Good afternoon, Dear Travelers!
My short story about the hotel Riu Lupita 5 * (Playa del Carmen). The hotel does not correspond to the declared five stars. It's more like a four, probably even with a minus. The hotel is located on the second line, there is no private beach. The hotel bus goes to the beach every half hour. You can't walk to the beach, there are fences around, golf courses and private territory. It turns out to bypass a large hook. We had no special complaints about cleaning, room service, except for the dirty floors after that very cleaning.
Animation is present, but for the most part it is repeated with some frequency, during its rest the program was actually viewed three times. The hotel has one snack bar, main restaurant, a la carte restaurant and bar. We went to a la card once - the food was disgusting. The main restaurant has a decent buffet, but there is actually no seafood and fish. The staff at the bar are friendly and helpful. The cocktail list is small, but if you say the name or ingredients of another cocktail, they will do it.

There was one remarkable case (draw your conclusions, gentlemen)... on New Year's Eve in a restaurant, a waiter behind me dropped a bottle of red wine, it (the bottle) was shattered accordingly (on a tiled floor). My peach jumpsuit was ruined, I had to run to change into my room. In addition, I injured my leg with a piece of glass, not seriously, but the blood flowed strongly. So, after returning from the room, not only did I not receive at least half a word of apology... my chair was pushed back (but at least the floor was wiped), the green tea ordered by my husband was not brought at all, and after that not a single waiter approached us.
We went to complain to the reception, received a dry apology from the administrator and that's it. We think that in a hotel (especially an all inclusive hotel) it is not difficult to send an "apology compliment" to the room. But again, nothing, and I did not insist on dry cleaning at the expense of the hotel, because I rightly feared for the type of product in which it could be returned. The overalls were washed in Moscow, but the sediment remained.
The hotel also has two swimming pools, tennis courts, two table tennis tables, a volleyball court, chess, a disco (very good). That's all, perhaps.
But you still won't be sitting in a hotel with such an abundance of entertainment and "must visit" places in the area. Feel free to rent a car, buy cards at a kiosk around the corner and go. Mexico is an amazing country.
p. s. Spoon of honey : ))) The resorts of the Riu network include four hotels, the services of which all vacationers can use during the day - Tequila, Yucatan and Playacar... Cute hotels on the coast (with the exception of Tequila - the second line), more bars, more fun animation , own beaches. Choose the Lord.
Happy and unforgettable travels!
