Muradiye Mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in Albania, located in the city of Vlora. It was built in 1542, during the reign of the Ottoman Empire. There is a legend that it was on the orders of Sultan Suleman the Magnificent, who ruled in those years, that Muradiye was erected. The architecture of the mosque resembles the work of the famous architect Sinan in Istanbul. The mosque is covered with a dome, and the walls are made of brick and stone blocks. Previously, the building had a porch, but only fragments of it have survived to this day.
Inside there is a prayer hall and a minaret. In the daytime, the lighting of the hall is provided by windows located in three levels on all sides of the building.
According to historical data, the mosque was subjected to large-scale reconstructions and its internal appearance is slightly different from the original.
Now Muradiye functions not only as a monument of history and architecture, but also as an important religious Muslim building.
