From May 21 to May 28, Anex Tour conducted a Moroccan info tour for Russian travel agencies. This is a new direction of the tour operator, which I also discovered for myself.

The flight took place on May 21 at 13.20 from the Moscow Domodedovo airport by UTair. We were waiting for a 6 hour flight, but given the time difference, we arrived at Agadir airport at 17.00. The group was met by the Russian-speaking guide Natalia and the English-speaking representative of the host office Mustafa (as you understand, a local resident and our guide).

Transfer to the hotel took no more than 30 minutes. We followed the winding road, followed by the green scenery outside the window. Small private houses, met on the way, looked forward to immersion in the local flavor. Meanwhile, Mustafa and Natalia brought us up to date: Agadir is more like a European resort, the locals are very modern, they speak French and English perfectly, the currency is the dirham, but the euro is also in use (10 to 1, respectively).

Mostly tourists come to Agadir for the mild climate, which helps to get rid of stress and general fatigue.

Soon we arrived at the Iberostar Founty Beach hotel. The group was greeted with a warm welcome, offering a national compliment of nuts and dried fruits. After dinner at the "buffet" we went to our rooms to gain strength, because the next day we had a busy program of visiting hotels.

For obvious reasons, the Iberostar Founty Beach was the first hotel we started researching. The four-star hotel operates on an all-inclusive basis. Located on the first coastline, 25 km from the airport and just 1 km from the city center. Private sandy beach: umbrellas, sun loungers, towels - of course, free of charge. The rooms are very spacious, decorated in European style, but with elements of national decor.

The main fund is made up of "double" and family rooms, there are also suites, suites and rooms for people with disabilities. Five modern establishments: two restaurants, three bars (including by the pool) offer the best examples of local and international cuisine. The hotel has a hairdresser, beauty salon, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, massage room and indoor pool. For sports, the hotel provides a fitness room, tennis court, volleyball, basketball and mini-football court. The children's concept is represented by a miniclub, a playground and a pool for kids.

The main advantage of Iberostar Founty Beach is the cuisine, it is not only varied, but also incredibly tasty. Huge selection of Moroccan sweets. Meat, poultry and fish are cooked in tajines, massive ceramic pots tightly sealed with a conical lid. Most likely, it is in this special lid and spices that the secret of Moroccan dishes lies.

It is worth noting that mainly Europeans - Germans and French - rest in Iberostar Founty Beach. I would recommend this hotel for an active family vacation. Life on its territory is in full swing - both parents and children will certainly not be left idle here.

Next we visited the five-star Palais des Roses hotel. I must say right away that the concept of the hotel is non-alcoholic. However, if tourists bring duty-free alcohol with them, no one will forbid drinking it. Including a drink, you can take it to the restaurant, where a table is served specially for this. The territory of the Palais des Roses justifies the name of the hotel - it is a large flowering garden: palm trees, small waterfalls, lush greenery and, of course, rose bushes. The view from the windows of the building, made in the traditional Moroccan style, is simply divine.

The hotel is famous for the largest thalassotherapy center in Africa. Its area is 1.000 m2:70 treatment rooms, 4 hydrotherapy pools, Jacuzzi with sea water.

Here you will be offered to take several courses, including hot baths, hammam, manual massage, mud treatment and seaweed treatment.

The five-star hotels of the French chain Sofitel made a special impression on me. Unusual design in hi-tech style interspersed with Moroccan elements. The symbol of Sofitel Thalassa & Spa is water. It is this element that is beaten in its design. Upon arrival, your card is blocked for 500 dirhams per day per person or accepted in cash. If a kind of deposit is not fully used, the money will be returned to you on the day of departure. By the way, Sofitel Thalassa & Spa is the only hotel in Agadir with direct access to the beach without a promenade. There is a large SPA center where they do a wonderful massage; swimming pool with sea water and heating; there are free yoga sessions in the morning and evening. In the A La Cart restaurant, tables are served with silverware and live music is played in the evenings. This hotel is designed for quiet rest and peaceful relaxation.

