Cozumel is for those who are looking for clear calm water, nature, cozy small hotels and a relaxing holiday. Although entertainment is also available on the island: there are discos and restaurants in the city.
The hotel is small, very clean and comfortable. Shady paths, mangroves under a wooden bridge on the way to the beach with various animals: turtles, crocodile, herons...
I did not like the constant excitement and muddy water on the mainland coast, this is not here. The beaches on the island can be sandy (our hotel) and coral (neighboring Iberostar), but the sea is clean everywhere and due to the fact that the coast "looks" at the continent, it is almost always calm. The excitement was one day, the water was muddy two, this is for 14 days of being there.
The hotel staff is friendly, but does not speak Russian at all, even hello.
The food is good, tasty and varied if you come for a week. We were two and noticed that the menu is repeated, but still did not have time to get bored.

Unlike Egypt, I did not look forward to dinner. Breaks between meals 1.5 hours.
Rooms, beds, bathrooms are large - designed for American size, as well as sockets by the way, so adapters are needed. However, there they can be bought in the only town on the island in a local supermarket.
From the hotel to the city $18 taxi.
Went on regular excursions on the mainland. You can get to the mainland by ferry, which runs every hour, sometimes every two hours (for example, 20:00.22:00, and also at lunchtime). The journey takes 45 minutes, which is quite acceptable, and costs about $13 per person one way. If you go on a tour you have to go on a 7-hour ferry.
If you rent a car, you can travel around the entire island. A lot of impressions. In general, we are very pleased with the rest both on the island and in the hotel. The only drawback is that the hotel smells bad in the mornings due to sewage watering the plants, but that's not a big deal.
Anyway, we're used to it. The day began to look like another and the thought of returning home appeared somewhere on the 12th day. So 14 days, considering such a long flight, is just right.
