We rested from 16.12. 13 to 24.12. 2013. We took a deluxe room with a sea view. Make no mistake, all that is beautiful in this hotel is the view from the window. Deluxe is a very loud word, since the windows, doors, wardrobe, everything is knocked down with ordinary nails and painted with paint, the walls are ordinary whitewash (photo is attached), as we jokingly called "eco hotel". The stunning view from the window saved the situation. Of course, there were rooms where whitewashing was fresh, and a plasma TV, but the essence does not change. The bed has stains, it can be seen that it was washed, and even ironed. Food is divided into two types - spicy and very spicy. Our hotel moved to the hotel "Koggala Beach 3 *" so there were better rooms. The beach is very long, but there are always waves, it is not possible to swim, even if you swim well, you have to go to the lagoon in Unawatuna (then there are a lot of cafes, like on the coast of some village on the Black Sea) or in Jungle Beach (there are no cafes, but it's a long way to go). Turtles, monkeys and other animals do not walk along the beaches and do not run after you, they are not there, everyone has long fled from tourists. It’s far from all the sights from Koggala, 5-6 hours one way, so you won’t ride much. It is boring in Koggala itself, there is nowhere to go. Near the hotel there are two cafes, if something better you need to go to Unawatuna. Locals on tuk tuks make a fool of a terrible thing, if you agree, for example, to go for 500 rupees, then when they bring it back they say no, let's go for 1500 rupees. Everything is expensive for tourists, for example, a kilogram of banana from $3. Beer is about $4. There is absolutely nothing to buy there. You can go to Galle, there is Rich Look (like a modern store) there you can choose a couple of men's T-shirts, but nothing for women. There is the city of Matare, 40 km from Koggala, there are modern shops, but it cannot be said that it is especially cheap and fashionable. Maybe something is good, but in Colombo, a trip to Colombo will cost you a hundred dollars if you agree with the locals. The nature is beautiful, but annoying, because there is nowhere to go or go, the beach and that's it. If I went to Sri Lanka next time, I would rather take a tour for five days to the center of Sri Lanka, to travel around all the parks, attractions, and then to the sea for three or four days. The flight, also very heavy, very tired. If you have specific questions, please write to me.