The symbol of the Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay hotel is fire, which is also reflected in its design. The building is made in the Moorish style and creates the image of a traditional city-fortress "kasbah". On the one hand, a luxurious, but at the same time, very comfortable hotel. On the open terraces there are sofas, in the pool area there are artificial islands with palm trees, decorative gazebos and bridges. Carved wooden furniture, paintings, bronze lamps and ornamental vases. Dining is served on the patio or on the veranda under the shade of palm trees. SPA services and massage. Here, upon arrival, they block 1000 dirhams per day, but not per person, but per room. It is noteworthy that pets up to 5 kg are allowed to stay in this hotel. Welcome ladies with dogs!

I’ll tell you briefly about the rest of the hotels, noting only the main points (you can find a full description on our website). So, Les Omaydes 4 * is a compact cozy hotel. Type of food - "all inclusive". It takes 5-10 minutes to walk along the promenade to the beach.

I give him a good four. Budget option for a great holiday.

Omega Hotel 3*. The only negative, perhaps, is the distance from the beach and the city center. However, you can get to the beach using the shuttle bus, which drives up to the hotel every 2 hours from 9.00 to 18.00, the journey takes only 10 minutes. However, there is free Wi-Fi in the lobby and rooms. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable, decorated in a traditional Arabic style. Captivates with the friendliness of the staff and genuine hospitality. There is a disco bar nearby. With a company, I would go here, and I spent the money saved on the hotel on souvenirs and excursions.

LTI Beach Club 4 * is located on the first coastline, provides for all types of food, has five restaurants, four of which are A La Cart, one is the main one. European service, excellent combination of "price - quality". The hotel is quite consistent with its category.

The building of the Royal Atlas 5 * hotel was built in the shape of a horseshoe - a modern and original solution, with a beautiful garden where the most expensive palm trees grow. The quality of the hotel service is beyond praise: bathrobes in the rooms, Russian-speaking staff, gourmet cuisine, all types of food…. Everything else - the first coastline. This hotel deserves a solid five.

Decameron Tafoukt Beach 4 * is located in the city center, on the first coastline. Leaving the hotel, you immediately find yourself on the embankment. Type of food - "all inclusive". The menu in the main restaurant changes every day. The food is very tasty - personally verified by me during dinner!

The third day of our stay in Morocco, we decided to diversify with a city tour, but to begin with, nevertheless, we examined five more hotels.

Azeni Golden Tulip 4 * - simple, but very pleasant; building with nine floors. The last floor has been completely renovated, offering a wonderful panoramic view of the city.

I had a chance to talk with tourists resting in the hotel, absolutely everyone was satisfied.

Across the road is the hotel Les Almohades 4 *. Interesting exterior design, the building has the shape of a cascade. Private beach at a distance of 400 m. All types of food.

Argana 3 * is a very good hotel for the three-star category: good rooms, private beach, several types of food: BB, HB, FB. By the way, this is where we put our crew.

Ryad Magador Al Madina 4 * - a hotel with a non-alcoholic concept. The public beach is 300 meters away. Standard rooms do not have balconies, but most have ocean views. Seven restaurants: Italian, international, poolside grill, Moroccan, Lebanese, ice cream restaurant; 3 bars: lobby bar, pool bar and music bar.

Atlantic 3 * - a city hotel with a private beach, which can be reached in 15 minutes.

Small rooms, a small restaurant - an economy option for those who come for an excursion program and are planning trips to neighboring cities.

With hotels that day it was “finished” and after lunch in Argana, we went to explore the city, its markets and local surroundings. The introductory tour of Agadir began with an ascent to the top of the hill, where the ancient Kasbah fortress used to be. Its ruins are the only surviving place after the earthquake in 1960. The most destructive earthquake in Moroccan history with a magnitude of 5.7 claimed about 16 thousand lives. The city was destroyed to the ground, so they decided to rebuild it again. The place was personally chosen by King Mohammed V. Construction was carried out using anti-seismic technologies of that time and taking into account the prospects for the development of tourism in the country. As a result, a city was created that was completely different from other cities in the Kingdom.

First of all, it lacks the Medina - the old part and an indispensable attribute of the Berber cities.

From the top of the hill, there was an impressive panoramic view: the yellow sandy beach, the port and the piers with trawlers.

