We started planning our trip to Sri Lanka back in March 2012, although we were going to go only in September. Plans are plans, and thinking and sorting out hotels, excursions, coasts, etc. we quietly crept up to the date of departure. Hotels were selected, excursions were agreed and we went to the tour operator to book hotels chosen with such difficulty (I’ll say right away that I always approach planning my vacation thoroughly) and then the first surprise while we were choosing hotels was that the places for the dates we needed were already occupied. And we initially chose Chaaya Blu and Blue Water Resor. And we again (only in a short time) choose hotels, as a result, the choice fell on - JUNGLE BEACH Resort and Bentota Beach. Why am I telling in such detail - because despite the problems that have arisen, we have never regretted our choice. So the first hotel we went to in Sri Lanka was the JUNGLE BEACH Resort.
It takes quite a long time to get to the hotel, about 8 hours, and if we take into account the 11 hours of flight, then the journey is still something... but we were mentally prepared and therefore everything went well. On the way, we looked at the villages, nature and amazing driving on the roads of Sri Lanka. Of course, we hoped that the hotel would be good, since it is not very cheap and it is only 3 months old, the hotel not only met our expectations, but also exceeded them. I will try to describe the hotel and our bungalow. At the entrance to the hotel, you pass through a large gate, which is guarded around the clock by two security guards, along a beautiful path sprinkled with red clay, approach a wooden deck in the form of a bridge that leads to the reception. The roof above the flooring is made of large palm leaves, the hotel positions itself as an eco-friendly hotel. During its construction, only ecological materials were used and the green area (trees, bushes) was almost completely preserved. Every guest gets immediate attention. We were greeted with cool towels and cocktails (I must say right away that during our vacation we visited 7 hotels and everywhere we were greeted equally well, but only in this hotel the cocktail was made from freshly squeezed fruit). We were shown the room that we booked (it was a room on the 1st floor in a two-story house with windows overlooking the lagoon), but as we passed we saw a bungalow with access to the beach and that's it....I want, I dream, let's... we got what what they wanted (albeit for an extra charge) and finally we are in our bungalow. The room is about 40 meters, divided into 2 zones. Zone 1 - a large bed (by the way, a stunning orthopedic mattress) 2x2 meters, a small sofa, a desk with a TV, two stylish floor lamps. The ceilings are approximately 7.5 meters, access to the veranda (the wall is all glass), on the veranda there are 2 trestle beds, a table and chairs. Zone 2 - large wardrobe, tea and coffee making area (tea, coffee, cream, milk and water replenished daily). Bathroom about 15 meters, euro-shower, mini perfumes, towels, hair dryer, etc. The second shower on the street (very cool to wash there after the beach) hot and cold water around the clock. From the veranda there is a personal path to the ocean (10 meters) under beautiful woven trees, especially when it gets dark and we turned on the spotlight, the trees seemed fabulous, the beauty is incredible.
Beach: a huge, clean strip of beach. The ocean is calm and azure, cappuccino-colored sand and unusually soft, the only negative is the black clay that it brings to the shore, the clay does not get dirty and does not interfere, but it does not look very good in the photo. There are more than enough trestle beds on the beach, there are two trestle beds under one large umbrella. As soon as you appear on the beach, a hotel employee immediately rushes to you with towels and mattresses. On the beach there are two towers (also under palm leaves) with security, lifeguards are on duty. There were no Slavs at the hotel of our brothers, there were Dutch, British, Australians, and therefore there was almost never anyone on the beach besides us, as the locals explained to us, they don’t like the beach (they really don’t want to sunbathe), and foreigners prefer the pool. Every day we enjoyed swimming, diving and catching crabs.

Swimming pool: sustained, like everything else in this eco-style hotel, clean, beautiful, there is a jacuzzi area and a children's area, the water is very warm and clear, the service is the same as everywhere else, just come to the pool they already carry towels, turn on the jacuzzi and look in in the mouth trying to understand, Cheno we still wish.
Restaurant: Very stylish, beautiful and tasty. I myself have been working in a restaurant for 5 years and I can appreciate the quality of the dishes - the quality is very high, but during our vacation the chef was absent for 2 days, these days the quality has dropped a lot, we asked the waiter why, explained that the hotel is new and chefs have taken the best in the country, but the staff is still learning. Breakfast - buffet, but not in the sense of "a La Turkey" is more of a continental breakfast - coffee, tea, fresh juices, toast, fruit, smoothies, muesli, omelettes, scrambled eggs, waffles, jams. Dinner is a custom menu, if you stay at the hotel for 20 days, then I think that the menu will get a little bored, but if it’s 8-10 days, then you’ll like it. The menu includes 4 types of soups, 3 types of pasta, sea dishes, meat dishes, many desserts, salads, sandwich burgers. There are themed dinners.
