To be honest, I never wanted to go to Malta. A friend told me that there are almost no beaches there - only stones and platforms, and of course there could be no talk of own beaches. But the young man insisted on this particular country - they say, the former British colony, "an open-air museum", as he read somewhere on the Internet.

He was the only one who organized the tour, I didn’t even try to delve into it. With a visa, everything turned out to be nowhere simpler - a certificate from work, 2 photos, a questionnaire for 15 questions maximum. All.

The first shock was - departure at 5 something in the morning on Saturday! Horror! For me there is nothing worse than night flights. True, my beloved promised that the country would amaze me, and I would forget about the inconvenience of the flight. By the time of departure, he had read a couple of guidebooks.

3 am - meeting at the airport with a representative of the travel company. I didn't even know its name - I only knew that the plate should be red, and the letters on it should be white.
The red sign with the three letters ICS really caught my eye! We have documents! Hooray!

The plane turned out to be so small compared to all my previous travels! But it was very comfortable. I did not live to see the so-called "breakfast" and fell asleep. I woke up when the pilot announced an imminent landing at Malta airport.

Passport control was very funny - the passport officers tried to tell me something in broken Russian, probably thinking that I did not speak English.

By the way, without knowing English, it is better not to go to Malta.

The young man secured himself and ordered us an individual transfer (I don’t even know how much he paid for it) - we were met with a sign with his name and surname (a trifle, but nice). The car, just like the sign at the airport, was also red - was it on purpose? ! True, there were more letters - AVIS.
A nice girl named Olesya, who just met us, told us where we should go, which beach is better to swim, where to eat. She did not bother me much with her stories, seeing, probably, that I was not able to fully perceive her words.

Hotel Le Meridien… an unusual building, standing a little on a hill. As it was written in the hotel prospectus - "located on the seashore" ...the coast was on the other side, across the road - and ...there was no beach. Yes, and the view from the window was on the parking lot, but quiet.

We arrived at the beginning of the 9th morning, and as we were told, it is not a fact that we will be settled immediately, since the check-in is after 14:00. Just thinking that I would have to wait a few more hours in the hotel lobby made me feel dizzy.

The hotel behaved in the best way - they took us to breakfast, they say, to pass the time.

The food is another small shock. From such a variety of dishes - the eyes ran wide.

I came up 3 times for a supplement - cheeses, vegetables, omelettes, fruits, salads, yogurts, juices and ...champagne. True, on the 4th day - I realized one thing - the assortment does not change. Although I was satisfied. I am not a meat eater - there was little meat, a lot of cheeses and dairy products. What you need. But the MCH grumbled the first couple of days, but in the evenings he ate himself in local cafes and restaurants.

Fortunately for us, the room was vacated just in time for the moment when we finished our meal.

The room is good, large (for me), probably 25 meters. Large balcony, where, fortunately, it was possible to smoke. Although there was no ashtray (I bought an ashtray in a souvenir shop - both practical and for memory). I was very impressed with the bathroom - both a bath and a shower, in short, I was not disappointed in the room.

The first day passed by me - we got out of the room only in the evening, when we had a good sleep after a night flight. We went to a cafe opposite, on the embankment, to have a bite to eat.
"Bite" is not a very appropriate word for Malta. Portions are something. Salad is a bowl of salad, meat with a side dish is a frying pan! ! !

We spent the next 2 days "on the beach". The city beach was 20-30 minutes from the hotel. I basically refused to swim on the platform in front of our hotel, so I saw hedgehogs in the water. Brrr.
By the time you get to the city beach, you will have time to get a tan))) and get hungry) It is better to go to the beach in the morning, as there are not many people. In the afternoon, crowds of students come here. They are not violent, but noisy.

We ate every day in different cafes, where the prices were pleasantly surprised. Sala Caesar - from 6 to 9 €. Cheap)))

In one evening we got to Pachville - a party place in Malta. To be honest, I expected more. The music is good, but the contingent is not very - 15 - 21 years old. Mostly students. We went to the HAVANA club, which was recommended to me by a friend who lived here for several months. We held out for 30 minutes at most.
I felt "old" - I just wanted to sleep!

We almost did not order excursions - we only went to Valletta. Beautiful little medieval town. Nothing special except singing fountains. I have not seen this anywhere! ! ! Beat the chimes on the city clock. And "keys" dance from the ground to the music. Impressive! There were already tears in my eyes.

We passed almost 2 resorts completely - San Julians and Slim, as it turned out that our hotel is located right at the junction of two resorts. Resorts are like our districts in Moscow - you do not notice how one flows into another. An ideal country for lovers of walking! Slowly, stopping at a cafe, on the embankment on the benches.

I also want to note - shopping! And these are not clothes, but souvenirs, small trinkets, very cute, and partly unnecessary. But I bought them half a suitcase.

The last day before the flight - and the flight is also at night - we were lying on the beach.
Already on the platform, so it was too lazy to go.

Summary: for those who are already tired of "all inclusive" and want something unusual.
