Where to start, in fact, very mixed feelings upon arrival... I will not go into details, it is very unpleasant to recall some moments of the work of the Join. up tour operator. But I'll tell you a little anyway. Arriving at the hotel - no promised Russian-speaking guide was waiting for us and there was no question of any early settlement, we were hungry, tired, dirty, wandered around the hotel and waited for 12.00. Then the staff came up to us and said that this is not the exact time yet and wait for an indefinite time. We started to boil everything and indignantly call the guide - it worked, after 10 minutes Yura was in place and after another 10 minutes we were settled. Well, believe me, it's very annoying. But all the troubles were washed away by the ocean - it is indescribably beautiful - the cleanest wide beach, these waves..... it's just magical... I want to return again and again... it's like a dream...
I want to note - 7 days for such a country is very short, very little... I wanted to travel on excursions and swim...
It's funny to remember the New Year, for which they paid 75 USD. from a person. The food was just the sea, and for every taste and color... just one thing but... there was no water, no juice, and even more so alcoholic beverages. All this is paid. There was tea, but they broke the outlet on the kettle and the water was just warm. On the pleasant side, live music was playing... very beautiful and the fireworks were not bad.

Tuk-tuks were just annoying, well, very intrusive... I don’t understand why they write that tuk-tuk is the cheapest transport in Sri Lanka. I can say one thing - for tourists, the prices for a trip, fruits increase very significantly, this also does not touch. We rode local buses in Galle and Unawatuna - and what, but fun and just for a penny. There was not enough time to ride on the railroad... I'm sorry.
I really wanted to see Nuwara Eliya, tea plantations, waterfalls, but there was no separate excursion, I had to take it for two days and go through Kandy with an overnight stay. What can I say? It's sooooo tiring… The serpentine is hard. It took a very long time on the road and they settled in a hotel where it was sooooo cold, there was no warm water and metal sheets on the roof rattled from the wind. But for Sri Lanka, this is a luxury villa. It was very scary, as if the roof was about to blow off. Everywhere a continuous ripping off of money, at 140u. e. per person included only the road, dinner, overnight stay and breakfast at the hotel "Benota". You had to pay for everything: 2000 rupees to ride an elephant, 2000 to get to the elephant nursery for 15 minutes, 1100 rupees for the entrance to the royal botanical garden, 1000 rupees to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, you still had to pay extra to watch their folk dances and so on small things it turns out very sickly. Russian-speaking Sri Lankan guides, from whom you just need to pull information, do not tell anything themselves. We really liked the driver and accompanying person, just wonderful cheerful people.
We only had breakfast. We were dissatisfied with breakfasts, maybe we are just not used to such light food... And the food in the fish restaurant is not bad, but expensive, on average we got 2500 rupees, somehow expensive... Ideally, you need to take breakfast-dinner and lie on the beach all 7 days. I liked the cuisine in the Tartaruga restaurant, this is Unawatuna. For the first time we tried lobster and grilled shrimp (2 lobsters and a portion of shrimp, fresh beer - 6700 rupees). Expensive... but very . . very very tasty....
But no matter what, very nice Sri Lankans, beautiful empty beaches, exotic in a word, this is a place where you should go and come back... only fond memories remain...