The beach of Agadir stretches for over 10 km. In 2008, active construction of the promenade took place on its territory. Now a walking area stretches along the embankment, which, of course, cannot but rejoice, since now there is an opportunity to walk along the ocean in comfort. Which is what we did first when we went down the hill.

The port of Agadir is a complex complex, including several industrial refrigerators and canneries processing fish and seafood. There are mini-restaurants in the port where you can eat the freshest seafood for very reasonable money: sardines, perch, tuna, shrimp, lobsters and crayfish.

In any restaurant they will be grilled with lemon or tangerine. Alcohol is sold everywhere and quite inexpensively. Please note that its sale ends at 20.00, but local wine and beer are not inferior to French ones! Every day, a fish auction is held in the port in the morning. Even here, the Moroccans do not change their favorite tradition of haggling!

Skills and abilities in this matter were useful to me when our group ended up in the old market, which is called "souk". The territory of the Agadir souq is the largest in Morocco and is surrounded by battlements. All products are divided into categories and each category has a separate entrance. Light canopies cover almost the entire market, protecting buyers from the scorching sun. The Agadir market presents everything that the Moroccan south is rich in, from household to agricultural products.

The Agadir souk is the only place in Morocco where Russians are immediately recognized, and precisely because we know how to bargain well, the locals respect us for this. So I bargained for Moroccan shawls for 30 dirhams, although the original price was declared at 100!

The next point of our trip around the city was the state cooperative engaged in the production of argan oil. In a large room, women sat on the floor, picking dried argan fruit from baskets. Initially fleshy, larger than olives, they resemble almonds in shape. The workers cleaned the fruits of fibers, cracking the thick shells of the stones with stones. Then the extracted nucleoli were fried in large pans over low heat. And only then, with the help of a mechanical press, women pressed the oil, filtering it through a special paper. In the store at the cooperative, I bought myself a bottle of argan oil and cosmetics based on it.

Now, having returned to Russia, I am experimenting and waiting for a “wonderful” transformation of my skin and hair!

Before leaving for dinner at the Sofitel, we enjoyed strolling through the new residential areas of Agadir. By the way, by the door you can find out the well-being of the family living in the house. The more luxurious and larger the door, the wealthier the tenants behind it. Here is such a kind of business card. Naturally, the richest quarter, the so-called "Swiss district", is located in the city center. Lots of greenery, flowers and beautiful villas…. There is also a mosque of Mohammed V, the grandfather of the current king. The building of unusual architecture, in a modern Moorish style. This is the largest mosque in the city.

At 8 am our group left for the very heart of Morocco - the city of Marrakesh. We planned to stay here for 2 days and therefore settled in the local hotel Golden Tulip. Travel time from Agadir to Marrakech was no more than 3 hours.

The assortment of the market is simply incredible: sweets, spices, natural cosmetics, fabrics embroidered with gold, souvenirs ...You can order a national costume or bed linen, which will be sewn for you within a few hours.

The ancient city streets are very narrow, the traffic here is very difficult, so we just walked, plunging into the atmosphere of the Arab civilization that had preserved the primitiveness. So we came across the Jewish shopping district. By the way, did you know that in Morocco the Jews are a recognized national minority. Quietly get along with the Arabs.

In Medina, we also visited the Bahia Palace, learned how noble and wealthy Moroccans lived in the 19th century. We saw Madrassah Ben Yusuf - a real masterpiece of architecture of the Merenid era. A landmark for lost tourists is the main mosque of Marrakech - Koutoubia, the tallest building in the city.

Arabs say that Marrakech is “the pearl thrown by Allah over the Atlas Mountain”. I can't help but agree.

Our dinner was held in one of the best restaurant complexes in the city - Palais Arabe. Meals were served in Berber tents of nomads, accompanied by performances by ensembles from seven regions of Morocco, as well as the Fakir Show. The culmination of the evening was the show "Fantasy": Moroccan horse riding, oriental and Berber dances. It was a real trip to the festive atmosphere of the Moroccan South.

