, they sell it for 400-600 rupees more expensive. Red rum 1300 rupees for 0.7 or 1 liter (I don't remember), arak (coconut moonshine, purified) 700 rupees.
Excursions: turtle farm 0.5 km along the beach towards Unawatuna Galle, 400 rupees entrance. Galle with fort-800-1000 rupees for a tuk-tuk roundtrip.
So you shouldn't take a special tour, where they will tell you something (precisely something) in broken English or even more broken Russian. There are a lot of spice gardens everywhere, one of them is 300 meters from the hotel near the lake, a tuk-tuk will cost you 150 rupees round trip. It’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth buying something there, but the epilator ointment works the same as the usual one from the stores, oil for the joints doesn’t help my mom in a week, buy sandalwood oil in shops in the city 10 times cheaper. I liked the effect of sandalwood beauty cream on a friend, but I didn’t dare to buy it myself - everything doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing.
Pay attention to the excursion to Kandy (elephant orphanage, botanical garden in Peradeniya, Kandy with the Temple of the Tooth Relic, tea plantation and factory, waterfall). There are 1-day and 2-day. It is clear that they are bred for 2 days, arguing that you get very tired in 1 day.

It's really hard to get up at 4 in the morning, drive for 5 hours, then back the same amount and arrive at 12 at night. But the point is that in a 2-day plan you will have everything basic exactly on the 1st day, just then in the evening you will not go to the hotel, but settle near Kandy, look at the local dances, and the next day visit either Mount Siragchi, it seems, or another Naruel park, it seems. In this case, the tea plantation will be larger, and you will also ride in a trailer through nature. The cost for 6 people and a beach-boy for 1 day is 70 bucks, for 2 days - 130.
Pay attention to the local scourge "Lesha", he is Litii, a young guy about 20 years old, for Russian-speaking and non-English speakers, he will be very attractive because he supposedly speaks Russian well. Says, but the stock is limited to self-advertising, tours and brief information about food and alcohol.
On a trip to Kandy, it came out too late, he practically didn’t say ANYTHING, and if it weren’t for his friend, who knew English, it would be completely sad. By the way, some girl who has already used his services and is very satisfied can recommend him. Somehow he manages to please him. But it's up to you.
In summary, I will say that Sri Lanka is a very beautiful country, with interesting people, beautiful nature! Ride!
