Sliema Hotel 3* was chosen according to the principle: everything at once and, preferably, not very expensive)), i. e. convenient location, sufficient comfort and availability of breakfasts - and all this for reasonable money. And we guessed it! The hotel is part of the ST Hotels chain. We knew that it was part of this chain, but we did not know that it was possible to use the benefits of one of the hotels of this chain, the Bayview Hotel, in the form of an indoor pool and sauna.

The hotel is part of the ST Hotels chain. We knew that it was part of this chain, but we did not know that it was possible to use the benefits of one of the hotels of this chain, the Bayview Hotel, in the form of an indoor pool and sauna. So, keep in mind, otherwise I received a reprimand from my husband for omitting such important information : )). They didn’t take swimsuits with them because of the winter non-swimming season, and there were no suitable sizes in the shops, again, because of the non-swimming season: either on super-slim ones, or “sails” with “parachutes”, but normal, medium , so to speak, the circles have not yet been delivered.
The hotel is located at the very central "heel" of Sliema, where there are bus stops to all parts of the island, well, or almost to all. There is also a ferry pier from Valletta. The double-decker tour bus also stops here. Well, and a bunch of shops, cafes... The beach component was not disclosed by us, but they (beaches) should be somewhere nearby. Anyway, there is a coastline : ))
The hotel itself is quite old. But you can see the gradual renovation of the interiors in a modern way, and, in general, all sorts of maintenance at the proper level. Although, it would be time to completely re-equip the bathroom.
The room is spacious enough. There is one "our" outlet, especially for the TV. But since there was not a single Russian-language channel on the TV, we didn’t use it anymore, even as a lullaby : )), and the socket turned out to be very handy. An adapter for local sockets, it seems, can be taken from the administrator. We just had ours. And on the street they are sold for 5 euros. There is a tea station, which was a pleasant surprise. The description of the room did not mention this. Replenishment of consumables was regular. Vooot, and I was dragging my travel kettle, and tea with coffee and sugar returned to my homeland : ))
Safe for a fee, 3 euros per night. There was no refrigerator, but there is a place for one. It looks like it was recently taken out of the cabinet. Well, yes, but forgot to return))
There is something wrong with towels. Only one large per resident. Yes, they say, two are supposed to be, but no. True, at first they promised to convey - they did not wait. In general, not fatal, of course, but terribly uncomfortable. Especially without floor for paws. And that was the only bad thing. I hope all this is just temporary difficulties, as the hotel management says.
Since this trip was dedicated to my beloved, namely, drinking my birthday, I decided to boo. I booked not economy, as usual, but a room with a sea view and a balcony. Highly recommend! Thousand and five hundred photos of sunrises. Of course, the most unique, one and only. And only yours! There are rooms with a large terrace in this hotel on the eighth (last) floor. Whoo! But my eternal friend "Toad" did not allow the generosity of my soul to unfold. Even my husband, who is more friendly with the Toad, made a remark to me about this, saying that he could strangle her a little, the difference is not great in cost. Well, yes, well, yes, if I had done it right away, I would have accused me of wastefulness and misuse of the family budget : ). I booked the hotel in September for the February holidays. Closer to the trip, I decided, uh, to walk like that, I wanted to upgrade the category of the room, but there were no rooms for our dates.
If you sleep with an open balcony and do not like city noise, then this arrangement of the room, of course, will not work. Directly under the windows is a busy city street, along which transport runs at night. Plus cafes and bars.
Yes, who cares, the audibility between the numbers is decent. In the neighbors with us lived a candidate for prizes in artistic snoring. But no, in a fight with us, he clearly lost : )). "Weak man! Well, what are these trills... ”- said the husband, and gave a master class : ))
Breakfast at the hotel is quite decent. Standard omelet-sausage set, sausage cheeses, yoghurts, croissants (very tasty), etc. etc. In general, you can have breakfast and breakfast.
The dining room has strong acoustics. There was a certain comical scene: the hall was filled with the usual hum of the talking audience with a slight tinkle of instruments. Suddenly, one lady of decent age blew her nose like that (no, she didn’t sneeze or cough), that’s just not like a lady : )). A momentary lull, the guests looking at each other, and again the usual noise of breakfast... Everything would be fine, but a similar story repeated itself the next morning, but on the third, however, there was no lull : ))
On the occasion of my birthday, the hotel presented a bottle of local dry red wine. I don’t know if they themselves tracked it down according to passport data, or is it the result of my impudence: a few days before arrival, I wrote to the hotel, and if any buns are supposed to be on the occasion of this solemn event. Nothing like that, nice wine.
Here are the most tender feelings left. It seems to be quite simple, and not everything is perfect in the service, but there is no unpleasant aftertaste after staying at the hotel... The people - the people working there, are very sincere. Indeed, somehow there is an aura of care, goodwill. And the smiles are not on duty, but the real ones. sincere. There is no arrogance in the views, they say, a lot of you travel here (and they go here, and they go). The funny hotel manager, outwardly reminded me of Yagupop from the old movie “The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors”, makes a round of the tables during breakfast with the wishes of a good day, whether everything suits us, etc. You raise your head to “Hello”, and then - Yagupop smiles: )). But the strict uncle, it was clear how the staff scolded a little, made comments.
A very nice administrator girl with the Russian name Vanya, who, upon checking in, gave out a flurry of information - a bunch of memos with schedules, routes and oral recommendations. And, God forbid, forget something. And I really needed to go to the ladies' room, and Vanya keeps talking and talking, but it's somehow not convenient to interrupt... And my husband (any swear word is inserted here, only affectionate) supports small talk, asks clarifying questions, and about my need he knows (the same word as in the previous brackets), and there is no reaction to my elbow... Well, of course, I later spoke about this. And he, they say, well, such a sweet girl, tried so hard, it was so nice to talk with her... And the wife, then, at least burst : ))
