13 hours of flight - exhausting, given the difference in 9 hours. Even at home, we decided to rent a car, we didn’t have time at the airport, because. Our guide, if I may say so, said the quote: "It was necessary to think before taking a hotel in this F... and the roads here are full of G... , they will put you on grandmas, so you will go with us on excursions or on taxi, I almost cried!
We got on the bus, we go, in a minute. 15 we drove up to the hotel zone in the city, although it was evening, everything was beautiful, bright, the center! The first lucky ones left, we are moving on. The driver begins to tell in English that here is Cancun, here are beautiful hotels, beaches, sea and cafes, and you, my dears, all go FOR the city, your hotel is generally far from the city and from everything. We drove min. 40. I almost cry. Mexican ghetto. Behind the bridge, unfinished buildings, poverty and some kind of forest with a broken road begin. He says that in the evening there is nowhere from the hotel, this is his advice))
We've arrived. Apart from our hotel, there is nothing in the area. There are only American Canadians in the hotel, we are the first Russians after us, as the porter told us.
At the reception they ask to go, let's go... Through the roadway from the hotel!! ! We are settled in houses with several. It’s not clear where the numbers are at all, this is also their territory, we’re going to figure it out, but we’re sorry. There are no rooms and you have a garden view. Our view of the garden is a view of the road, a thin window without a balcony, into which the wind howls and blows so (and there the wind is constantly from the sea) that I could not sleep for two days, I blew my neck, on injections. Room: there was no repair for about 20 years, I am silent about the interior, of course we are not majesties, a room for sleeping and changing clothes, but you will have to live there according to the location! Kitchen, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron, air conditioner and TV - they are also 20-30 years old))) the light is like in the basement, the floor lamps with holes by the bed are sealed with paper. Shower. The bathroom smoothly flows into this "shower", closed with a curtain, so that it does not pour heavily on the toilet))))) wardrobe-shelves in the wall, closed by a wooden door.
On the second day, all snotty and sleepy went to change the room. Changed, thank you, on the 4th day. The same thing, but with a bathroom, a normal mirror by the sink, a fan and a balcony in the building itself.
Cleaning for 5, at first they didn’t even want to take a tip, 6 towels every day, they didn’t touch anything of value) But it was very annoying: they knocked on the door at 8 in the morning, of course we don’t hear sleep, and even with a sign on the door do not disturb, opened the door with their key PERMANENTLY until we told the reception.
The food is not Mexican. Breakfast: toast, scrambled eggs, pancakes and fried bananas. For dinner and lunch The same thing, pasta, vegetables, potatoes, repeating through one on the layout, meat for dinner cut from the leftover meat for lunch in large pieces that was)) The pastry was fresh for one day, we ate that fresh one for two days) sorry, but even in Egypt, penny everything incl. was more varied. We talked with Russian emigrants from America and Canada - they come here for a couple of days, like we are in Turkey Egypt, people over 30, mostly 50-60, they are also not happy, as they said to drink, eat and sleep) no show, no entertainment .
Beach and pool: neither. The swimming pool is a paddling pool, the beach is near the port itself, around the ships, people came from the bridge to swim, maybe there are algae everywhere, a cat. buried right in the sand on the beach, the stench is wild! The sea is gray, not as it seemed, and on the horizon in the distance the hotels of Cancun itself were visible... (
Wi-Fi is very weak, $10 per day, it works poorly in the room, we went to the reception, it doesn’t catch anywhere else and only from one gadget.
When we went to Cancun and the Mayan Riviera, then we realized what Mexico is, how beautiful the Caribbean Sea is and what delicious Mexican food it is. I can say that the Mexican resort peninsula itself is not so youthful, calm, many with children and prams, but this hotel is more like a nursing home!
Yes, the beaches are mostly Europe, there are very few Russians, America and Canada are the main contingent, but they are not on excursions or on the beaches, they themselves say that they come to lie by the pool and drink vodka) so, judging by the reviews, they , everywhere is great and buzzing...
But this is not a Russian option, to fly for 13 hours and sit, sorry, as our under-guide said in full F !!!
You are young or with your family (and even more so with your family) - this hotel is not an option, there is no Mexico there, more precisely, I won’t name a single plus for that kind of money, not to mention the fact that your expectations will not come true! It’s not family-friendly, it’s not at all, well, if only for Americans) It would be closer to the resort, maybe it would also give 3-4 stars for service and inclusiveness, but it pulls for less.
I repeat, for the same money, take a hotel in the hotel zone in Cancun or in Playa del Carmen. When we found out the prices in those hotels, we were shocked, WHAT they charge so much money for in sea adventure!
