So those 11 days on the island flew by. The overall impression of the hotel is positive. Most importantly, the hotel is very small (only 11 three-story houses with five rooms per floor). Consequence, not a large number of people on the beach and in the restaurant. Russians were; a couple from America, a couple from Canada, a couple from Moscow, a girl Masha from Tyumen (this is who we met), i. e. there was someone to talk to.
We are a family with two children (9 and 5 years old) tried to take a large room from the tour operator right away when booking a hotel, but nothing happened, because. 2 + 2 are accommodated only in a deluxe room with a size of 36 m2 with two beds, well, or take two separate rooms, which is not appropriate in our case. children are small. We were immediately determined to solve it on the spot. As a result, we paid extra $ 100 per night and stopped in a 2-room junior sow in the royal club. The room is great, huge, with a large seating area. One minus the closet in the bathroom (but this is in all rooms) and all things are a little damp, given the still rather damp weather we got into. Two TV sets with USB inputs, 2 DVDs, music center. Corona beer in the minibar. In general, the room will not be boring. In the morning and in the evening, cleaning and change of towels, chocolates on the bed, upon arrival, wine and fruit, beach towels are brought to the room. And last but not least, free internet! (everyone else has a fee and not cheap! ) There are also good discounts on laundry, SPA, imported wines, and a lot of other little things. But the most important advantage of the royal club is the private restaurant La Caretta! God, how tasty their chef cooks there, how cozy and cute it is! How beautifully all the dishes are made. Like in a small family French restaurant! We had breakfast there, sometimes lunch, and almost always dinner. We went to a la carte restaurants one by one (steakhouse and Italian), but our La Caretta is much better. True, you also need to sign up for dinner in it, but it's not difficult, the reservation of restaurants at the royal concierge, which is located here a stone's throw away. In general, the royal club is very small and cozy; only two villas (20 and 21), a small jacuzzi pool, a house where the concierge sits and our small restaurant. My husband said that he feels like visiting Fedel Castro's dacha. All employees know you by name, everyone knows what you drink, what kind of juice the children have, what table you like to sit at. It is very nice! We did not regret a bit that we paid this 1000 $, the pleasure we got is worth much more! By the way, the supplement for the deluxe room of the royal club costs $30 per person per night, and the junior suite is $50 per person, but the room is really much bigger and cooler!
The territory is really very green, tropical and very lively. Jaguanas are everywhere, all kinds of birds, toads are croaking, crabs are sitting under the trees and "MUCHO MOSKITOS". Although they process the territory with acrid smoke, they don’t get smaller from this. Again, maybe we were so lucky with this lingering rain and they just bred. In short, take mosquito spray with you, it will not be superfluous.

The sea, as I wrote, was very spoiled due to rains and storms and cleared up only on the 8th day of our vacation, it became really transparent and calm. Near the shore there are a lot of fish, both small and large, stingrays sway at the bottom, a thick green moray eel lives on the right near the pier under a stone, some kind of tame barracuda swims near the buoys. In general, the sea is interesting. Snorkeling equipment is provided free of charge (masks, fins, vests). Catamarans, kayaks, surfs are also free. For snorkeling you can float on the reef, it costs $30 per person, diving $75. There are turtles, sharks, stingrays and all sorts of fish.
From Excursions we took a jeep tour of the island. We drove ourselves, saw the Mayan ruins, visited the tequila factory, snorkeling, lunch, the beaches of the east coast (they swam there), watched the crocodiles and climbed the lighthouse, from which it’s just a superb view of the coast. Then we returned to the hotel. Of course, you can rent a car, it costs $70-80 rent, plus $25 insurance, plus a deposit of your credit card details, and then you have to fill up the car later. In general, the children and I did not risk it and went on an excursion. We had a good ride, interesting and safe.
We didn't go for walks in the city. I can't say anything about him. When we left, we paid $18 for a taxi to the ferry. The ferry costs 316 pesos ($ 26-28) back and forth, 180 pesos ($ 15) per child.