On the fifth day of our tour, we decided to visit Essaouira, a former Phoenician trading settlement that was called "Magador" during the colonial period. The fortress is the cradle of Moroccan artists of all genres, a fishing harbor and a functioning market. On the way to Essaouira, we admired the landscapes of the Atlantic coast, banana and argan plantations.

In the city, they walked along the narrow streets past the windows and doors, made in the traditional artistic style. And the cabinetmakers demonstrated their skills to us - furniture made of fragrant and valuable species of trees: arborvitae, cedar, ebony interspersed with silver threads and mother-of-pearl. Next time I'm in Morocco, I'll definitely take a small table with me!

Back in Agadir, we checked into the Azeni Golden Tulip Hotel. Tomorrow we had the last "spurt" to inspect the hotels.

So, a little more about hotels.

Sud Bahia 3 * - an old hotel, the second coastline, but there is a private beach within a 10-minute walk: sun loungers, umbrellas, however, you need to take your own towels. On the territory of two swimming pools, including children, one restaurant. There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby. A very budget option.

Marhaba 2* is a city hotel, currently under reconstruction, the opening will take place in September.

I saw the rooms after the restoration, they look very nice. Two pools. There is no private beach.

Tulip Inn Oasis. I'll be honest: officially declared as a 4 * hotel, but the fact is 3 *. Private beach 7 minutes walk. The city center can be reached in 5 minutes. Free Wi-Fi and fitness room. Offers services of a children's mini club.

Beach Albatros 4*. I give this hotel a good four: all types of food, a large selection of food, only 250 meters from the beach, live music plays daily, active animation during the day, a disco in the evening. Excellent rooms. On the territory there are a casino, a tennis court, mini-golf and football grounds. Hotel for active tourists.

Best Western Odyssee Park 4*. The hotel is located in the heart of Agadir, on the second coastline. Own beach. Free Wi-Fi and fitness room. I liked that all rooms have balconies or terraces.

Riu Tikida Dunas 4*. When we got to this hotel, I was very surprised: unlike the others, it was overcrowded.

Tourists are attracted by spacious rooms and a large green area: an exotic garden and 4 swimming pools. By the way, the design of the complex is made in the Andalusian style, and the hotel managers are Spaniards. Riu Tikida Dunas is located 1 km from the city center, on the first coastline - its own beach.

Riu Tikida Beach 4 * works on an all-inclusive basis. On the territory of 3 restaurants, 2 swimming pools, free Wi-Fi. Offers a children's mini-club. Located on the first coastline - private beach: free umbrellas, sun loungers, towels. Animation until 24.00. I want to note that the hotel has a restaurant with an insanely beautiful view of the ocean.

Riu Tikida Palace 5 * - in a word, a stunning hotel. It stands on the first coastline. You will definitely not find rooms with a bad view from the window in this hotel: the ocean, mountains, pool, green area. Very good kids club: games room - tables, TV; outdoor playground, open at any time, swimming pool for the little ones.

Riu Tikida Palace has its own fenced beach area. Very colorful sunbeds: tents, sofas with pillows.

I want to note that three hotels of the Riu Tikida chain are very close, but tourists living in them are not allowed to use the territory of their neighbors.

Atlas Amadil 4 * is located on the first coastline, close enough to the center. It is noteworthy that this hotel has its own water park with five slides. But you can also get there from the street: on weekdays, the entrance is 250 dirhams, on weekends - 300.

Hotel Argana 3*+. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Kids club and kids menu. The hotel is good because it is located just 300 meters from the beach and 500 meters from the center of Agadir. Budget hotel for unpretentious tourists.

We devoted the whole day to the ocean, the sun and the beach. No work, just rest before tomorrow's return to Moscow!

If they ask me where to go this year. I will answer: definitely in Agadir! Having stayed here for only a week, I fell in love with Morocco and will definitely come back here again.

I am waiting for trips to the picturesque villages of Tafrut and Tiznit, the villages of Tiut and Imuzzer, the ancient city of Taroudant. Donkey ride in the valley of the river Sousse, the largest palm oasis in southern Morocco. Orange, banana and olive groves. Medieval walls with a thousand years of history. Atlantic Ocean and golden beach.
